Tragic victim of fan death
Nestea is going to come back next season and is going to rip MC apart. The Swarm will have its revenge

July played much better in all his matches this GSL, except the last time he faced MC. Bah.
MC timing attacks are just way too good and new.
also, MC don't seems to have any bad matchup at all.

You know, as ridiculous as the Force Fields were, July didn't get burrow in any reasonable amount of time in ANY of the five games played. That ability is almost specifically designed to counter force fields, but July's stubbornness prevented its use.

(Not that it would have mattered.)

Wow how did you find it haha. Thanks!

I knew it from before. Bioware used another song by the same group for the Mass Effect 2 launch trailer and that's how I got into them :)

MC didn't break a sweat. Scariest SC2 player I've seen. MVP is obviously amazing and won the last tournament soundly, but MC just looks unstoppable when he gets on a run.

July makes many questionable decisions. oh well. That sentry play was insane, but I can't really bitch about imbalance considering he never got burrow fast enough to combat it

Have you played God of War? Kratos doesn't smile.

sure haven't.

They should make the team games under the same ticket. I don't wanna spend money for HQ stream for 4 days or whatever :|

Since I have a job now I can't sit on GAF all day.

I'd want the thread to be made and kept updated and look nice, but I'm going to bed now so hopefully someone else can do a good job. Otherwise I'll make it right before it starts.

Best GSL season was Season 2

There were a ton of jobbers still around in Season 2, including that really awful random player. Lots of terrible, terrible play. I think, if I'm not mistaken, that was also the season that SanZenith manner blocked his own natural expansion.

The games have, in my opinion, only gotten better as players have gotten better.

Not really, not at all.

Both Season 4&5 are far better overall. Go back and watch those ro64-32 matches, snarf galore.

Only the finals was "somewhat" close but not as good as the score suggests.

no surprises there. MC cements itself as one of the dominant players in the scene. And shows that in the hands of a master, forcefields are borderline broken. If only we would've gotten a third episode of Imbalance. :p

Looking forward to TSL and NASL.

thanks for the laugh
i'm all up for a balance discussion regarding force fields, but to use this match as the prime motivator is pretty myopic given the context.

mc reacted to the community's claims that late game pvz is heavily tilted in protoss favour, and that toss tier 1/1.5 units are crippled in such a way that t3 balances it out, by absoloutely decimating the second best sc2 player in the world with pure t1. he didn't even build a robo, nor did he use a straight four-gate.

can you name one element of the game that july even came close to matching mc in? he was mind-fucked, micro-fucked, macro-fucked, always left guessing and every engagment played into mc's advantage, including those instigated by july. even during what seemed like crushing all-ins, mc was still transitioning into his next play with a macro lead.

you watched an artist paint his masterpiece, and all you can concern yourselves with is the brush he used. sc2 is still in its volitile youth and balance is an organic, evolutionary thing. all we can take from tonight is that mc can force fields look broken. that's what mc does.

CGI bullshit is the death knell of cinema
Interview with MC on TL

Q. Are you planning ahead for the group selection for next season?
A. Many players are tackling me. MarineKingPrime and TSL_Rain want to get revenge on me, so I'm thinking of picking them. I want to ask everyone if they want to play against me and pick them if they wish to. I think oGsTheWind has been in Code S for too long. I want to knock him out so he can focus on coaching. (T/N: LOLLLLLL)

There are some other great questions, including one about his weight.

Great to see that I wasn't entirely terrible on my Tips. I am happy that MC won, even though i haven't had a chance to watch the games yet. I will do that probably tomorrow.

This sounds very composed and nice but I would really, really advise you to step back just a little bit.

If a Zerg hides stuff from a Terran, makes some tricky transitions, that is almost like a miracle. Terran has many tools for proper scouting, all available to him with 99% of the basic builds, so there is no need to branch out for an exotic building. Against protoss, it is kinda the same. Zerg cant wall in. They cant do anything about a hallucinated phoenix scouting, and they need to branch out or invest gas to even see the observer. Protoss hiding stuff from zerg is nothing brilliant. In fact, if you are anywhere near a good player and you are protoss, you SHOULD be thinking: "Okay, I am against a Zerg. Let us see how I am going to mindfuck him THIS time. "

Oh, MC is awesome, no two ways about it, but most of the stuff you mentioned comes down to what the state of ZVP is right now: P is untouchable in almost all times. Check those builds. Check if you find some weaknesses. If there was, just like at the Hydra drop game, July succesfully punished it. Or would you have advised July to use Roach allins in all game and hope not to see a Void Ray popping out in the middle of it?

Seriously, MC deserved this win, he played the best he could according to his race's abilities. But many cant help but think what July would be able to do with more tools at his disposal. It is not like he did not tried scouting out DT tech. He sent in the overlord at the perfect time. It just did not see the buildings.

July has been the synonym of a dominant zerg player up until this point (in this season ofc), but he just could not dominate a Protoss this good. And that is reaching territory of balance talk, not the skill difference between two insanely good players.

Give it some time.

Coming out now and claiming "the game is unbalanced!" is premature and foolish.

Remember Artosis's claims that 2 rax was unbeatable in TvZ? Yeah..
