Custom clubs where you can probably green most par 4's and albatross par 5's pretty easily.
Custom Clubs and being insanely good at the game.
I know I'll never be #1, so I play for fun and to beat my personal best. If I try beat my best, I'm happy with myself. The leaderboard is just there, It's nice to place in the top 300 on the odd occasion but, for me the overall scores of others don't really mean anything.
I assume they have their custom clubs maxed out distance-wise and they're hitting Par 4 greens from the tee shot to set up easy Eagles. My maxed custom club 1W hits for 360 yards, so I can hit a fair few Par 4 greens from the tee shot on the first few courses, depending on which tee I'm hitting from.

Well after a lot of trying over the last several days I am of the opinion ultra backspin is the way to go. The sway, while still there is very minimal with PI. What do you guys think?
Yep, but you don't need to buy those as you get a set of custom clubs for reaching Rank 7. You then use gems to level the clubs up.

Was browsing through the trophies and noticed there are finally people who got the platinum. It might be my first PS4 game where I'm going to try and get it too. I only have some VS revenge characters left and the condors, haven't tried them yet though so we'll see if it's manageable.
How many vs revenge characters are there? The difficulty with them is so random. First one I faced was holing out eagles on 1/2 the courses from 100+ yards out and hit an ace and we went to 13 holes The second one had bunkers +1 and he hit it in the bunker on 3 straight holes and I won in 3 holes.
no clue on how many...i just lost my first match to the soccer kid in 3 holes...think it was eagle/ace/eagle and i was done...lol

There's 18 Revenge VS characters.
There are 18 original opponents, so basically it's playing them all again.I've only 4 left to beat, and those three bloody Condors (and the final two hidden characters from said Condors), then I'm done.

Managing a condor looks like almost total luck and I feel like even managing one would take me weeks. Throwing that much range on a custom club and the shot precision is awful, plus there only seems to be one hole it's possible on. Will say I'm having fun with the playing style of super long drives and then fishing stuff out of roughs and bunkers instead of spending time trying to set up an accurate shot. Grass cutter ball is priceless. Fairway hit % is suffering greatly but my GIR is awesome!

From spending a good few hours trying for the Condors, it seems that the only way it might be possible is with a tailwind.
Every time I've tried there's been a headwind, even after trying repetitively for a few hours in one sitting, and I think you need a tailwind to help roll the ball in to hole 12. All the Condor videos I've watched have, coincidentally, had a tailwind...even if it's only weak.
where's the best place to grind holes-in-one, albatrosses and Condors??

Go online into alpine out and just do one hole on hole 12. Make sure you have enough distance on your custom club first. If you miss the condor, you'll have easy putts/chips for an albatross. Hole in one, you can just let that happen naturally, or just keep replaying any par 3 on an open if you want.

One thing I miss from WI is the stat read at the start of each hole with my average stroke #, it was a really good reminder about the difficulty of the hole and how I should consider altering my strategy, being more conservative or proceed ahead attacking the hole.
oh yah I had forgot about that stat...it was in all the other hot shots games...weird to not have it in this one

Wander the courses online. There's one hole on each 9-hole area that has items around it per day. The guide for which is elsewhere in the thread. Also, you might get 1-3 from some rank 7 events, too, but yeah it's sort of tedious.

Anyway anyone else getting annoyed about scores not registering ! You finish the course and get a connection error submitting or it submits but shows you your old score not the new one that's better, or you submit a score but never get the daily notice with the reward...

Open the international tournament gate Clap Hanz! There's no incentive to play online open course apart from the daily bonus one. Sure, you'll get some coins for birdies on every hole but they're useless as I've bought everything in the shop and still have 150k. Some balls now and then but yeah they're dirt cheap.

I think it tells you in the shop the dates the current selection is valid for. End of September.

It might not be so bad after all, played 433 holes with my custom clubs after the second repair. There is the rng element al leveling them up that is fucked up though, you can't even recycle a set untill it's fully upgraded and you know they're going to be worthless if you get multiple lvl 1 upgrades. I had a max power set at 352 and the next one was 382 lol.

Are you hitting the tree(close to the tee)? I keep doing that and not having enough distance or crashing into the hutt.
Finding that middle ground is difficult.

Upper-left corner of the tee box, straight shot with top spin to the right of that tree and hope for a lucky bounce off the gazebo after skipping on the water. Most of the time I'd take a bad bounce off the ground to the right of the water, or the roof of the gazebo, or end up in the rough to the left of the gazebo to chip for albatross.
The distance of my custom club might be helping me, so you might have to wait for the normal tee box or get a longer driver.

Does none of the multiplayer content require Plus? I've been able to access open courses.

I believe Turf Wars and the online multiplayer game rooms require PS+. When the online international tournaments are released, they will likely require PS+ as well.
That's how misinformation is spread. If you don't know for a fact it's not worth making the comment.
Private matches with friends do, where you create and host your own room.

I just checked and was able to connect to the Turf War team room and create/host my own room with no warnings or additional dialogues. I DO NOT have ps+.
Hahaha, I'm playing the level 5 boss on Vortex Valley. Her hit it over the back of the green on the first hole (#10) and repeatedly tried to hit over the rock wall the green sits on. The ball kept bouncing into the water. He eventually got to 12 strokes and then it said he gave up. Funny.
When my friend tried to join my private room he had a pop up saying he needed PS+ to play online.

Was this changed in a recent update? Because when I tried to access Turf Wars or creating my own private match when the game first launched it said it required a PS plus sub.

I wouldn't know. All I know is that I could join a turf war and create my own room. I haven't had ps+ for over a year.
