Impressive.

I really thought the ref fucked up the count or something last night.. then I realized that the WWE would have improvised if that actually happened.

I agree with those who said that this was an FU to Punk.

A FU to Punk? LOL you must be out of your mind if you think that was a FU to Punk..."oh you left us behind, look at the Untertake losing his streak" :-D

Yea I legit hate the commentary, I liked it better when they just shut up and let the moment do its own work (only because they're so bad I mean).

JR would have been screaming "BAH GAWD DANIEL BRYAN'S 15 YEAR JOURNEY HAS TAKEN HIM FROM THE BINGO HALLS TO CHAMPION ON THE GRANDEST STAGE OF THEM ALL! AS HELL AS MY WITNESS ALL THAT IS HOLY AND MOSES HE DID IT DANIEL BRYAN'S DREAM IS HAPPENING RIGHT IN FRONT OF US!"

JBL is like "Well look Maggle the farm animal managed to stand upright."

:| I have so much hate towards them.

While the best Cole can ever manage is a "Oh my!" in enthuasm, I enjoyed his 'real' shitting on HHH's BS shenanigans.

Yup, they need to change the commentary. It's obviously not working and it's bringing things down.

Cole is the best of the three and that says it all.

Agreed on all accounts that commentary was DOGSHIT, all night. From the first match to about 90 seconds before the end of the broadcast. Cole alone finally tried to infuse some excitement and passion into the commentary after Bryan won the title, but the rest of the night, including Bryan beating HHH clean, a WM III homage with Cesaro, Bray performing like a true star, THE STREAK ENDING, all we got was:

"...yeah...stuff is happening....this is very serious now....very....serious.....FARMANIMALGOATSHEEPTROLLOGREGARDEGNOMEMAGGLE....oh no...the Streak is down....look at that..."

I can't remember. Did they even try to make the WM3 parallels after that?

"27 Wrestlemania ago, Hulk Hogan shocked the world by picking up and slamming Andre the Giant! Tonight, Cesaro picked up the world's largest athlete and threw him over the top rope to win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal! What a moment! What a display of power! Tonight, Cesaro has cemented himself into Wrestlemania history!"

Something like that.

Don't think changing the actual members of the commentary team would change anything. If Vince was unhappy, he's be screaming into their headsets about how they should be doing it/ This is what Vince wants, unfortunately.

Will the title be held in abeyance?

Will they try to squash Bryan tonight?

Whatever happens, they should throw all sorts of shit at Bryan tonight and let him get through it.

Just woke up. Was I dreaming last night?

Or did Taker really drop the Streak in a meaninglessness mid card match with no build up in New Orleans? Did I really watch Vikki standing on a podium screaming at a clusterfuck of 14 divas right after the Streak was broken?

Is this real life?

They didn't even know who D-Bry was bringing into the ring during the celebration, its like fair enough maybe that wasn't in the script but could at least mention it means so much to the man, the pure emotion, able to share it with family or something.

They just sat there going uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Dream Modern Commentary Team:

Joey Styles (call the action, provides backstories on everything)
William Regal (color commentary, can be heel or face as needed)
Renee Young (plays off the other two, can cover social media as needed)

Book it E.

The commentating sucked last night. They need to bring in some new fresher talent in that area. Hearing Michael Cole go WILL BATISTA TAP WILL BATISTA TAP WILL BATISTA TAP a thousand times gets pretty grating after the second time

I wouldn't force Joey into that role as he's clearly happy working for WWE.com. Hell, Cole and Regal as a 2-man team without Vince manning Gorilla would be light years ahead of what we have presently.

The fans need to stop enabling this shit, too. Instead of wasting all their energy jeering Mr. Same Old Shit Cena as he proceeds to inevitably not put over yet another guy, they should be throwing some of that heat on to the commentary crew.

Instead all we hear every damn taping is cheering for Lawler and JBL as they come down to ringside and chants of their names when the fans are tired of chanting for Punk to amuse themselves.

As I said, that's the dream. Michael Cole won't be retiring for a long, long, long time.

Still, I would throw Regal and Renee in the booth with him instead of Lawler and JBL who are the biggest part of the issue here.

Let's face it, Cole can be decent to good. He just needs a color guy who can back him up and work with him instead of two color guys who go off on their own tangents half the time.

They're always going to get cheered because they're one of the first "name" people to come out at the tapings and it means Raw/Smackdown/whatever is about to start. Heck the WCW announcers got cheered up until the end.

As a Total Divas fan when I saw Ariane's top had busted open during the match all I could think was "Giiiiiiiiirlbye Sandra!" then I go to her Twitter and she posted pretty much that same thing lolz.

Maybe all their tops busted open thats why like a thousand of them were stuck outside the ring unable to break the hold while AJ won.

Ill never understand why Vince turned so hostile to treating commentary like its a real sport. Once he became obsessed with the sports entertainment not wrestling bit all of a sudden commentary became useless in his eyes as far as following the actual matches.

Read an article the other day on JR and it went into alot of detail on why he was so impressive at it. While he always went in knowing how a match would end he refused to be told anything about what would happen during the match so he would see it happen just like us and sell it accordingly in his commentary.

Did you ever hear Bobby Heenan call a match? What about Jesse Ventura?

Both were great at putting over the heels while the main guy deflected. It's natural to have some conflict on the commentary, but you have to have a group that can pull it off and play off each other, JBL, Cole and Lawler don't.

Not even one mention. IN AN ANDRE THE GIANT MEMORIAL MATCH.

What? The streak ended? Oh mah gawd I can't believe I didn't bother to stay up and watch. Anywhere with a good rundown of what happened last night?

Undertaker looked old and tired. Bork dominated him and hit him with the f5 three times and pinned him for the victory. Crowd was legit shook.

I really can't understand why they ended the streak like that. Shocking for the sake of shocking is stupid. The streak ended with:

- A shitty match
- A shitty feud with no hype behind
- A part-time old wrestler
- A shitty commentary
- And it wasn't even the main event.

Great booking. A historic moment that felt like an unwanted fart.

Get Dusty Rhodes back on commentary. Problem solved.

I honestly don't know who they have that is any better than Cole and King, but I agree, they've been awful for a long time now. Even Booker T is more fun to listen to. And JBL? Could he ever work a mic? How did he get that spot?

Cole will inevitably get replaced by Matt Striker or the other former wrestler whose name I can't recall atm.

I'm imagining an alternative take on Taker's match where Brock just straight up annihilates him within minutes and wondering if that would have gone down better as a match then shambling Taker going through his usual spots at half the pace he did in previous years.

It would have at least told some sort of comprehensible in-ring story.

Calling it. Tonight on Raw they're going to find out that Lesnar drugged the Undertaker before the match and that last nights match didn't count.

I'm still in shock.

He didn't even put up a fight? What was the point? Such a sorry end to an amazing career...

He put up a bit of one, hit Brock with a chokeslam and a Tombstone, but you could tell his age has really took a toll on him now. Compare his performance last night to 5 years ago and it's crazy how much less energy he had last night.

That's really sad, I was going to try and watch it somewhere later but don't think I want to see that, should have just faded into the background rather than going out (if this is indeed the end) like this. Real shame.

Watching Cesaro's first WM moment again just makes me so happy.

Everyone lost their shit, what an amazing sight and sound. The audible gasp and holy shits.

Between his 'arrival' finally and Daniel Bryan getting his I'm truly here (see that crowdyes.gif) main event rub on not just WM.... but such a special WM.

Everything feels ok now.

I would not have minded if the streak ended to someone that is there everyday working their ass off BUT having a part timer like bork lesnar break the streak makes no sense at all .

A terrible way for the streak to end,it should have ended in a much more grand fashion and in a handicap match.

So this morning I didn't read the thread to avoid spoilers, but it guessed from the title that something big had happened. Genuinely never occurred to me that it could be the end of the streak.

Yeah, it's sad, but it's great for business and I'm sure it's what Taker wanted. Nobody is going to believe UT at near 50 is going to take out a former UFC champ. Taker probably promised to do the job for Lesnar back before he attended that one match. He has respect for the guy, even if many of us here don't, at least from a sport entertainment point of view.

I'm kinda new to the WrestleGAF world, so I have 2 questions:

What's the joke behind "legit shook"?
Is WWE Network worth it? Can I watch the main events with it?

After letting it sink in
still legit shook though
, I'm thinking they had to have gone off book because Taker got hurt or something. I really can't believe Vince or Trips would have let the streak end in a mid card match that had no buildup and a shitty finish like that.

Lesnar hasn't performed as much as others but he has still had little feuds against HHH, Punk, Henry, Big Show and the Undertaker in the past year. Hopefully he gets to be legit full time now as I am sure Heyman is going to milk this victory for months and months to come. Lesnar needs to get title shots otherwise he will never be legit full time. Without the belts the only thing lesnar is good for is to just injure people and send them on vacations like he did with Henry lol.
