Just finished it. I'm sure you've all discussed this but if Tawne doesn't exist from Eddie killing himself, that means he never came back to accelerate the flash "birth" so Barry wouldn't be the flash for another 5 years... time travel sucks :(

Well I mean like the singularity is probably the result of that paradox

Maybe it did? RF travels back from his original time (at that point in time a singularity appeared and destroyed that timeline), He is currently on a new modified timeline which his actions helped create.

Yeah, whatever. I don't even know if I buy my own argument. You're right. You can think in logic circles until you don't know which way is up any more. exhausting.

EDIT - Nope that doesn't work. Didn't happen when Barry travels back. Nevermind :p I don't have the mental fortitude for this :)

How can it happen at the point Barry travel backs to?

The erasing happened to the timeline where the tidal wave was coming in.

I've been thinking about it and for the life of me, I don't get why Barry attacked Well/Thawne when Barry was returning from the past. Just plain anger?

He didn't want to let him go back to the future in the first place. When Barry's told he only has one minute and 52 seconds wells tells him that enough time to save his mom then Barry replies with "but not enough time to stop you from going home?"

Why does Reverse Flash/Dr Zoom/Whatever have to vibrate as soon as he puts his mask on?

It's a cool look that helps to make him look threatening. I would like to point out though the future Barry was also constantly vibrating when telling past Barry not to save his mom. Maybe it's a power level thing.

I didn't participate very much throughout the season, but read and learned a ton about the comic side of things and easter eggs. Can't wait for season 2!

So long (thread), and thanks for all the fish.

It's crazy because there were many that thought the effects would get worse after the pilot but they've held up and improved in some ways.

That Flash ending shot is amazing, the movie will have to try hard to get something with the same impact.

I have faith in the people working on the movie so I'm sure it'll be good but I doubt it ends with something like an amazing looking wormhole destroying the city. I also think it'll be hard for them to top Wells as a villain.

What a ride

Can't wait for season 2!!

Late edit: we need a video game with the flash.. I'd love a combination of Infamous SS speed burst but while everything around you slows down like in quantum break.. Made by rocksteady

What do you guys think would be cool mechanics for a game with Barry?

We don't know yet if Barry becoming the Flash was accelerated or if it was five years, the 2020 thing was just when the particle accelerator originally went online and in that instance it did so successfully according to Wells. I guess his definition of it being successful could be up to debate.

Whatever happens, it has been an honor to have seen this show. Flash: the best S1 CW ever, only partially rivaled by The 100, but that does not count, for Flash first five episodes >>>> 100 first five :D

LOL. I posted a question on Twitter if Mark Waid was a bigger Superman nerd or Flash nerd. Only took about ten minutes and he responded. He is a bigger Superman nerd.

I thought as much, but seeing his wonderful reactions during Flash episodes made me question that. God bless that man.

The most important character in the DC Universe isn’t Batman or Superman — it’s The Flash

This week on The CW, “The Flash” wrapped up a stellar first season, ending a string of bright, colorful, and unabashedly fun episodes with an emotional finale and a hell of a cliffhanger. Like it’s titular hero, “The Flash” bolted out of the gate at top speed, with remarkably few stumbles in its freshman year. It also gave viewers a taste of something longtime DC Comics readers have known for years: that while he isn’t a part of the famed trinity of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, The Flash is secretly the most important character in the entire DC Universe.

Tricksters is not on that list. I think you need to go back and edit it.

But much love for Man in the Yellow Suit.

Tricksters is villain of the week done so right. An incredible villain played by Mark Hamill while we get some more backstory for our main villain. Fantastic episode.

Tricksters is villain of the week done so right. An incredible villain played by Mark Hamill while we get some more backstory for our main villain. Fantastic episode.

And we also get Wells creaming his jeans while describing the Speed Force, and then finally get to see Barry phase through a solid object.

The entire episode is a combination of a perfect villain of the week send up as well as shameless fan service to the comic book fans and fans of the old show. The Star Wars joke from Hamill is just the cherry on top of an already delicious sundae.

Are there more important episodes to the mythology of the show and work better when viewed in the larger picture? Yes. Man in the Yellow Suit is probably the king for that.
But for just pure entertainment and eliciting child like glee, Tricksters is the best for me.

My opinions might change upon the season re-watch though. Out of Time is only ranked so high because of that final ten minutes. The episode was solid as hell, but man that final stretch elevated it to almost god tier.

So is it rankings time? Well, here is my list with very little prep for it, and it will probably change when I re watch the season:

1) Tricksters
2) The Man in the Yellow Suit
3) Out of Time
4) Grodd Lives
5) Rogue Air

Man, it was tough with anything after those top 2. So many solid episodes. And it would be cheating to put The Brave and the Bold from Arrow on that list. Man, we need Boomerang to show up on Flash and team up with Captain Cold and Heatwave. Shit, thrown Deathstroke in the mix. The all star villain swag off, with Malcolm Merlyn and Reverse Flash staying out of it because they don't want to make it too one sided.

The finale and the season itself was amazingly good. Better then I could have ever hoped for. Can't wait to buy the Blu-Ray set on day one.

My top 5:

1. Out of Time
2. Fast Enough
3. The Trap
4. The Man in the Yellow Suit
5. Who Is Harrison Wells?

Out of Time is the best episode of any TV show I have ever seen while Fast Enough is the best finale so no wonder they're my top two.

Jesus Christ... Finally caught up, and finished the last episode...

Flash is the superior super hero show, simple as that. Breathtaking final stretch, and unbelievable finale. I can't believe that was the end. I'm legit mindblown right now

Finally caught up with the thread. What a great episode and season. I wish I could forget it all and then marathon it. Also, has anyone put rules of nature over the last part of the episode?

I finally got around to watching Rogue Air. Now that's more like the Cold I liked from Geoff John's run. I think I'll save the next episode for Monday after gorging on barbecue.
