I didn't say this. I said it would allow them entry and to search.
Yup, his problem is that he expected women to flock to himI really doubt this guy was even turned down much. He seems more like the type for hating himself for not being able to try in the first place.
I'm not sure if I'm immoral for saying this, but his manifesto is fascinating. Absolutely horrid, but fascinating. I'm trying to understand how this train of thought and mentality is developed.
My point was they had no reason to do so.
4chan for the most part is laughing at him. Outside of jokes, the consensus isn't that much different from here.
His social worker called them because he was suicidal, they had plenty reason to investigate.
Reading through some of the comments of his videos, some women are actually scared to turn down guys because they fear for their life. Fucking crazy
He did, he had Asperger's. (Hopefully this doesn't start an association with it and psychos between the two shootings, though.)
update 2: His 140pg manifesto
It's the part about killing his own brother, for the sake of him having a hypothetical "more successful" life, that I find the most horrid. But like I said, how someone can legitimately have these thoughts is absolutely fascinating.I find it extremely depressing on a lot of fronts. Especially the lines about him TELLING his mother to sacrifice her values for his happiness. His own mother!
But... how, though? I'm certainly not a psychology major, but how can narcissism be developed completely naturally? Wouldn't it take an event, or series of experiences, to develop such a twisted view?IMHO, just a lot of perseveration and narcissism.
You have to commend 4chan, for instead of portraying him into a standard media spotlight, they treat this like the piece of shit that he was. You'd have to imagine that if he were around today, he'd get some sort of gratification at the way the media (us included) are discussing him. We're trying to understand how his perspective came to be (well, certainly myself), emerging ourselves into the details, reviewing his videos, reading his manifesto as he intended us to... Not that what we're doing is wrong or immoral, but I praise 4chan for taking the perspective of "the guy's a fucking spoiled pussy who's too beta to get anywhere, because life was handed to him and he doesn't know how to work for anything" (that's my understanding, anyways). They've moved onto parodying/mocking the Youtube videos.
Am I the only one that's incredibly pissed that the police didn't take the reported videos seriously enough to conduct a search of his room?
They could have stopped the massacre right there.
They've moved onto parodying/mocking the Youtube videos.
They could have probably searched based on the whole "suicidal" part of the call probably. Life and death situation = probable cause.
Here's the thing about the SBPD: They're stupid useless fucks. And the sherif is up for reelection. Whoops.
Seven officers responded to the call his mother made. SEVEN. SEVEN OFFICERS. And not ONE of them had the thought that maybe the kid was either full of shit, or should be investigated further, after seeing the videos he posted. NOT ONE.
If any of them had gone to a judge and said "Hey we got a call from this kid's mom, she said he's posting videos about killing people and he's been seeing psychiatrists but she's worried he might be a danger to himself or others" a warrant would be signed before he even finished the sentence. But SEVEN officers went to his apartment and talked to him and unanimously decided "He seems like a quiet, timid boy and he says it's all a misunderstanding. GOOD ENOUGH FOR US!" and that was that.
They fucked up BAD on this one. I already hated the fucking imbeciles at the SBPD but no, you are not alone, I am furious with the way the handled this.
That's not how it works.
An officer can only enter if there are exigent circumstances, they have search warrant, or the occupant allows the police to enter. A well being check is not an exigent circumstance unless it's the well being of another person within the home and someone is blocking the door saying everything is fine.
Here the occupant said everything was fine. Police asked several questions and asked the occupant if they could search the house. Occupant said no, Police did all they could. Now, if it was obvious the occupant was in a suicidal rage, they would have hospitalized him for observation and still not have been able to search the home without a warrant or permission from the occupant. (Aside from in plain view)
Anyways, man. I just can't believe that sometimes mental problems are so obvious yet nothing can be done about it. He was seeing psychiatrists and still nothing could be done for him.
Wasn't trying to imply you were trying to make that leap- rather that the narrative might emerge due to recent events and would need to be pushed back against hard if it does.I'm not saying that having Autism causes someone to go out and kill, but it may make it more difficult for them to cope with bullying.
When I'm insulted or criticised, I'm usually able to tell where the other person is coming from. I can judge the social context of the situation, and realize whether the person is being combative and lashing out, or pointing out a genuine flaw in something I've done.
If it's the former, I will shrug it off without much thought. If it's the latter, I'll self reflect and course correct if I feel guilty of said flaw.
I'm not sure a person with Autism will react the same way. People with autism tend to over-think things and internalize the criticism they receive unaware of the social context.
Once you put yourself out there, the amount of mockery and criticism that the internet allows for is unreal. It's probably a lot to process for them.

This is a short documentary on 'incels,' involuntary celibates.
They are attending a meet-up. It's interesting to see them interact socially. I wouldn't be surprised if these people ran in the same online circles as Elliot. There's a lot of overlap in the things they talk about.
I really think he had some form of autism. The dire tone he tries to affect in a lot of his videos reminds me of chrischan. His way of thinking is extremely systematic. He thinks all he has to do meet certain criteria on paper, and a girl will desire him. He seems completely oblivious to nuances of personality that girls find attractive.
Autistic people will also often have a pet project or hobby that they will completely obsess over. It's really unfortunate that his project was becoming an 'alpha' male, something he seemed fundamentally unequipped for.
But it's so much worse than that, in some of these stories the only beef he has with the other guy is that he has a hot girlfriend and isn't white."I don't know what you don't see in me, I'm the perfect guy - and yet you throw yourselves at all these obnoxious men"
He did have a Magikarp phase
And the ledge thing earlier in the thread.
Yea remember that kid who posted a comment on a League of Legends Facebook page and got busted? These videos seem a lot worse than that one random comment.I can't believe that his video sat live for 24 hours and nobody stopped him. What a sad shame.
Yup, his problem is that he expected women to flock to him
Probably felt it was beneath him to ask them out

This guy clearly had a massive crap-ton of issues, and that was only the tip of the iceberg.
"I don't know what you don't see in me, I'm the perfect guy - and yet you throw yourselves at all these obnoxious men"
OMG... He is one of those 'nice guys'. The crazy thing about all this is he actually seems quite a good looking guy. I am guessing the reason no girl was interested in him is because he has one hell of a batshit insane personality.

We can dig deep into whatever pathology may or may not be present in the boy.... but damn if it doesn't just come down to being a sexually frustrated hater. A player hater in particular.
Here's the thing. Did the officers actually watch the video? Because usually officers doing a well being check as well as dispatch do not watch videos while on the job. Did the mother say he was going to kill people or just that he was suicidal and could harm others? There is not much the police can do unless they have evidence and take that up to the judge.
Case closed. He bad a bad case of the "player hater". Good work Detectives, now let's all go out for a beer!Yeah I'm sure if more people told him he needed to stop player hating and get laid he would have been better off...

I didn't say anything about him getting laid.Sex wouldn't have helped. A girlfriend wouldn't have helped.
He had deeply seated issues with all of humanity. Some snoo snoo wouldn't have relieved that.

Everyone keeps saying he was mentally ill (clearly he was) So what could have been done to change his views? He seemed SOOOO far gone with his opinion on woman and the envy of them being with other guys he could not enjoy anything without thinking about it. He kept on and on about the sunset and how nature was beautiful but not when youre alone, or not when you think about guys with girls that I should be with.
It is so messed up but how exactly do we treat someone like this? Pills? Intense therapy? I just wish they would have stopped him from doing this and it was a 2 page thread on here about how he attempted.
