CBS is eyeing a spinoff that would center on Jim Parsons’ character Sheldon Cooper in his younger years, EW has confirmed. CBS and Warner Bros. declined to comment.

The spinoff is in very early stages of planning. None of the flagship series’ cast is attached besides Parsons, who will reportedly executive produce with Big Bang Theory executive producers Bill Prady, Chuck Lorre and Steve Molaro.

Currently in its 10th season, The Big Bang Theory is the No. 1 comedy in primetime, averaging more than 19 million total viewers and a 5.8 in the coveted 18-49 demographic last season.

The article is poorly written, but it sounds like he'll be a producer versus starring in the show. But there will probably be some sort of stupid time travel episode once the ratings start tanking - which they will, because Sheldon is incredibly annoying and is only tolerable because of the other characters buffering him.
