There's a lot of different configurations. You could get the pro controller, which is like your average Xbox controller, but that's expensive. A set of Joycons can slide into the grip you get, but you'd have to get 3 additional sets + a grip for each set, which can get pricey. Although it's not a great controller, the cheapest way is to get 2 sets of Joycons and each person gets one turned horizontally. Slot on those additional wriststraps to each one and 4 people can play with just two sets.

Thanks. You said "the cheapest way is to get 2 sets of Joycons and each person gets one turned horizontally". Doesn't it come with one set? Or does each player need both joycons?

Yeah sorry it comes with one set, so you'll need to get one more. Each individual joycon can be used per person so two sets is enough for 4 player (although it's admittedly not the most comfortable controller)

What are the other options if I wanted to do local multiplayer for 4 people for Mario Kart? Combination of 2 pro controllers and the existing joy cons that come with the system?

Yeah that would work. Pro controllers are good per person, then each additional person could get a single joycon turned sideways. Or if you have more joycons each person could use two, either separated in each hand or putting them in a grip

Playbooks are hard to memorize especially when there are plays you'll probably never run

Even the great quarterbacks are constantly reviewing them or watching tape a few hours a day so it's just nice to hear a rookie say "holy shit this isn't easy!"

Where's that picture of Manning with his helmet on in the rehab pool reading the playbook?
