I really hope Chihayafuru keeps having a great and fast pacing. Cause KnT right now is pretty slow going and don't want to watch 2 anime at the same time that go nowhere.

About Chihayafuru:
If you are expecting the romance to go somewhere, you might be disappointed. Just a fair warning.

Oh look, another new trailer for Blood-C THE LAST DARK: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tA_rY5tsHQ

Dat music. Omg.

Guys, other than the fact that I can't recognise any of the characters is concerning but it was awesome! I think this may finally realise the potential of the Blood franchise!

I thought we discussed its consensus.

The truth still hurts.

Indeedy! :D To that end...

Fate/Stay Night 07:

I'm so completely sure that
Shinji
is the one behind this barrier we need to destroy, and I'm working together with the uber cute Rin to that end. Should I tell her that I suspect him so we can confirm?

HELL NAW! That'd make sense!

Shirou LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!

Well, at least you're having fun right? As much as I wanted to rewatch F/SN before I started F/Z, I could not do take the utter vapidness for more than one episode.

Man, I'm rewaching Nichijou...

BWAHAHAHAHA. How can anyone not like this? ;_;

Nichijou brofist, man!

I'm guessing I'll check out th FSN VN sooner or later.

Do it. The animu adaptions don't do justice at all.

Do people actually play VN's completely or do they fast forward through the 95% of it that's boring shit?

I really do read it. It's just like reading fanfics or books online, except you've got sound effects and pictures in the background. That said, I haven't touched another VN other than F/SN and Saya no Uta, due to the investment in time, and don't intend to touch another except maybe Steins;gate and Chaos;head.

I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS ENOUGH!!! 999 MUST BE PLAYED BY ALL!!

Hmm...Is it really that good?

Kids on the Slope 2

Show continues to impress especially in the music department but thats not much of a surprise with the talent involved. The jamming session was particularly impressive.

It's fun with the mindset that the protag is a total utter ponce to be humiliated and laughed at.

Yes, I LOVE this VN! I got both my sisters hooked to it as well and they love it! My older sister even beat me to playing the sequel, the bum! :p

Fate/Stay Night 10:

Watching Shirou get beat up was great fun, but then a funny turn happened in the middle. Watching Shirou and
Ilya
chatting like that takes on a whole new context having watched Fate/Zero.

And Shirou pulls an anime by walking in on Saber about to bathe. Because that's how this always goes.

You should play 999, it's pretty great and I like the characters design

Is this that 9 people 9 something 9 doors game?
I have heard nothing but good things about it.
I dont thinki I can play it though.

Legend of the Legendary Heroes 9-13

Second OP and ED are nice. Feel like the OP spoils stuff but I havent made it far enough to see since it only came on 13, the last episode of the blu ray. Speaking of the blu-ray, I dislike how in funimation combo packs the dvds get all the good looking designs and the blu-rays are just bland, for fairy tail and now for LOLH.

Plot wise, the political intrigue is a nice backdrop with the action, though I kind of like Ryner and Ferris plotline more than the politics. They kind of really focus on the politics alot at times.

Just caught kids on the slope. Its cool.

I'm truly inspired by Kuroko aka Japanese Nash and Amare Conquer The Pacific though.

Way to go Fumi! I'm pretty shocked she had the confidence to tell Yasuko off. I'm not a fan of the girl, but even I felt bad for her when Fumi basically told her to grow up and piss off. I mean damn, that was harsh!

Have you played NieR?

Yes, and I love it! I even played through almost all the sidequests, many of which do nothing but troll you. It was great world-building.

999 is a pretty neat game too. You have to play through it multiple times to open up the "true end" though.

Still as charming as ever. Muta's a fun character and seeing him take baby steps towards his goal is easy on the eyes and mind. The comedic visuals used to give tangibility to his feelings and thoughts are usually worth a chuckle or two. It's a good watch.

Though is it me, or do they play the main theme a bit too much?

Anyways, Looking forward to the next one.

3DS cant play DS games

I swore the 3DS was backwards compatible with DS titles.

3DS cant play DS games

Yes it can.

Fate/Stay Night 11:

For half a second there, I thought Shirou was learning. But nooooo he's being stupid.

But now Saber's being stupid too... >>;
Is she seriously falling for him? Like, what? Noooooooo Saber! You deserve better than this ponce!

n/m I think it can. I dont know. I never had a DS before.
I cant remember what format the cartridges are.
the cartridges are shaped pretty much exactly the same. if you're gonna play ds games on the 3ds then just remember to turn down the brightness otherwise it'll look like a washed out mess

Accel World 1+2: That toilet dissection earlier really changed how I looked at this show. Man there really was no coordination at all on that. While that was probably the worst part of it, even stuff like doors make little sense. They certainly made scenes adjust to Haruyuki's height and not consider how senseless it's proportioned. Beyond that though, this premise is pretty dumb but I can support that level of mobile fighting games. The future of the fgc is here. I assume there is some deeper and more sinister things in the outlying horizon of this virtual reality like in Sword Art Online (although the mmorpg thing has rpg tower climbing and I love rpg tower climbing). I don't know how to feel about all these 'social cameras' everywhere.

Haruyuki is so sadlife though I respect his globalnet avatar. Usually they have the protag in these situations mask themselves as some more visually pleasing persona. Mysterious popular girl in school gives him this brain acceleration program to get rid of his terribly cliche bully and now he's indebted to her. To repay this debt he now joins the fgc. The cast setup is pretty generic maybe the eventual twist will be interesting.

The show overall looks alright barring those terrible inconsistent toilets and other such things. I like those CG menus that pop up in the virtual overlays (other parts of the CG aren't so great though). The globalnet portion in the first episode where Haruyuki's bouncing around this virtual forest was colourful. The fight animation was decent too though not that much heavy action was going on. I'm not feeling those in-fight avatar designs, so very dull.

The one thing that kinda caught me though was some of the music. The celtic guitar piece during Haruyuki's first romp in the virtual forest was quite nice (a very natural aural association happens when I hear this sort of music and a forest environment). In the second episode when the Princess (I guess she doesn't have a name yet), explains how the whole virtual fighting works, the piece there has a nice heavy guitar. The music before Haruyuki rider kicks Ash Roller has a real get hype set of strings (reminds me something like Time's Scar). Lastly the guitar work during the fight was some real fighting game-like stuff (BlazBlue or Guilty Gear Daisuke Ishiwatari-like).

So I looked up some of the music credits. It seems like 3 parties were credited: Onoken, MintJam and Hiroyuki Oshima. While I'm not familiar at all with the third (I did look up some of his works, a varied set of genres) I've had some experience with the first two. Onoken I first got to check out because of beatmania emulation via Lunatic Rave and its predecessors. He made some very fun bms songs. His first solo album was pretty good too. Looks like he has a 2nd one now, I'll have to look into it. Next MintJam I had heard of from some of their doujin works. Particularly one of their guitarists' a2c who is pretty awesome. It seems pretty clear where they contributed. I'm going to be looking forward to the ost.

All in all, a derpy premise with some appealing aspects. Will watch for virtual fgc and music.

That sandwich scene made me rage a little. Look at all those poor sandwiches. Girl made so many. Haruyuki you dumbass, have some appropriately censored middle finger.

If anything they don't play it enough! Love that four note guitar riff.

Nah, just kidding, though I do like it when they incorporate the main theme as a leitmotif into other tracks of the OST. Kind of like how Chihayafuru did things, I think.

Mysterious Girlfriend X 3

I like how well this show captures the innocence of a first love while also looking at the fetishistic side of romance too. The music and direction gives the show a surreal vibe while still also making it feel grounded in reality.

I love that too.
A few great uses of this were found in Elemental Gelade and Sora No Woto.

Legend of the Legendary Heroes 14-15

Darn they got rid of the kid, was hoping he'd get to train up and such. But everyone is back with the king. Hilarious and good episode 15. Wish they could all stay together

Fate/Stay Night 12:

After a lot of boring stuff at the beginning, things finally started moving forward and some story progress actually happened.
Saber used her Excalibur and defeated Rider, but I wonder what reason Ilya had for being there with Berserker...

Because she's cute when she calls him to attack.

Animation is top notch as expected and I'm loving the music already. (the BGM is wonderful)

The direction and the art made the opening episode really atmospheric.

Excellent start and I cant wait for further character development!

Great show. Surprised there were only 11 episodes as I felt they could've (and should've) done more that focused on
Fumi's realization of her feelings for Akira. I went in under the impression that Fumi and Akira would end up together, so getting this ending (which I've been told is better than what the manga gave the readers) is kind of a bummer.
Oh well.

Hyouka 1

This is the best audiovisual package this season, with the possible exception of Tsuritama. I could post a bunch of screenshots, but I think it's better experienced in context. Incredibly atmospheric, even magical in places. Kyoto Animation does not disappoint.

The "mysteries" are straightforward so far, but I like how they're presented. There were some really neat directing tricks on display. The deliberate pace and mood will serve well once we get into the more elaborate mysteries I'm sure will come. I'm completely satisfied.

If she

If she
spits in it and tells him to drink it...

...she did just that.

The show is okay and all, but my stomach churns in the process.

So if Ogata would have felt something, she would have thought about (incoming misuse and probable misunderstanding) NTR'ing ol' boy?

What an bitch!
