It really does. VF certainly looks good graphically, but its not anywhere near as complete of a package as tekken 6 is. It looks much more natural, polished, and consistent...especially in the animation department.

Great, Enterbrain/Famitsu/Arcadia is taking action against me for an old video I uploaded on YouTube over 8 months ago. This is such a silly ordeal as I would have fully complied with any/all requested had they asked me directly first.

My YouTube account is currently disabled(pending deletion?)... This sucks because I had 1,400 subscribers and over 600 or 700 videos uploaded.

BOO URNS.

After some SC IV online time, I don't have much faith in T6 online :(

I'll still get it though, so long as Wang isn't garbage.

Edit: HOLY SHIT. MarkMan, really sorry to hear that man...I hope everything pans out for you man, you're a great guy, and you don't deserve that shit, you've done nothing but good for the Fighting Game community, ESPECIALLY Tekken. I'd say you're more important to the Tekken scene than Castel (I don't like him sad panda). Damn...sorry again man!!!

I ain't never scared ^_^

Thanks for the concern, I think it's just silly that they're doing this, they can't win out on me, I'll just tell them the truth, I saw the offending video on another youtube and uploaded it too. If they check for other videos, they'll find identical ones uploaded a few days before mine lol.

MarkMan just JF EWGF into Laser Scraper on their asses! That shit is bullshit, no warning or anything. What a bunch of idiots. :/

BTW T6 was the best looking 3D fighters compared to VF5.... with 5R... hm, I'm not so sure anymore. I think Tekken still has the better stage design but with 5R it's alot more even now. The characters are a lot cooler in Tekken, but on the other hand I think that the character animation in 5R really blows away T6.

Wow, it must have made a pretty huge leap from the regular V5 to blow T6 away. I havent seen anything on V5R to be honest. I read that there was a new character, but that was about it.

Ill have to check it out.

how's it compared to SCIV? (assuming that SCIV>VF5 in graphics) never played VF5

:lol :lol Sorry, but that's just wrong. Apparently if I've gotten everything right, it's:

Graphics: Tekken 6 > VF5 > SCIV
Animations: Tekken 6 > SCIV > VF5
Gameplay: VF5R > Tekken 6 >>>>>>>>>> SCIV

But Japan plays Tekken 6... a lot. Actually, it's continually coming out on top of "most played". So for once in the history of this rivalry... nya, nya :D :D

I'm looking forward to purchasing Tekken 6, but I don't know how serious I'll get about it. I started getting serious in T4, elevated that in T5, then completely fell off around the time DR released. Hopefully T6 can get me 'serious' again, or V5R (I absolutely loved VF5).

Heeeeeell no.

Gameplay: SCIV >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> VF5R.

I don't have a year to dedicate to one character just so I can do a few combos.

No, sorry :D Hey it only took me two weeks of constant playing do actually start doing something in VF5.
Then another year to actually start beating someone

I love it, that's the way real fighting games are supposed to be.

Also, VF5 demands a stick or you will suck more than you will with one. Terrible archaic fighting game aimed at the truly hardcore and devoid of any playability for normal people. YUCK!

SC4 is a fun party fighting game.

VF5R does have a steep learning curve though.

I'd argue that Tekken generally allows you to look cooler faster. VF does take work.
But after playing VF for so long, when I try to boot up Tekken :lol I just can't get used to it :p

I think it's because I'm using Lei in Tekken 5DR. I look at his "Bread and Butter" combos and I can't seem to do any of them :lol

You can play vf5 on a pad fine. Better than most fighting games, I think.

An Virtua Fighter is not hard to lean at all. It just not very scrub friendly.

Sorry to hear that man.

Fucking lawyers! Woody Allen rightfully showed that they have their own floor in hell.

VF isnt that hard to pick up and play. Of course, im not talking about mastering or even being "tourny ready", but its fairly simply to do combos and juggles in vf. Its certainly more character specific than any other fighter out there, but its not like its just completely inaccessible to pick up and play within a few minutes. Im not even a big vf fan, but it wasnt hard for me to jump in and learn some combos and land some decent juggles.

Im no pro and VF5 by any means, but that's the point.

Alright, so i just got back from playing some tekken6...things were a bit different however this time, as there were about 20 or so players there that really knew what they were doing.

Tekken 6 on a competitive level is soooo much fun. Since it runs smoother, the matches look a lot more "spectacular" this time around. For 1.50 per play, losing just wasnt an option, as this can add up quickly. Not that i mind, but damn, after a weeks worth of playing tekken 6, i could just buy the damn cabinet!!!! There was a guy playing with kuma and we descovered a glitch(well, im sure someone else has also). Kuma can throw a damn salmon at you(thats not the glitch)!!!! After he throws it however, for a split second he cant be damaged(thats the glitch) I caught him with a flush Konvict Kick with king after side stepping the damned fish, and i just bounce off of him. Everyone was like WTF!!!! Later, someone played with paul and the same thing happen after he tried a phoenix smasher. I dont know what the hell was going on, but oh well.

Quick note about the presentation as far as character selection and "vs" screen before matches start....I looks a bit, iono, weak. I liked the feel of tekken 5 more with the artwork representing the character as opposed to the character model standing their, doing the idle animation. It just doesnt fit well imo, and it would have been better with some of the fresh artwork they had for each character. Not important, but just noting it.

I have to give a nod to the backgrounds once more, as they are so awesome. I really tried to sit back and look at the scenery while i wasnt up to bat, and namco really did a damn good job of making sure they matched the characters. Everything fits so well together and no one ever looks out of place. The color palette matches the onscreen characters, and like i said before, the details are definitely up to code. One thing ill say that i dont like about this game is the whole level destruction, specifically when you go through the floor. It looks so disconnect with the flow of the match that its a bit jarring when it happens. Its like someone will do a move, and instead of following through with it through the floor, the move will connect, and then the floor will break and kind of snap the players into a falling animation. Its really a shame, especially since everything else is so well polished. I dont like it at all :(

Last, the pure awesomeness of Law's animation set must be reiterated once more. Everything from this recoils to his facial expressions are some of the best ive ever seen, its almost enough to make me shed a tear. He must have been the last character they finished and wanted to pull all the stops...it really looks that good.

It still stands: Tekken 6 is fucking awesome.

Don't worry, Law is as awesome as he says in T6. I've seen a lot of guys in the arcades that use Law and do good with him that I'm practically sick of it :lol

Is the Wikipedia entry right in saying that T6 will be coming to PS3 on November 25, 2008?

Does it seem possible/likely that it'll come out this year? I mean, I enjoy Soul Calibur 4, but I have to say I'm not a huge fan of the whole medieval theme the series has going.

Didn't Namco say the game would hit the ps3 less than a year after hitting the arcades (as in around or before November 2008)?

Personally, I think a release date will be announced at TGS.

That's something people tend to parrot, but in reality, I feel the VF series is much more forgiving to beginners in a party setting, because memorizing the move list doesn't give you as big of an advantage as it does in Tekken or Soul Calibur. You can easily embarass someone in VF with just the basic moves. It puts everyone on a much more level playing field.

In fact, maybe getting destroyed by basic moves is what causes people to say that VF has a high learning curve.

Played Tekken 6 when I was on vacation in Las Vegas. New York, New York casino has one. Its 3 dollars to play.:-( I am not sure how I feel about the game... the graphics looked unfinished to me. Was fun to play but I was hoping that this would top Soul calibur for me gameplay wise and in my short time playing it did not. I will wait for a console version and see how I feel then.

Damn idiots have busted up P1 stick and RK button on Tekken 6 @ Trafford Centre in UK.
I had a similar problem with the Tekken 5 machine at the arcade in "Old Port Royale" at one of the Disney World resorts (in Orlando). The only attack button that works -- and it's flaky at best -- is the RK. I have no idea how many of the player two buttons worked because the player two start button was broken.

I hate ogres that break arcade machines... They're made to take abuse, so when you can break one, you're just being a fucking spaz.
