Yeah, having 2 different control schemes where only a fraction of players will use 1 of them really levels the playing field.Dr.Acula said:Ruin? How about making the playing field more even?
They change depending on the color of your environment.Guy Legend said:Do the spheres on the controllers change colors or are they already that color when you buy them for differentiation?

gofreak said:So how does this magnetic thingie work?
Do you need something that creates a magnetic field?
The sixsense tech is based on detecting changes in a magnetic field, and it has an emitter that creates said field.
And what does this bring anyway beyond the gyro/accelerometers etc? Or is it overlapping data to reinforce confidence in precision?

We hate to say this about "pre-alpha" software, but we're feeling lag. An on-rails shooter we tried out, dubbed The Shoot, was discernibly inferior to shooting experiences we've had on the Wii, both in precision and refresh rate of the aiming cursor.

My (trained) technical intuition tells me that this gives a permanent and reliable point of reference, the earth magnetic field, for Move. Along with Eye, this seems to be the thing that gives Move its awezome spatial tracking.gofreak said:So how does this magnetic thingie work?

Man oh man, this is amazing. I wouldnt be surprised if this is the same person's hand that does the Wiimote pictures too.Man said:
my sensible guess is, the lbp way makes sense for lbp because it's like you're reaching out in front of the tv to interact with it like a touchscreen. plus you have better control this way. think of it like drawing something on a chalkboard right in front of you compared to drawing on a distant wall with a laser pointer. the latter feels unnatural and you have much more artistic control with the former.Lonely1 said:Okay guys, my Two sents about pointing. In the LBP demo, It clearly was using the absolute position of the ball rather than the posiiton and the angles.

CosmicGroinPull said:Controllers look very nice, but anyone know whether the triggers are real ones (a la 360 controller) or the sixaxis' fake squishy type?
The wiimote pointer senses light, which moves very fast according to scientistsLonely1 said:OK, a resume from the tech discussion we had earlier, form Engadget:
Lets see how this evolves. ANyone got more feedback about the issue?
TTP said:Dunno about the feel, but the shape is promising. I'm not sure what you mean by squishy tho? You mean they don't oppose as much resistance as the 360 controller ones?
KevinCow said:What the fuck is that symbol on the big center button supposed to be? "Press SQUIGGLE to jump!"

somuchwater said:I'm disappointed with what I've seen so far, but one smart thing about Move? You basically have all the buttons of a Sixaxis except for the second analogue stick. That means that the motion sensor could be used to replace the functions of the 2nd stick i.e. it would be how you would have motion in an FPS.

Because "let's use the Wii" sounded super hot back when the Wii was announced, right?.Kronotech said:Looks pretty but "let's use the Move" doesn't sound good. How can they use a verb for the name of their controller? At least call it... Jump or... Somersault... something more active.
