G4 canceling X-Play/AOTS

AOTS finale sucked. Then again, that show always sucked.

X-Play was slightly better. At least I laughed at Kristin's rant and some of the montage footage

But overall, good riddance to both shows and G4 in general. With the exception of e3, you was dead to me years ago

Hail to the KING baby
I feel like nowadays Tech TV could make it. Just on the hype and interest in the mobile space, people would be all over it. I think it just came out too early and really was only of interest to nerds back then.

Agreed, so happy I went with a friend to a Screen Savers show back in college, got to meet the whole crew. (Well except Leo he was out for some reason that day) :/ Oh well still have the Tech TV shirt they gave us.

What is Kevin doing now a days, anyways?
He launched his own prouction company called SuperCreative. He curently hosts a show on Syfy called Viral Video Showdown (in which Adam Sessler is a panel judge) and a soon-to-be syndicated game show called Let's Ask America. He also launced a podcast on which he recently had Candace Bailey and Sara Underwood on.

Man, that was sad to watch. I remember coming home from Football practice for four years and everyday watching both XPLAY and ATOS.

I remember and loved the time when XPlay did daily new episodes. Aww man, classic XPlay, Icons, Cinematic....

All gone.

For those that missed it. I'm sure this will help give the more hardcore TTV fans some closure.

Damn. I remember watching TTV at my fathers house as a teen thinking this is some amazing shit. It spoke to the electronics and gamer geek in me. Why good things don't last forever? :(

I pretty much stopped when Periera left. The show lost its personality at that point. Periera/Munn was a great combo. They used to crack me up.

Keven was beyond hilarious. That guy brought fucking tears to my eyes. Oh my. They things he said and did.

Do you remember the episode when he went to that porn stars house? Holy wow i was laughing my ass off through the whole thing.

I loved putting on AoTS on when I came back from work. Too bad its gone. X-Play has been crap since the buyout.

Had fond memories of just getting stoned late night and watching Cinematech and the anime block after it.Tech TV was great. I loved how they would show play through's of entire games.

Okay.

I used to watch AOTS, CHI, and XPLAY all the way back in 2005. I remember it premiering on the G4 channel and man I had a good laugh from the staff back then. I was in 3rd grade back then. Kevin Pereira was the highlight of that show and Olivia Munn.

Throughout the years, as those host started moving away from G4, everything just went down. It was just disappointing.

The channel was resuscitated , I believe, debuted via Ninja Warriors. The first year it aired, it was pretty damn entertaining but again as time progressed the US just copied it and started making it look stale. (Seriously, it was hilariously sad).

Now COPS is the only thing that's being aired and some old classic movies.

/Not suprised

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.
Cinematech wasn't playthroughs, it was trailers. And it's how it got me to buy SMT3:Nocturne.

Anyway, nice to see AotS's "secret ending." I'm glad they gave a nod to TechTV, which was ALWAYS better than G4.

$50/hour, but no kissing on the lips and colors must be pre-separated

You could always go by his twit studio, Leo is all about his fans and welcomes pretty much anyone that stops by.

Loved that final send-off. But it's also another sad reminder about how great TechTV was. I'm actually angry I didn't watch it MORE when it was on. You would have thought that type of programming would only increase, but that hasn't been the case.

Despite all the hate I enjoyed the show. Would always put in on while making dinner.
Oh well :| Will be missed.

I don't know how people are glad the show is gone. If you hated it, you didn't watch it..so why does it matter?

X-Play was still decent but...

X-Play was pretty much dead when Adam Sessler left.
AOTS was pretty much dead when Kevin Pereira left.

AOTS had a revolving schedule of respected comedians like Marc Maron, Horatio Sanz and Ben Schwartz filling in for Kevin. It was far from dead.

The one X-Play review that has stuck with my after all these years and still makes me chuckle...

Bujingai or Bujingirl!?

The full playthrough's was something different than Cinematech. They ran playthrough's of RE4, Condemned, Tomb Raider Legend and a few other games. But yeah, I remember importing several games on the PS2 after watching Cinematech.

The channel was in its decline when G4 took over and canceled all its shows like Cinematech, Screen Savers, Filter and that other review show that had Tommy Tolerico. It was a fun station to put on.

I emailed them a couple of years ago when I found out they were going to be doing a gaming show just to inquire about contributing in some way. Leo's sister replied saying he had my info just in case (which typically means fuck off :p).

I wrote back and explained that I used to watch TechTV all the time, and I got a kick out if the thought of him "having my info." She wrote back saying I should come by the studio if I'm ever in town and meet him. I wondered if it'd be that easy, but I guess it really may be.
