While Raiden will be one of the greatest tricks in gaming marketing, and Kojima likes his weird, vague marketing before game announcements, but it blows my mind that anyone honestly thought that he would go remotely to such a level, or that he had the ability to even do considering all the factors involved with this.

Remember when we figured out The Phantom Pain was MGS seconds after we saw the trailer and then we thought Joakim Mogren was CG and zoomed in on slow motion gifs of his face because Kojima is the master of elaborate ruses and then it turns out the ruse was that The Phantom Pain was MGS?

I bet Kojima remembers. I bet it was his plan all along to throw us off using the Mogren event, setting us up for the next big ruse, making us believe we're the authors of our thoughts, when in fact he actually planted the idea of it being silly and ridiculous that this could possibly, conceivably be a ruse. This is why he was fired. He went too far. Too transfar.

[ext airport - day]

Doctor CANAVERO arrives in Tokyo. He enters a taxi and orders the driver, in perfect Japanese.

CANAVERO: Konami headquarters.

[int Konami HQ - day]

CANAVERO rushes into the lobby. He pulls out a gun and threatens the receptionist.

CANAVERO: Where is he!? That bastard who stole my face for his silly game!

RECEPTIONIST: You're the doctor... from MGSV...

CANAVERO: No! I'm the real thing. I wanted to sue him but Kojima just laughed at me. Told me to "please understand" or some shit. [raises the gun] Now tell me where he is.

RECEPTIONIST: [hands him a key card] Top floor. Penthouse suite.

[int elevator - day]

The elevator overlooks Tokyo as it ascends. CANAVERO looks at his gun and steadies his nerve.

[int Kojima's office - night]

CANAVERO enters what appears to be a luxury hotel suite. Brahms plays in the background. He finds KOJIMA sitting behind a desk, browsing NeoGAF and chuckling to himself. KOJIMA barely notices him behind the monitor.

CANAVERO: [English] You think this is funny?

KOJIMA bursts out laughing. He's just watched SunhiLegend's A Beautiful Mind gif. He finally sees CANAVERO.

KOJIMA: [English] I didn't think you'd be here so soon.

CANAVERO: I'm a man of my word.

KOJIMA: That you are. I take it your little publicity stunt ruffled quite a few feathers?

They smile at each other. At the same time, they reach for their necks. They pull at what appears to be loose skin. Their faces contort and the skin is revealed to be a face mask. Two ripped masks fall to the floor. They were disguised as each other, and now the real KOJIMA remains standing in front of the real Doctor CANAVERO at the desk.

KOJIMA: I guess you could say they riked it.

CANAVERO: [standing up]. Here, sit. The internet has made quite a fuss while you were gone. Preorders have skyrocketed.

KOJIMA instead paces to an enormous window overlooking Tokyo.

KOJIMA: I'll trust your judgment. I never was good with numbers. It'll be enough to cover your science project, I assume?

CANAVERO: Yes. More than enough.

Pause.

CANAVERO: What happens now?

Long silence. KOJIMA turns to face a company portrait on the wall. He sees all of Konami's big wigs standing and facing the camera like a school photo. His eyes focus on President Takuya Kozuki and gradually narrow. Cut to black.

this is the best uncharted 4 ending possible.

it's 2021

the chaps at unseen64 have landed a fabled copy of the unreleased MGSV: The Phantom Pain on ebay

[...]

in the outside world, barely anyone notices this unearthing of this outdated artifact. most with an interest in metal gear are too busy playing Metal Gear: Tactical Operations on smartphones and are looking forward to Metal Gear Solid: Fate Vision, the third game in an epic trilogy by ex Treyarch developers. this new trilogy plays like an Ubisoft game and each entry has handily outsold every Kojima made MGS. Konami will shut down the studio after this because they make no money. Fate Vision will be later known as one of the last games ever made for a dedicated console

29/04/15 -

Hideo Kojima, on a press event, announces he is not working anymore for Konami and that he retires from the industry: "The recent events made me rethink our work as creators, in the recent months I realized that the gaming community is poisonous and is impeding the growth of gaming. But, the creators like myself, are also partially to blame. To clean and reset this industry I'm gonna take the first step, I'm announcing my retirement from the gaming world"

A new year and the gaming landscape changed forever, GAF is now a PC gaming forum, since PC gaming never suffered from this crisis. New posters react amused as the histories told by the veteran members about how people fighted over company and hardware preferences and how GAF, in some kind of twisted butterfly effect, killed traditional console gaming. They don't believe us, but we, deep in our hearts that still cry over the loss, know the truth.

Oh my God, I can't. We truly are in the dark ages. Time travel will be invented to prevent all of this. BUT THE FUTURE REFUSED TO CHANGE.

This is a work guys. We're being played. Like some kind of instrument.

This and the fact that the guy was asking all the time about the money involved with the game just makes him look like one of those crazy people who never get support for anything because their stuff is BS.

We haven't even been able to fix 100% spine traumatisms and this guy wants to transplant a fucking human head. Ridiculous. Hope he sues and is just ridiculed because he's clearly desperate for money.

that's the silly thing about it, just successfully attaching severed nerves is pretty spotty and unreliable these days, let alone someone's entire head and all that comes with it

There was a reason I didn't post in that thread, it's because it was too crazy even for me.

It was a huge coincidence and I can't believe people kept going even when we had the shots of Ian Moore(the actor that plays the doctor in MGSV) and his scanned face from GDC.

Well done, GAF. We just delayed MGS V

Nope. No. NO. NO NO. FUCK.

That will not happen, it can't happen fuck no nonno.

It will probably end like the whole Lindsey Lohan and Rockstar thing.

At least I fucking hope so.

wow, this is just crazy. gaf may possibly make konami lose a lot of money with mgs v since he knows an estimate of how much it would sell and all because of his face (in his eyes when the game will actually sell cause its a well known franchise).

“The next project will challenge a certain type of taboo. If I mess up, I’ll probably have to leave the industry. However, I don’t want to pass by avoiding that. I turn 47 this year. It’s been 24 years since I started making games. Today, I got an ally who would happily support me in that risk. Although it’s just one person. For a start, it’s good.”

so now we all know why

Edit:

So wait... Kojima being fired is all apart of the plan? Oh lawd, if he actually appears at E3... GAF will lose it. MGS-GAF specifically.

Or he's got nothing to do with the game and just after money/crazy.

I find that really hard to believe. What kind of doctor would want money?
Plus he looks like such a normal, sane guy. It's obviously Kojima.

For real tho. I don't understand how he can go straight to doing this procedure
on a living human being without any sort of testing on something else
to prove that this can actually work. It seems like his operation a giant ruse
which is about the only this in common this guy has with Kojima.

It's just a coincidence that the actor they used looks like him.
I'm sure when Kojima was researching Cyprus he came across this guy
when looking at the hospitals and said
"Hmm, I've seen an actor that looks like that in Japan. I can use him for the doctor!".

Or everything is true and Kojima was working with the Doctor and the Patriots the whole time to make fools of us all!

All the ruse stuff aside, him going to work on a human even though there's never been a succesfull animal version of the test is total bullshit.

E. And even then theres the ethics of animal testing something as weird as this

I know it's for science, but how about started it on something smaller first, doc? How bout chicken?

No wonder nobody want to support or associate with him. The test on chimps failed, and now he want straight to humans. ffs.

This is nuts. Nuts!

They did some tests (chimps i think) but it never worked for longer than 4 (horrible) days.

I hardly believe the similarity is a coincidence since the resemblance is very uncanny.

Ohh this is going to be the whole Ellie 1st version = Ellen Page all over again, isn't it.

Eppy Thatcher

God's had his chance.
The "Wait... how much money is this game going to make? OMG that's gonna pay for the operation AND my summer home! HAHA!" comes off real bad...

Also... the whole head transplant thing. How in the grey fox are they thinking that it's going to be a success? Surely fixing broken spines/nerves would be a small first step before detaching and the reattaching someones fucking whole head?

Leaving aside that this would be the greatest and strangest viral marketing stunt in entertainment ever, the whole story of this Dr Canavero is fishy...
from this "book" on amazon with the weird index titles along with the strange reviews of it, to the cgi like picture that makes him look like a MGS character, to the whole idea of a head transplant (!!!). come on, which normal doctor would even consider something like this? This isn't right on so many levels.

This whole head transplant thing in itself is so weird and makes no sense. You would need two people who agree to do it. However I don't see a way in which both participants would benefit from it. So either the whole thing is clearly fake and is indeed connected to Kojima, OR it's just a giant coincidence that gets blown out of proportion because this "doctor" himself is a giant con-man (which would explain why he he seems to be out for money).

That would be so fucking stupid if he removed Chloe based on a few twitter comments and a message board vs an entire country.

Edit: ah it was a troll. Was hoping it was that.

Also GAF is trying to ruin Christmas!

The scariest part, is that for a little while, There were people that were happy that a whole character was removed.

Whatever happened to the "Any similarities to people both living or dead is purely coincidental" that every movie disclaims to cover their asses? Wouldn't that alone save Konami from court?

Hey, at least we aren't reddit

It's funny reading something like this. People always get offended when anyone so much as talks about GAF as if it's a single entity, running for the "GAF is not a hivemind!" line, and then proceed to tar Reddit/IGN/GameFAQs/etc. in the same brush.

What's funnier is that if something was done that reflects positively on the community, everyone has no problem acting as if all of GAF did it ("Good going GAF!", "That NeoGAF shoutout!").

As for this whole Circus of Stupid Part Whatever that's happening right now, congrats GAF. Maybe Cliff Bleszinski was right in that tweet after all.

Sn4ke_911

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.
Do the people who say "lololol what have you done GAF", "Great job GAF" or "LOL we got Konami sued" actually believe in that head transplant story? because if that's the case YOU are the freakin crazy ones, not us who think this is a Kojima ruse.

This has to be another Kojima troll, right? Right, guys? Hello? *crickets* I seriously never know anymore.
This can't be real life.
