Of course it did, it's a terrible comparison. The first group just ends up looking like a bunch of sweaty chumps with nothing to show but a sense of self-satisfaction, with varying levels of justification. The second group is pulling wicked sweet tricks, and they never really went that high to begin with, so their downhill slide isn't even that dramatic. I'd be insulted by that comparison if I were in the first group, to be honest.
