My generation needs to face the music sometime. They need to know that Space Jam was never good in the first place, as all it was, was a marketing ploy and something to stroke Michael Jordan's ego. And if you think the former is all wrong, you only need to look further than this advert from 1992, which has Bugs shilling Jordan's line of shoes. Hell, they even got the same guy who did the ad to direct the movie. And to see a movie like this succeed, while the much better Looney Tunes: Back in Action bombed at the box office (probably as a result of the lack of a larger than life figure like Space Jam had) just makes my heart sink. Especially knowing that that movie's flop probably ended 2D animation's stranglehold in the box office, and made execs question the viability of the Looney Tunes brand as a whole. Whatever the reason, all we can say is...

There better be plenty of other NBA appearances like the last movie

And this soundtrack needs the best of new rnb and some rap music. If we get Taylor Swift or Katy Perry or some shit then they can piss off

He was just mad because his consultation efforts towards the project weren't used in the final film. I mean, Chuck Jones was taking the Looney Tunes characters in strange directions in the last couple decades of his life anyways.

Haha, Chuck Jones was taking everybody's characters in strange directions in the latter half of his career. Everybody knows what he did with Tom and Jerry, but the work he did on The Bear That Wasn't and Pogo Special Birthday Special deviated significantly from the source material.

The 1st one was bad besides it's awesome soundtrack...they will need to do a lot to make the sequel even good!

LeBron gonna take an L on the big screen in space.

easiest story to write , Jordan gets kidnapped and LeBron goes to save him

they steal Hardens power and the alien will have a huge beard and he will trip over it to get laughs

I actually hadn't thought of this before I read your comment, but the idea of Jordan playing on the opposite team, or somehow being LeBron's opponent would be huge for this film. Even if it's in the form of a younger CGI Jordan, like Arnold in Terminator Genisys.

Do kids even watch Looney Tunes anymore? I can't remember the last time I've seen the original shorts on TV.

They've been shuffled onto Time-Warner's Boomerang spin-off network, which you more than likely don't have access to unless you're throwing a bunch of money at a super-fancy cable/satellite package.

Wait, are there really people that think this movie is good? I thought everyone was on the same page that it was just some dumb fun.

Just like Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, Pokemon, DBZ, and pretty much all video games then

How is "dumb" fun not good?

What a damned shame. I have Verizon, and I'm always saddened to see the complete lack of Looney Tunes on either Boomerang or Cartoon Network.

Is this going to be a sequel or a reboot?

If it's a sequel, I hope it doesn't screw with the canon of Barkley: Shut Up and Jam Gaiden.

I think the problem was that Back in Action was too meta for general people and even for the people who enjoy that sort of humor the jokes werent strong enough.

I thought that said Jeremy Lin was set to direct the film. That would mean there would be a high turnover rate of actors throughout the production...and the game in the movie would be all turnovers with the score being 12-10....turnovers.

I'm honestly wondering if there's anyway to make this movie any good and not be a cheap cash in on Lebron's world wide(?) fame.

It's a Looney Toons film so all it has to do is be funny. LeBron showed that he can be funny in Trainwreck (he really was one of the only good parts of that film) so I got some high hopes.

I'd forgotten all about that film, which is weird considering my love for Joe Dante, but I did enjoy it.

I remember watching space jam as a kid and being so confused as to why i didn't like it more than I did. I was the prime age for it, but I always found the concept of it to be more appealing than the actual film.

I have a soft spot for light-up shoes and SNICK and Gak, but not for Space Jam.

I feel like being a Jordan fanatic helped matters tremendously.

They better not be CG, that would ruin the movie

Not all CG is evil.

They could always work with the same style the newest Spongebob movie used (which was still flat colors with realistic lighting).

Or, they could use this as an opportunity to come up with some kind of hand drawn/painted shader (something Pixar/Disney have put research into but haven't done anything with it yet).

can we lock Pitbull in a basement somehow in the middle of the desert so he can't be involved in this film's soundtrack, at least

Isn't that because it's really complicated? I remember them saying how Paperman was quite a difficult project.

I don't get why people say "kids today don't appreciate Looney Tunes" or "90s kids were the last generation that watched Looney tunes". LT was off Cartoon Network for 2004-2009 but it came back in 2010 and is still on now, and those weird WWE movies probably still keep it "fresh" in the eyes of kids today.
They haven't made a LT WWE movie. Yet...
