yeah i think the pion/oyage arc was probably the weakest arc in the show. i still thought the manga one was great but whatevs.

i still haven't gotten to the bonus episodes yet for some reason.

You have no idea how long I've been waiting to post this fanart. Now I can finally go to bed. I shall wake up to the rest of your impressions tomorrow.

Oh wow that's awesome. Too bad it's not bigger or I would've made a wallpaper out of it. Who's the artist?

Here's their pixiv profile.

Also, Takanashi haters can hate, because the music for Heartcatch Orchestra is awesome.
And the attack is great too -- who needs beamspam when you can summon a goddess to punch the everloving shit out of your enemies?

Here's the best fanart I've seen of the same thing, though (warning: Madoka spoilers).

Honestly, I thought most of the time paradox arc was the weakest
"most" being every part that wasn't with young grandpa
. It just seemed too repetitive to be funny.

I just realized one of the reasons the DEAR FUTURE ED from Penguindrum left such a big impression on me was that the base guitar chord in the back is meant to imitate a railroad crossing alarm. I have no idea why I didn't realize it earlier; maybe it was just such a natural accompaniment that I just didn't think about it.

So simple, yet profound.

(Someone tossed me this cover of the ED from what I assume is the official single album... now I want it)

Why aren't all episodes like this? This one blew everything in S1 out of the water effortlessly. A lot of good animation spread throughout the episode, there were so many moments. The intro with the girls fighting for Akari, the ping pong scenes, Mirakurun, that part at the bath with Akari and the water, and many other lively cuts.

Some layouts were a notch above the flat and repetitive compositions of the first season, too.

I liked the direction and comedic timing, using Akari's dream was a clever way of reintroducing the whole cast, and most gags were funny in some way or another. Akari got the focus she deserves too, and that makes me happy.

Overall, this was the best Yuruyuri episode I've watched so far on all fronts. I don't have any hopes about the rest of the season keeping up with this level.

The only good cover on the album is the agraph one.

I actually liked that one a lot. Anything regarding
time loops/manipulation
is almost always entertaining for me. It probably could've benefited better by cutting it down to a single episode but it was worth it for
that pun at the end.

I mainly liked it because I love Coaltar of the Deepers. Great band, definitely recommended.

When you have a hentai introduce itself with motorcycle driving (dust trail included!) and a bartender obsessed with sailor uniforms, it's going to be something.

Ryou is a traveler in a future Japanese America. She comes across this town where she gets some generous hospitality. Then her one-nighter is kidnapped by a sand-mech riding gang. It's funny that the settings (between this and RALL) are not wholly alien themselves, but in context they are.

This episode also gets the reward for quickest shift from consensual yuri loving between two strangers to forced heterosexual rape between two strangers. Of course, it it transitioned between WACKY 80's faces which keep the overall tone from getting too straight-faced. It's a similar idea which makes RALL show as more silly than depressing in face of the sexual tensions.

And then there's Ryou's invasion scene at the end...

The invasion scene at the end.

MECHS AND EXPLOSIONS!

This was great! It was entertaining, humorous and had animation to go around! For a contained twenty-four plus minutes, it's more than I could have asked for in the genre. I do have two minor gripes, however. First, hot pink papilla mammaria
or "nipples"
do not work well on tan characters, like Ryou. Second, I don't like Ryou as much as Caron (neither are bursting with character mind you. It's more of a design perspective), but she makes up for it with rocket launchers and impressive driving skills!
