You do nice work... they made at least one good choice.I know them & I made the logo It's gonna be a rad site, trust me!
How can anyone hate Alex Navarro? I mean, when he isn't saying "That's a thing".
NeoGAF: the story of the most influential website in the gaming industry

I really dislike Alex's super snarky write-ups on the site, but he's pretty good on twitter.
Recently I was thinking about starting a videogame "the onion" site to lambast this stuff. Too stupid to really get it off the ground. I should pick up website building as a hobby.
Could the plot be kind of like Source Code, in that we live the same 10 minutes over and over trying to avert disaster?THE SOURCE
I think it's kinda funny how those here espousing this faux outrage are also people who seem to follow everyone they're bitching about on Twitter.
It's like they want to be at the forefront of bitching about them as soon as they do anything that neatly fits into the narrative they've crafted for them.
It isn't faux, it's quite real, and it isn't outrage, it's skepticism and calling foul. Do you have evidence of which of the hundreds of posters in this thread follow "everyone they're bitching about" on Twitter?
I bet it's already mentioned somewhere but who's filming the documentary?
I'm hoping that this obvious Vox trend towards insufferable douchiness leads to Arthur Geis leaving the internet for a year.
Whatever it is, it's nerds getting way too serious about shit that doesn't matter and that they should just ignore if they don't like it. I don't have evidence for my claims, because they're not serious claims, just mere anecdotal observations based on some people in this thread.
I just think it's funny how worked up people get over this stuff.
I lol'dThey are setting up a kickstarter right now to buy Tyler a camera.

I find it funnier how you are getting all worked up about people supposedly getting worked up.
LOL, nerds.
Memes. I can only assume Juul and Galloway are impressed.Typed in the URL from the video.

I'll say it. I love you @polygon peeps but this documentary about the forming of your site sets the new bar for pretentious bs. This just in
So is it supposed to be a personality driven site?
So is it supposed to be a personality driven site? Because, man. MAN.
Its founders, some of the most accomplished journalists working in the medium, hope it will broaden the possibilities for video game media, bringing new eyes and attention to an industry on the cusp of a revolution.
Seriously. It's going to be the worst website in the history if so.So is it supposed to be a personality driven site? Because, man. MAN.
Isn't that basically what many gaming sites have become? From Giant Bomb to the blog sites (Kotaku, Destructoid, Joystiq etc.) to IGN. IGN's even gone as far as to create shows specifically for their staff.
Klepek's one of the few guys in the industry who writes interesting pieces. Like, him and KucheraWhy the fuck else would people go to GiantBomb otherwise?
I think there's a problem when the teaser trailer alone puts me off from wanting to know any more.
The difference between this kind of "personality" driven site and Giant Bomb is that the GB guys don't come off like they feel the need to justify their existence, they just do good work and we lap it up because it's entertaining and actually quite informative. They acknowledge that video games are more often than not kind of dumb and that's okay.
There's this unnecessarily somber vibe coming off from the whole endeavor. Show the enthusiast press being actually enthusiastic about their field. They chose to be there, after all.
Adam Sessler and maybe Jeff Green are the only other guys in enthusiast press(you know it's coming, Jeff) that come off well in front of a camera or mic.
The McElroys eat microphones for breakfast.
