DRIVECLUB |OT2| You Can't Rush Evolution

Got sidetracked on a random event and dove headlong into running hypers on the Kyle wet. Venom is still the most fun to drive. Hanging onto grip by mere threads!

Not actually that important
Can't find an answer with my poor google-fu and I'm on mobile atm, how do I turn off the points system and the freaking "LisaSimpsons is ahead +0:34 / MagicMike is behind -33:21” for the A.I. popping in the middle of the screen? At least visually, even if it's still there underneat but I want my screen clean of that distracting mess. I just wanna race, and the poor AI pisses me off to no end ramming me and then docking points off me on top of that, lol so frustrating

Ok....this might sound weird. At exactly 9.00 AM i got disconnected from a drift challenge with an ariel atom. I started the same challenge again and the car felt like it had more grip. I also noticed i was getting way more consistent scores during retries and the allocation of points for the corners was different then before. Can they change these things on the fly? EVO...are you messing with me or am i finally going insane?

Congrats, Rushy on the 2 million. Fully deserved. My GOTY is 2014, fantastic since Day 1 and even better now.

Yeah, I want to second that. Awesome job Rushy and Evo, especially in light of the pressure you would have been under.

Fantastic game. And the most fun I've had in a long time that doesn't include my wife!

seriously though, what's the chances of a Motostorm?

anyone getting "failed to join the game" message? I've been getting that for the past hour.

I haven't played DriveClub in a while... I wonder if there is something I need to do.

I got disconnected from the servers in a couple of tour events which is unusual. Might be something going on. Definitely isn't anything you should do.

1035/1035.

Let's see what the future brings us.

I'd be curious to know how many have actually achieved this across the whole userbase. I reckon less than 1%.

I know I never will. I hate the drift events. Actually, I hate all drift events in any race game I've ever played.

Congrats though, and to anyone who's done it, you definitely got your moneys worth!

I'm fine with this.

Seeing A full 100% near my driveclub status fill me with a little pride.

Best money spend on a season pass.

I for one can not be arsed doing this, well not any time soon. Mainly because of the drift events.

I'm interested in how future content is going to be delivered when it comes to marketing and bringing in a new user base (of course the actual content as well). There are obvious pitfalls that Destiny recently delved into which appear to need a lot of work from a marketing perspective for games that are going to deliver over extended periods in the console space and would normally be observed as a boxed game (and breath), especially as DLC still has negative connotations with many consumers regardless of how good it can be when done well.

I've had a large distaste for drift events in the past aswell, but really enjoyed them in this game. They are quick to restart and are just fun trail and error. You feel like your not even close sometimes, but when you get it all right you destroy the target.

I might give them a shot with a wheel now that I've got one. Might feel more natural and therefore more enjoyable.

Drift events were hard for me at the start too and then i realised that all of them can be completed easily once you implement the correct momentum to the car..

Once you get the principle , all you have to do is to look for the right moment to brake and those drift events are easy.

The most ennoying things in driveclub are the time attacks ones for the point to point tracks, IMO.

The most difficults DLC are :
-ELEMENTS
-UNITE IN SPEED
-SAKURA
-( the one that contain dusk untill dawn )

I personally really enjoy the Drift events. Great change of pace, and fairly easy star pick ups. Once you get the physics and points system, it's really quite easy to top the highest gold star requirement, depending on the vehicle, track and conditions of course. But I've definitely three gold starred many on my first and second tries.

Damn Dusk until Dawn... The only star I need for that entire tour is finishing 3rd or above on that track. Almost did it but slipped into 4th... I have more problems pulling up into 3rd than any other course. I'm sorta hoping the upcoming difficulty patch will help in that regard? The most difficult tour for me is the Torque tour. I'm short so many stars on that tour... Its mainly time trials I have problems with though, drifting and races I tend to be fairly ok at.

Drifting with a wheel is probably the hardest thing you can do in Driveclub, I unplug it straight away on drift events and bring out the pad miles easier for drifting.

Depends have you been on Driveclub since the server maintainance few days back? As if your ps4 has been in rest mode etc you need to power console off completely to help with your connection, Rushy mentioned it on his twitter the other day, may help :)

Here's a quick and dirty replay of the race just for you.

The hardest part is laps 2-5 where it rains. After that the race is a peace of cake. Did a lot of mistakes on this run but it's a fun race.

I'll check that out later, thanks :) It probably doesn't help that I'm pretty bad during those early laps, I have a tendency of spinning out which pretty much throws the race away!

I hope somewhat hearing throttle/brake inputs and tire skidding is helpful to you. I wish there was an option to add input bars for throttle/brake and maybe even steering.

Played the race twice after that to get top 3 (i cant be arsed to go for kie and eb4) and the worst is on lap 3-4. The heavy rain really changes the grip level and you need to be braking much earlier. It's weird especially since you cant see any brake markers either.

Feather the gas coming out of corners and keep a tight line around the long left sweeper after T1 (aim for the bush on the left side of the track) and around the slow left turning.. hairpin-ish corner.

Wasn't Sakura one of the easiest?
Sakura was not that easy at the time of release for 2 reasons:

If you didn't race on the japan tracks the week before release you had to learn the tracks

MOst japan tracks were designed in a way that you needed to think a little differently. ( this is my opinion of course )

All i remember is that i struglled 2 weeks before i was able to "get" AHR. i was doing a piss-poor job because i was unable to break properly Add in factor the weather and sakura bothered me a long time.

But when i got it , i got it , i have no problem with the japan tracks now.

My problem with dusk untill dawn is simple.
That RUF CTR-3 is garbage incarnate. i enjoy all the rufs in this game except that one.
I really paid the fact that i wasn't driving this car before this events was made.and i'm not alone in this case i think.

At least all my clubmates hate this car as well.

1035/1035 and lv65 ... Ok this game is great! I just need more of this, cars, tracks, ...

The Horsepower Trophy event is one of the best racing events I have played, great track layout while trying to get all out of the Ferrari FXX K, just amazing. I got 9.27 but I am sure I can get another 10s down.

1035/1035 here as well. Loved every minute of it. Some were indeed challenging but never frustrating. The game actually becomes better when you keep pushing yourself. This and the overall fun factor is why I keep coming back to the game.

Looking forward to what they have next!

I remember that when it came out that people were heavily complaining about it being too easy, and I even agreed back then. Might remember it wrong though.

Still need to fully 45 the last 8 tours but most of them seem to have at least one annoying event.

My skill level must be way lower. Some of the night races in the rain in the DLC made me want to smash my pad. I don't think I'll get more than half of the total stars.

NO , you're right and i was the only one complaining .. people thought it was easy but those people were just "too much" in the game at the time.

I mean , everything is too easy after you've completed "elements"

Haha, yeah I completed Elements and Sakura back to back, so yeah :D.

I found elements a breeze but sakura a bit of a bastard to get all the stars, primarily because of a specific car and not knowing the track.

The only time I have found the weather to be a hindrance was a race I set up the other day. It was SKNO1 at 2am, x1 time, stormy weather with heavy precipitation in hyper cars and difficulty at pro.

Haven't felt a sense of achievement getting a platinum before. Definitely proud of it.

I have 150 race events, and the challenge trophies to do for the platinum. I think I might have to boost the challenge trophies, though. People either ignore my challenges, or beat me at them.

1035/1035. :) The last two tours were fairly easy. Only the RUF drift event from the United in Speed tour got on my nerves, because I suck at drift challenges and it took me a while to realize that I should take a wide approach on the last corner.
