i feel like having a two-episode flashback earlier in the arc shown to the viewer, and then rehashing it later to "Naruto" as the audience isn't really structured well. It's repetitive and feels kind of purposeless here. I'm not sure if it should all have been placed as one flashback arc or what but here it's just tedious.
