Just shot a -8 on a nine hole course. My first good round of the game. I'm streaming while playing single player if anyone wants to watch.

-7 on the open course online got me in 82ND place. Could've done a -9 if it weren't for some shots where I missed the little zone and my shots went wide 
I encourage yall to run around online. I've found customization stuff just running around the place. It's pretty cool.
Time to go to sleep gotta wake up in 5 hours lol. Best I could do online was -8. Ima chalk it up to being tired

Just played for a bit. I was really nervous because I wasn't a huge fan of the footage before release and also there wasn't a lot of coverage of the game in general. I'm loving this though. It's still Hot Shots/Everybody's Golf, and that's what matters.

I haven't played turf masters, but this game does have local multiplayer and you can even play it with one controller passed back and forth for multiple players.

Thanks. Neo Turf Masters seems to have that, too, though: "Players choose from two game modes, stroke play for one or two players, and match play for two players only." (Wikipedia)
I prefer the graphics of the NeoGeo game so I'll try that first.

Yeah, definitely forgot this was coming out today. Another game I'll have bought in a week's time. Feels good to have so many great games to play.
It's because they update at 30fps (amongst a few other things) when everything else is 60, hence you don't notice when in 30fps mode.
Yes, it has worldwide servers.

Things I've discovered in Open Course mode while trying and failing to use the golf cart.
- Each direction on the d-pad is an emote, both tapping and holding will give you a different emote in each direction. R2 does a practice swing emote, L2 makes you lay down.
- Pressing R3 will give you a menu of chat phrases, and the option to use the keyboard to create your own list of custom messages (...yikes...)
- Holding down the touchpad button will toggle between displaying your PSN name and your in-game nickname for you and other players on the course.

From what I was reading, you have to be rank 3. I noticed on the PlayStation Store you can purchase an off-road jeep to use as a cart. Does anyone know if that's unlockable within the game or is it strictly cosmetic DLC?
1080p is 60fps yeah
There's a decent amount of aliasing so 4k would be nice but isn't available on 1080p TVs
But the 60fps is real nice as well

it also mentions that some of the daily challenges are on courses you may not have unlocked yet. Hmm. So how will paid DLC work - presumably if you buy a course you don't need to unlock it. Will there be daily challenges or other 'campaign' content that requires paid DLC courses to access?
And that warp point thing in turf war doesn't sound good at all. Although if you have more people in your team you're already at an advantage, it sounds like if you're willing to spend gems on extra warps that would be a big advantage to get around the course faster

5 18 hole courses. 2 of them appear to be DLC. maybe thats the pre-order course.

Well they are 9 hole, but there is 2 per course.
like its the same style course but another 9 holes.
so as the game has become available and GAF is playing it, I'd like to ask...
some years back I was completely obsessed with Mario Golf for 3DS and I was hoping this game could be a suitable replacement.
how does this game fare compare to Mario Golf (3DS)?
if it isn't too much to ask, I'd be very grateful if the answer to this question would be more than "it blows Mario golf out of the water" or something like that, an in-depth comparison would be appreciated.
