ZOE1: maybe 3 hours if you try to do everything; there's really not much else to do once you beat it
ZOE2: about 6 hours and there's really not much in the way of side content until you beat it once; once you do, you unlock some special missions to try out in the main menu, some special bossfights in the single player that are a bit hidden, as well as a pretty spiffy 3D take on Gradius called Zoradius
I don't think ZOE2 is even six hours long. If it weren't for the AI and Catapult battle, I could probably beat the game in absolutely no time at all.

ZoE1 should be called "Fly Back and Forth Game and hit []"
I liked the flying element of the first game. It really made it feel like you had a giant robot inside of a huge space colony.

I do appreciate the fact that I get ZoE 1 but we all know 2 is where it's at. Also, yeah I want that special edition stateside.

Looks very cool. I always loved the clinical, minimalist art, like PN.03 and Vanquish. Scales very nicely, as there aren't ugly blurry textures everywhere, just cleaner, sharper lines. Never played ZOE 2, but I loved the first one.

Anyone ever play Polyphony's Omega Boost? Quite similar, although I remember OB having more emphasis on ranged combat.

I had forgotten about Omega Boost, loved played that back in the day. Agree with poster above it was more like Panzer.

The Konami Style versions are already out of stock, really?

There are always options like PlayAsia, NCSX, CDJapan...

(Unless they are exclusive to the Konami store or something)

Yup, they are (were)...

Well, with five months to go, one might hope I'll get another chance at ordering that one.

I loooove Zone of the Enders. Also, the music! Oh, the music. <3

I remember when I found out that the title screen music was flowing destiny backwards in ZoE1.

So I got interested in the collection and started to check out a Lets Play of ZoE 1 on YouTube.

The OP says:
"- Animation FMVs have been remastered in HD using upscaling techniques (they weren't made in HD)"

I think I only saw terrible CG cutscenes in ZoE so far. Are they redoing them as well?

The voice acting is atrocious, but I guess it would be too much to redo it? And the draw distance seems to be pretty bad as well, but not that surprising for an early PS2 game. Any changes about that?

We don't know what they did with the CG cutscenes of ZOE. Judging by how little anyone cares about that game (KojiPro first) I say they upscaled them and called it a day.

The voice acting is probably the same. They listed the voice cast on the website and it's the same one as for the original release.

Can't say about the draw distance though...

Man, not redoing the CG cutscenes would be pretty bad, imo. They already look like mid-90s CG. The voice acting is also pretty cringe worthy. I can't see how this is going to sell well.

me neither. how do they compare to other action games?
Well I thought the first was mediocre. The 2nd runner is pretty amazing. While the combat isn't at DMC3/NGB level, it is pretty good. The missions, the music, set pieces, are amazing. I reminds me a lot of Ace Combat 4 in many ways, but with more enjoyable combat.

Played a bit of the demo (chose ZOE 2) at E3 today and it was not 60 fps. It basically retained the same frame rate as the PS2 games (slowdown and all) and the up-rez'd FMVs didn't look too hot (pics were redrawn like shown before though).

Kinda killed the wind out of my sails for it, but since it's gonna be awhile before it comes out, I'm hoping they can hit that 60 fps like they mentioned on their site.

Didn't Konami have a very rough build of Metal Gear Solid HD Collection at the previous E3?

I'm purely talking about the 2D animated content that they showed. I take it ZoE only has CG cutscenes or something? I can't remember, I haven't played that game since Primary School...

Vita version is still confirmed I thought? To me this is a good fit on the Vita. Unless they put in 3D support, then I will get it on the PS3.

Hoping they fix this.

I DO remember an older build of Peace Walker HD running at a stupidly low framerate while the final build was 60 fps so hopefully the same thing occurs here.
