i thought it was revealed looong ago that this game was going to be some sort of situation where you are stuck in a virtual reality type deal...

Interesting, but I wouldn't put any stock into that. Unless I see some solid evidence that proves or disproves the theory, I am going to leave it at that.

After you killed the associate of Richard the Lionheart and fled the scene, you are cornered by guards. At this time you grab your sword and swing, but you are hit by swords from the guards.

When this happens suddenly there is a flash of static in the screen and there are tiny numbers running in the corners. (which I thought, could be a debug tracker, untill the following happened: )

After this you get hit more and suddenly the static increases and fades into white. A female's (modern, lip stick and all) face appears from the blurry white in a stark white suit and welcomes you back (or something alike).

A futuristic logo appears (this may or may not happend before the face appears (not of the game) and demo ends.

So in short, whatever it is, there is shit happening over there. Maybe it's the old you play the person that plays the game tactic. :lol

The artwork looks like it's the same style as the new movie that's coming out next Spring. I would only imagine there'll be games released around the same time.

True... Plus they don't know what to do with the 2.5 engine from POP 1 Level remade into 2.5D in SOT.

But it could still work in 3D.... Add more levels with the horseback and the magic carpet(for a few examples), plus expand on the back story by connecting it with SOT Trilogy( you know where the Prince finds his father's sword) and have a few of the old fans come in to help make the game good by keeping it to the roots if Mr. Mechner is too busy help out make the game...

I think its pretty clear from everything we've seen that you are replaying memories of an assassin

not a huge leap from time travelling if you ask me, but that ubisoft dev seems adamant to declare its not time travelling for whatever reason

Then don't buy it. Lots of people really enjoy the series, including myself. Besides, SC5 will be much better than Double Agent due to the Montreal guys making it ground up for next-gen systems.

UK, September 21, 2006 - Ubisoft has released an official statement following the discovery of a 2GB RAR file on its Ubi.com FTP server containing information, video, artwork and screens from its upcoming roster of titles.



Alongside assets from the likes of Far Cry Wii, Lost, Naruto, Open Season, Rainbow Six: Vegas, Splinter Cell 4, Surf's Up, Shaun White Snowboarding, Star Wars: Lethal Alliance on PSP, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Assassin's Creed, the file also detailed a number of previously unannounced titles, including brand new Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell games, plus Far Cry and Rocky on PSP.

The offending Ubisoft archive, originally discovered by those wags over at neoGAF, has since been removed and the company has issued the following statement: "We are clearly displeased that confidential information from Ubisoft has been distributed on the internet. The publication of this type of information can only be harmful to the game development process and we will take all steps necessary to prevent this from happening in the future. We are still investigating the events that lead to this information leak and at this time have no further comment."

This person reads about his ancient ancestor's exploits, and that's how the story takes place.

According to Game Informer at least; they had the exclusive scoop on the game, and that's what they said.
