But my favorite mangaka in this area is Urotan/Uropyon. Nothing I've seen is better than his newer works - but it's more or less a matter of preference since some of these things are based on style. You'll have to message me if you want any more names though.
As for Kanako, I actually kind of sympathize with her. Sure she is a bitch, but any person who is in the spotlight will have a stronger sense of self-worth and doing what she did was probably incredibly embarrassing. Not to mention that she doesn't understand the fanatical nature of otaku.
wow Kirino really should drop those friends of hers
they are pretty much the bitch trio
kuroneko and saori are so much better in terms of pretty much everything
although its pretty clear that those girls wouldnt meet with kirino if she wasnt one of their ilk
so i guess kuroneko and saori should drop kirino asap.
and bro T.T please fight back sometimes. sure those are girls that hit you. but getting bitchslapped like this for being a good guy just breaks my heart. at least block the slapping.
Yeah, I felt sorry for her. I mean she is a British girl who was flown in from England to participate in a cosplay competition because she loved what she was doing. Then she loses to a girl who doesn't even like the anime and hates the otaku.
You bet I felt sorry for her

It's true what they say that "Birds of a feather flock together." My first impression of Kanako from episode 4 wasn't that bad, but it is likely her "cover personality" when meeting strangers. Her real personality (arrogant and a bitch) was likely shown in the new episode.
With that said, I still feel sorry for the situation she was forced in by Ayase.
It is possible that her model friends a partly the reason to blame for Kirino's personality. It is also as equally likely that they are friends because they all have bad personalities. I agree with you 100% that Kirino needs to be better friends with Saori and Ruri (Kuroneko). They would be a better influence on her since they are honestly good people, not like her friends who are good-looking people, but bad personalities.
Apparently the TV series will have the "good end" and the DVD episodes will be the "true end". It could mean that there is going to be an anime original ending aswell as a continuation of the novel storyline.

The thought that this is all over some dumb little kids show and the audience is filled with the most pathetic souls on the planet, I found it pretty difficult to feel bad for anyone :lol
Episode 11
Finally Kirino was grateful to Kyousuke. Kuroneko stole the episode anyway.
Edit: Mom's tsundere act was pretty awesome too; and the reception lady...:lol
Okaish artwork for this week.
I was just impressed that they bothered to give her something resembling a western accent. And yes, I did feel bad for her. Mostly because she doesn't seem to compose herself at all like attention whores like Beckii or some shit. Seemed like just a relatively normal kid that had a slight japanophillia. Emphasis on the 'kid' part. Musta been pretty young to react to Kanakana like that...
Also, Creepy Otaku Kirino is sooooooooo fuck'n creepy. D:

Exactly. She's just a cute kid who's lucky as shit and gets to go to Japan to dress up as her favorite cartoon character, not like some sort of weeaboo youtube camwhore (though I'm sure there's some reference of that in there).
I like how Kirino's first impression of Manami after who knows how many years is "she's a slut and she's gonna fuck my brother in the living room". That girl's got some issues.

Uh... I think it's more "My brother's a perv and he wants to fuck the neighbor girl in the living room" more than the other way around. 'Course that too comes with some cognitive dissonance. She's really just trying to scare her off.

She's a teenaged girl. Contrary to popular belief, they DO think about sex. As does our straightman Kyouske, but on a different level. Thing is, I get the feeling that Kirino doesn't actually deviate all that much in terms of thinking about sex, but she IS very genre savvy for her age, and all these games about high school students that she's consumed over the years have made the idea of high schoolers having sex as almost a given.
And what's MORE is that this all occupies the "True Love" theme genre for her so that if Kyouske does the ol' in an' out with Manami, it means *GASP* that he 'loves' her, so there's no way to get to him!
Anyway, finished the episode. I think I have an idea of where it's going to end, and I really do like this exploration that they're doing if I'm right. It's clear that there's some sort of care that Kirino has for her brother and vis versa, but
I get the feeling that Kirino's 'feelings' for Kyouske (and vis versa) are just regular old sibling feelings being confused by hormones and the nature of the genre that Kirino is so devoted to. A part of her probably expects Kyouske to make a pass at her, but the lack of such direct messages makes her question this and possibly confuses things further because she doesn't quite know how to categorize her feelings for her brother because the most prominent values she's been exposed to are in siscon games. Not really a very good source.
I also like how Kuroneko was totally toying with him on the "Nii-san" bit. HA! Look at him squirm! I'd just love to see what would have happened if he teased back. "Oh, then I'll start calling you Imo-Neko-chan" or something equally pet name-y to throw it back at her. I'd expect it to become so tsundere in that room that a strangely specific denial singularity would form.

I don't think teenage girls fantasize about being a man who has younger sisters who want to have sex with them... but maybe I'm wrong. :lol
One has to wonder why she has these fantasies in the first place.
The whole Kuroneko thing was just her way of toying with Kirino's annoying tsundere side. At least someone's willing to do it.

Nice to see Kirino finally show some appreciation for Kyousuke. Probably marks the turning point for their relationship, with the next episode being the end and all.

Yeah, but remember that she's never had a normal relationship with her brother. I don't know if the sexual aspect was really what attracted her to eroge, at least at first (
She clearly gets something from it now.
).
As a side note, her present to Kyousuke is the same eroge she played in episode 9. isn't it? Apparently she wasn't as oblivious as people thought.
