Hyrule Warriors Adds a Playable Agitha from Twilight Princess

So how many characters do we expect this game to have? As many as a mainline DW game?

Well we know for sure it has at least 9 (maybe 10, I counted them fast during the Treehouse stream) characters, as that is how many slots were available in the E3 demo, although only 3 of those were selectable(Link, Zelda, Midna) and the rest were ? marks.

There's no way they're stopping at 10 and including Agitha

Cool. When I think of Agitha, I'm reminded of all of the cute/creepy fanart I've seen with her and Link throughout the years. :D

I sure hope this one of her moves

Excellent.
Koei's later musou games spoil me with their 70+ character roster.
So any additions to a new Warriors entry is totally welcome.

Dude, all those female characters...I mean, if Ubi can't afford to include even one in their games, surely it's gonna cost Nintendo/Koei an insane amount of money to include as many as they are.

It's a warriors game. It's cheap to make. (The joke)

Wow, its amazing how much they can afford to have so many playable female characters

Is it really that amazing? I thought it's a given for an ensemble cast game like the musou games and fighting games to have many playable female characters. In fact, I struggle to think of games of that type that don't.

He's joking in relation to Ubi's comments about why there aren't any female assassins in the next AC.

As I said before, If she's in, Groose better be in.

Cool to see that they're thinking outside of the box with characters, though!

Twilight Princess is my favorite game ever and I'm so excited to see Midna and now Agatha!! Malo would be great too.. and they should play the Malo mart theme music whenever he battles!

Renado from Kakariko village would also be a good choice.

Honestly, with this announcement, no one is off the table.

I wholeheartedly expect the next character announced to be Guru-Guru.

Now that I think about it, Twilight Princess probably has the best characters in the whole series. I mean, it has Agatha, Malo, Telma, and several other memorable characters who you only see in one or two places, but whose names I actually mostly remember (including Iza, Hena, Fyre, Ashei, etc). Skyward Sword had... well, Groose. That's about it, though. Nobody else really stuck out to me.

Therefore, I don't think I can see too many Skyward Sword characters in this game...

So is Link like the only dude in this game

Not that i'm complaining

Why would you do that? said:

Groose is the best character in the series though. If he's not made into a permanent/recurring character (like Tingle and Impa) I'm going to be severely disappointed.

Doesn't read OPs, especially not his own

Skyward sword placed a ton of importance on their main characters, taking what they learned from midna and applying them to more main side characters is what they did in SS, which means ghirahim(can never quite spell his name right) groose, zelda, impa and so on(link's friends like pip who you can even get him to hook up with your other friends makes it more personal aswell) got alot of screentime and development.

Just give me Sheik and Ganondorf with movesets influenced by their Melee incarnations. Done.

Fuck that, I don't want Ganondorf to be a clone still in another series completely unrelated to Smash. I want swords, damn it. Dark magic, sure, but no Captain Falcon rip-off.

aw yiss

Also, it's as though they're trying to out-Wii Fit Trainer good ol' Sakurai with this pick

Who can get weirder?!

Well, in Omega Force's favor, they get to (hopefully) explore the greater wealth of the entire Zelda franchise, while Sakurai's crew has to make choices from Nintendo's overall catalog.

Assuming this won't be just a "Best of OoT/MM/TP/SS" festival, they could really make for some interesting picks. Ricky in the last thread, Error in this one...I hope this won't be the end of their more off-kilter picks.

Exactly. I'd expect Omega Force to have a bit more imagination when it comes to giving Ganon a moveset more adequately representing his source material than Smash certainly did.

Oh man, Error could glitch out and skewer foes on the sharp corner of his text box

This is the exact opposite of how I feel. Twilight Princess characters felt kind of forced and unlikeable, some of them completely unmemorable. Midna was the only real example of someone I truly cared about. It had all these characters that looked cool (the resistance) but then failed to give them any development, which was disappointing.

Skwyard Sword on the other hand had a really strong supporting cast that all had really strong personalities. Zelda, Groose, Impa, and Ghirahim were all pretty amazing and had good development. You wanted them to show up, where as in TP I really couldn't care less about colin or ilia for most of the game. Worse yet, they felt forced upon you as someone you should care about, but never gave you any reason to. TP was a letdown in terms of story and atmosphere, especially coming off the amazingly well fleshed out world of TWW. SS was a great step back to the vibrancy of that game.

Opinions are opinions, I guess. I'd say Impa here is heavily based on the Impa from Skyward Sword, so I think you're going to get a mix of characters from all the games.
