Has a story like this with a source or sources in the IC been shown to be untrue? The media has shown a very good track record here.

They're not allegations when you have literal receipts. (see: Paul Manafort and his work w/ Russia's Ukranian puppet party.)
The House Intelligence Committee sent one of its members to Cyprus this week as part of its ongoing investigation into Russia and the Trump campaign, adding a new twist to the ongoing inquiry.
Cyprus has a reputation as a laundromat for the Russians who are trying to avoid sanctions, Rep. Mike Quigley told The Daily Beast. It was extraordinarily helpful in understanding how the Russians launder money and why.

Wilbur Ross was chairmen of the Bank of Cyprus. What a coincidence!
So far the Dossier and its contents have remained correct, as far as they go. The reporting by some outlets has been excellent - and in one case earned a Pulitzer. This is a long road and will take a long time to unravel. But unravel it will.
Ironically I think Trump's tax returns will be his central undoing if they go after him directly. He's already done enough to be impeached by a willing congress, but I'm betting his true finances show some direct links to Deutschebank and Russian lenders/financiers. I imagine the investigation is already well aware of what's in them.
Trump's behavior this last week is less like a pivot, and more like a kid who trashed his house in a party depserately trying to clean up before his parents get back from their business trip.

Yup. And I think in the end Trump winning the presidency will be seen as the worst thing that could have happened to him and his friends. They might even resent Trump for being the mouse that caused the homeowner to put out the traps. This attention will ruin their lives, and I don't think they'll let him skate away.

Those aren't receipts of treason or collusion by Trump. You need something harder than that.
I still can't fathom why the presidency was his goal.

It wasn't.
I always had the impression that Trump didn't necessarily want the presidency. Him being blackmailed by Russia would make that make a lot of sense. Alternatively, he could have just been an idiot and thought the presidency was like being Mr. USA and all you have to do is go to rallies where everyone is cheering you.

Trump should have just not accepted the presidency and deferred to Hillary.
His brand is already tarnished forever imo. He didn't even want to win. It was meant to just be an elaborate marketing game.
I feel like peoples definition of "evidence" has changed dramatically over the past several months.
Financial connections between Trump and Russian oligarchs or Russian officials is evidence.
Communications between Trump campaign officials and Russian officials is evidence.
Statements made my Trump and Trump campaign officials are evidence, as are statements that were proved to be lies.
Secret backdoor communication methods that are found out are evidence.
etc. etc.
At this point is really bugs me when someone says there is no "evidence," because it's just straight up bullshit. You can move the goalposts if you want, but all of the above is evidence, and would be used to build a case for collusion.
The obvious and boring stuff is corroborated, but the stuff that matters? The pee pee stuff? I'm skeptical it will unravel much. If at all.So far the Dossier and its contents have remained correct, as far as they go. The reporting by some outlets has been excellent - and in one case earned a Pulitzer. Maybe, but I'm still skeptical that it'll show much more out of the ordinary than what an international billionaire would have anyway.Ironically I think Trump's tax returns will be his central undoing if they go after him directly. It's interesting at how different a lot of other people's interpretations of Trump's behavior is different to my own. To me it just looks like work, doing what he's doing, albeit in a very unorthodox way, historically speaking.Trump's behavior this last week is less like a pivot, and more like a kid who trashed his house in a party depserately trying to clean up before his parents get back from their business trip.
I'm skeptical of this. Trump seems to be moving in a positive direction, although the ruination of his "friends" does apply to some people (e.g. Giuliani, Christie) but not all.Yup. Exactly. Looking even at the basic facts of this case and collusion is almost a fargone conclusion.I feel like peoples definition of "evidence" has changed dramatically over the past several months.

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.
Not sure how legit this guy is.

You have no idea of what evidence anybody has, so saying there is no evidence is nonsensical.

A black man once made fun of him.
I always had the impression that Trump didn't necessarily want the presidency. Him being blackmailed by Russia and being pressured tomake a real run at it makes that make a lot of sense. Alternatively, he could have just been an idiot and thought the presidency was like being Mr. USA and all you have to do is go to rallies where everyone is cheering you.
You're kinda making my point here.
Evidence, as in, fire not smoke.
You don't know if the evidence the IC/FBI/Congress has is fire or smoke so what are you saying exactly?

This may be because of a confirmation bias. It's interesting at how different a lot of other people's interpretations of Trump's behavior is different to my own. To me it just looks like work, doing what he's doing, albeit in a very unorthodox way, historically speaking.
I'm saying that we haven't seen fire yet, so acting like it's there is premature. If it turns out there isn't any, that does more harm to the opposition long term.

I will say Treason probably gets thrown around too much though. There's a very specific definition of treason.
The only thing discussed in this case so far that could even possibly lead to treason charges is the apparent conspiracy to lift sanctions against Russia. Nothing else seems close.
Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States and having knowledge of the commission of any treason against them, conceals and does not, as soon as may be, disclose and make known the same to the President or to some judge of the United States, or to the governor or to some judge or justice of a particular State, is guilty of misprision of treason and shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than seven years, or both.
Man... people really do love it when bombs get dropped.
The stuff in the dossier that make the dossier so attractive an issue for some people. Like the pee pee tape, for example.Specify. What is uncorrobated?
I've said before that I'm aware that it could be. If it were, I wouldn't realize it because that's how confirmation bias works. All I'm asking is that others realize that they're just as susceptible too. This may be because of a confirmation bias.
I've heard Schiff say a lot of ambiguous things. When the investigation is concluded, we'll see what comes of it. That's not the same as accepting the result you want in your head as a forgone conclusion.Us on a forum board making these assumptions aren't going to hurt anything. But..we've heard Schiff state that he's seen evidence and the investigation looks to be chugging along.
And quietly defunds Planned Parenthood. Christ

This is what I mean by a positive direction. (it's not exactly positive for me. This is an analysis of the general population). Let me quote myself from another thread.
You mean how he went from "Hitler" to "very very unpleasant"? The polls may not reflect it, but attitudes toward him are changing (in the positive direction). There's still a lot of time for Trump to warm up to the electorate more. He could fuck it up, of course, but don't take it as a forgone conclusion. Stay vigilant or risk getting caught with your pants down again. Also, people are forgetting that Trump will be fucking up for one more year before mid-terms. Christ look what's happened in under 100 days.
You got the wrong message from my post. I'm not in favor of bombs being dropped.Man... people really do love it when bombs get dropped.
Thanks for confirming that having a discussion with you is fruitless because you throw out anything that's happening because the end hasn't been reached. You're not saying anything at this point.

"Throwing it out" is a weird way to interpret "Not jumping to conclusions based on as of yet no evidence of fire".
Where are you getting this from lol. He remains just as divisive as ever.
It may not be noticeable to you, but it's noticeable to me.Where are you getting this from lol. He remains just as divisive as ever.
But again, as I acknowledged to rambis, this could very well be confirmation bias on my part. I'm always open to that possibility because I have a slightly more evolved monkey brain. You mean how he went from "Hitler" to "very very unpleasant"?
