Maya confirmed for Ace Attorney 6

Athena needs to get hit by a bus, and that bus needs to get hit by a train. And in the murder trial, Phoenix needs to question a parrot on the stand. A parrot who only says "Who honestly gives a shit? It's ATHENA."

Hey you mean Trucy right? Athena was actually ok, plus her character arc hasn't been fully resolved yet, after all we still don't know
the organization/country that was involved in giving Phantom the orders to kill Athena's mother and sabotage the flight.

the technique of his masquerade should have been explained better. And it was clear that they didn't have a big enough cast, so his identity didn't feel like a natural twist. But that's a different problem than turning certain cases into ghost busters
.
If AA5 had certain aspects related to Maya, case 2 would have been a whole lot different.
fox spirit was actually real!!1

Come on...we're talking about
a man with no emotions who can pull off death defying stunts and can change his identity at will.
At least the original trilogy is honest about its incredibly mild (barring one case) supernatural elements.

Oh god...
The Maya-as-Oldbag x Edgeworth doujins would never end.

I don't see anything wrong with the first aspect in particular. The second should have been explained/revealed better.
Unlike arbitrary ghost stories, it still fits into the rest of the world generally. The former always clashes with the typical whodunnit setups, even if they become over the top. Especially since there's nothing else supernatural.

Expect it doesn't clash with the whodunnit setup at all. Where do you think is the clash?
Also there is nothing arbitrary about the channeling, it follows a specific set of rules.

She became the head of Kurain after 3, and the first game explained how mediums are secretly big assets around the world used for all kinds of stuff. Not really a mystery where she could've been.

.

So she let Phoenix take the fall while she could have channeled the dumb wizard guy to prove his innocence. After all Phoenix did for her. Quality story telling time again. About on par with the lady that gets shot during a circus show in Japan/America and wind up blind and amnesiac in an European country. Guess the family that supposedly loved her didn't look very hard at her funeral.

The lack of taste.

I like Ema's design, but I don't like the evolution of the character at all, that's why she's my least favorite.
And to be honest, Athena is probably my least favorite design too, I just liked her upbeat vibe and playing as her so much that it propelled her all the way to my first place in the ranking.

Her father deliberately hid her in the foreign country.

That's actually the reason why she is one of my favorite characters.

This is really unnecessary. She's great, but I was totally cool with never seeing maya again. :/

Phoenix without Maya is like Mario without Luigi, gtfo with that mess.

Uhhh Phoenix acknowledges that he got what he deserved
for not properly vetting the evidence he received before presenting it. He knew it was too perfect but went ahead with it anyway
.

No argument with the second part of your post though, that shit was dumb.

To be fair the two times a dead person was channeled and testified in court they didn't know the truth and in the first instance of it, basically setup a decent amount of backstory for the original games so its kinda understandable why Japanifornia's legal system would be a little wary of channeling.

Really happy to see Maya again, probably my favourite "sidekick", although I like pretty much all of them. AA4 Ema probably has the best design.

I really like Maya's new design though - she looks older and the results of her training are highlighted in her design, but she still retains the feel of the character. Good stuff!

i'm hoping Capcom USA learned their lesson and will properly localize this without those embarrassing typos in the AA5 3DS version. they went out of their way to fix AA5 on iOS and also AA1-3 on 3DS.

Hope to find a cheap n3ds by the time this comes out. That or the NX to have bc. I gave my 3ds to my little brother after playing AA5 because there was not much I wanted to play on it and I really dislike the hardware.
