I managed to play this game on a friends console, and WOW at the presentation. The game looks insanely photo-realistic in overcast conditions, even more so than GT6 which had fantastic overcast lighting for last gen. The sounds were good but maybe a tad overblown. My only complaint is the controls felt a little unresponsive, probably due to 30fps. I can only imagine what GT7 will look like.

I have no issues with response on Driveclub and I use wheel where it would be more noticible, sounds like the tv you was using may have very high input lag plus settings on tv will always cause input lag.

Just sent most of you a Club challenge on Tagahaki Hills, using the One:1. I know Kie25 can top it because he's 4th best in the world for the time and already smashed it, but the challenge is to the rest of you mere mortals lol.

Driveclub a la Moon Over The Castle.

Used a combo of gameplay, photo mode and replays.

That's fantastic! Truly there are points in this game where there is nothing that can touch it visually on any platform.

The playstation PR didnt sound good at all. FUCK!!!
It really sounded like they are gonna keep enough people until the season pass is over in the summer then shutdown the studio. Sigh....I don't think we will EVER get another racer like Driveclub. I'm assuming they will all move to Playground games or get scooped up by Polyphony or something.

I honestly can't see where you'd get that from. They clearly stated that the game will continue as 'DCaaS', which implies ongoing support and development for the game in the future.

Personally I hope they flesh out the car list a little bit more, then turn their attention to some new locations, preferably some city-based stuff.

- Time of day indicator during race. (to emulate some of the tour event setups in our own events)
- Better ambient lighting on approach into tunnels (too dark for me, and the exposure shift doesn't feel all that natural - also on exit)
- Better UI for selecting car. Scrolling left and right is getting old. Perhaps by manufacturer/type etc. Will get worse as more stuff is added.
- Random or pre made livery setups. (because I don't have time to make my own)
- Improved IQ - Order 1886 has spoiled us.

You know you can jump between classes with L&R1, don't you?

Ok, so a lot of very interesting races here. Raced a lot with DHC Shannow and some other pretty quick people. There were a lot of collisions, photo finishes and RAGE QUITS!!!
Crazy races.....man, custom lobbies can't come soon enough!!!

Absolute Cluster Fuck of a race with Mclarens and was that a rage quit?!?

Spewing we got disconnected couple of nights ago, would have loved to have a few races at least. Looks like Rivendel might have got disconnected cos he leaves then rejoins your session rather quickly.

But we'll call it a rage quit!

Well done last night bud, kicked my arse in every race :-(

Thought I had you in that one, especially after Rivendel nerfed you with half a lap to go!

I thought Rivendel kept getting booted as he kept disappearing at the end of races but yeah you can see the real reason in your vids - never seen someone quit so much when their in your sesh!

Congrats!

The location accolade seems to take forever to fill for me, even if I were grinding it would take hours over hours. Not gonna do that until I finished all the DLC stuff.

Location ones weren't too bad for me. The only one that took forever was the game mode one. 2 million Drift events later, I finally maxed one of these bloody things out!

Feels damn good.

Had a pretty good night with the game tonight. Earlier I managed to go right to the top of my friends score list (the third gold star was a far lower score) on my very first attempt, with 10,600 points in the new Dodge Viper Drift event. Was super satisfying. Though I still wasted the next 15 minutes topping my own scores lol.

I set it as a Club challenge if you guys are interested in trying it. Pretty sure one of you could smash it as the top scores in the world for the event, are still much higher.

More details about the layoffs: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-03-23-driveclub-developer-set-to-lose-55-staff-sources-say (for anyone who quit the other thread).

Half the studio layed off, pretty crazy :/.

So disappointing. They created such a fantastic game with amazing support, I really hope the talented people who were let go find work in the industry.

It'll be upsetting if this now affects the quality of the post launch support, in turn affecting the quality of the game. I believe in Rushy and his team though, they're hardworking and attentive to their audience. They'll pull through.

Here's my vid of the FF battle with IKizzLE - Seeing his vid from the 3rd person view certainly makes me realise how restricted my view is using the bumper cam.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKsMUwkpK4Q

Here's another vid with an incredibly tight finish - I'd had a clear run until the halfway mark then lost a bit of speed when the back end stepped out. From there on to the finish there's 4 of us neck and neck until the final chicane!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EifCpouo8mY

And here's Skillet's view of that finish, Ghost_of_Senna was a bit salty..

I can't imagine using bumper cam online...

Every time he got passed up or knew he wasn't gonna win, he would leave and come back and try again. And he was visibly pissed off in the Audi race. Hes fast and I'm sure he's not used to losing so it seems he gives up when he feels there's no hope.

I've never done an online race, but watching those videos makes me think I need to start.

I'm never going to get to my backlog...

Just got Driveclub after selling it the first week.

Is there a friend lists I can add so I can flesh out my leaderboard a bit more?

I don't understand drifting anymore, or at least how to earn points consistently.

Before, if I took a drift around a corner properly, I would always earn roughly the same score.

Now it varies, there's this one really long and sharp corner one a Scotland track that should net ~5000-5500 if you drift it properly, but despite drifting through the entire thing I get anywhere from 2400 to 5500 and I have no idea what I did wrong or how to improve the score.

If you want to see some of the best Driveclub screenshots IMO and also need wallpapers of cars for you phone or desktop, check this guy's Flikr out https://www.flickr.com/photos/62882963@N07/ You won't be disappointed.

Great link. Lots of amazing shots in there.

It's now about how much speed you can hold in a drift. So rather than going for crazy angles, hold enough of an angle that you keep a drift score and good line, but not so much that you lose too much speed.

Incredibly disappointing. They've made such a phenomenal game, and offered insanely good post launch support. This game deserves, no demands a sequel. Here's hoping they all land on their feet, and that Rushy is safe.

I tried the 3rd person cam early on but just couldn't get on with it - most of the time bumper can is just fine but I defo seem to struggle more when in a pack than the other guys I race with. It doesn't tend to matter when I'm on my own as I tend to get to the front eventually but if you or Skillet are on then you tend to be well ahead by that point.

I've never done an online race, but watching those videos makes me think I need to start.

Gee really! It can be absolutely brilliant and really get your blood pumping when you win a close race, it can also make your blood boil when you get taken out every time you try to pass someone! You'll notice most of those great race vids are against people in the same session as people treat each other with a lot more respect if they know each other. Good races against unknowns do happen but they tend to be quite rare. If you're looking for someone to race with send a FR to Skillet666, Postcyberpunk or Brijohnson40 and mention my name - they're good guys to race with and are online a lot more than I am these days.

Yeah I get that but it just seems wildly inconsistent for me, I've done the same drift at roughly the same angle/speed and the scores are still pretty all over the map

Maybe I just need to practice more. It does feel less like true drifting than before though, I hope they still continue to tweak it.

I wasn't talking about the effect itself, just how often it's used.

You know, if i had read this yesterday, i probably would have agreed with you, since i normally don't pay attention to it in real life and therefore it seemed to me that they don't appear as often as they do in the game. But when i took a 60km drive this morning, i've made an effort to look out for mirages and was taken aback at how common they are, i couldn't drive for 20 seconds without spotting at least one, and often a whole cascade of them. I've also spotted heat haze. I live in Central Europe and it was around 8°C outside, so both effects aren't something that should appear only on the tracks from hotter regions, like someone has sugested earlier in the thread.

In life things tend to blend in where in games they stick out more because its...well not reality. Something like that anyway.

That's interesting, thanks for sharing. I had no idea that blazing-hot temps weren't necessary for mirages to appear.

And MY GOD, that Aventador gameplay is SEX. Pure sex.

I really hope Evo introduce manual ghost implementation.

Is it some sort of bug that after several laps I just see my last lap and the WR instead of my best lap? It's irritating as my ghost becomes more and more redundant.

Here's a nice Drift video for you to watch and maybe evaluate the scoring. This is from an ongoing championship and this player got first place this week (I got second... :( )

We were both getting very consistent scores the whole week.

I'll check it out later, thanks.

I guess maybe I just need to admit that I suck. Lol.

Still, did a club drift challenge last night and only took 2 tries to get to 6th place out of 94 participants :p

I've had an odd ghost problem for a while now. Sometimes its an old ghost, sometimes no ghost, and other times it works as it should. Theres been several days in a row where I'd run the same course but every day it would lose my ghost. Hell I could see my previously faster time in the upper right corner but it was still the wrong ghost.
