Hunky Nostradamus
Sammy J & Randy in Ricketts Lane - ABC iview

Sammy J is a hopeless lawyer who six years into his legal career has yet to win a case. This is not helped by his tendency to wet himself in court, nor the relentless bullying of his sadistic boss Borkman. Randy hit rock bottom after the divorce from his wife, the host of a top-rating current affairs program, "Thumbs Down with Victoria Vincent". Apart from cheating on his wife, Randy's hobbies included gambling, drinking, and cheating on his wife. After Sammy J managed to lose him everything in the divorce case, he offered his spare room at Ricketts Lane to Randy for a fortnight but that was twelve months ago.

A sitcom. With songs. And puppetry. For adults.

gpWN6eS.jpg

Boy Meets Girl - BBC2

Leo's had a bad day. He's been fired (again), is being given a hard time by his mum and, to cap it all, his blind date fails to show up. But then he bumps into Judy and finds himself deeply attracted to this surprising and beguiling woman. They bond over drinks and, unfazed by the fact that there's a bit of an age gap between them, arrange to meet the following evening. Leo's mother is unhappy that he's having dinner with an older woman. But Leo doesn't care what she thinks; he knows that he's just met someone very special.

Judy then informs Leo that she was born male. Except she puts it even more bluntly than that.

"Boy Meets Girl" is the UK's first transgender sitcom.

Hand of God - Amazon

Set in northern Wales during a time rife with rebellion and political upheaval, Wilkin must walk a tight rope between protecting his true identity while also serving a mysterious destiny.

Created by Sons of Anarchy's Kurt Sutter.

Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris - NBC

Moonbeam City - Comedy Central

The animated series "Moonbeam City" stars Rob Lowe as Dazzle Novak, a detective in America’s most fluorescent metropolis, whose desire to serve is second only to his nonstop sex drive. Mat Franco's Got Magic - NBC

Their parents are Joan, the family's adoring matriarch who would do anything for her kids – as long as she agrees with it – and John, the gregarious patriarch who's searching for ways to soften the blow of turning 70. As the family's lives unfold in four short stories each week, they try to savor these little pieces of time that flash by but stay with you forever, because these moments add up to what life's all about.

The Muppets - ABC

Scream Queens - Fox

Kappa House, the most sought-after sorority for pledges, is ruled with an iron fist (in a pink glove) by Chanel Oberlin. But when anti-Kappa Dean Cathy Munsch decrees that sorority pledging must be open to all students, and not just the school’s silver-spooned elite, all hell is about to break loose, as a devil-clad killer begins wreaking havoc across the campus.

An over-the-top, biting satire, "Scream Queens" is part black comedy, part slasher flick and a modern take on the classic whodunit, in which every character has a motive for murder…or could easily be the next victim.

A new killer comedy-horror series from award-winning executive producer Ryan Murphy.

The comedy will touch on subjects as diverse as the plight of the elderly, the immigrant experience, and how to find the most delicious pasta for dinner.

Flesh and Bone - Starz

Shot entirely in NYC, "Flesh And Bone" is described as a dark, gritty, complex series that unflinchingly explores the city through the eyes of Claire, played by Black Swan‘s Sarah Hay, an emotionally wounded but transcendent ballerina navigating the dysfunction and glamour of the ballet world. Claire’s self-destructive tendencies amid her vaulting ambitions drive her in compelling, unforeseeable ways, especially when she is confronted with the machinations of the company’s mercurial Artistic Director, played by Ben Daniels and an unwelcome visitor from her past.

The miniseries was created by Breaking Bad writer Moira Walley-Beckett (Fly, Ozymandias).

American Epic - PBS

Two British filmmakers, Bernard MacMahon and Allison McGourty, and American Producer Duke Erikson have pieced together this extraordinary story set in the late 1920s when record companies toured America with a recording machine and for the first time captured the raw expression of an emerging culture. It democratized music and gave a voice to the poorest in the nation.

The filmmakers follow the machine’s trail across the United States to rediscover the families whose music was recorded by it, music that would lead to the development of blues, country, gospel, Hawaiian, Cajun and folk music – without which there would be no rock, pop, R&B or hip hop today. Over three episodes the remarkable lives of these seminal musicians are revealed through previously unseen film footage, unpublished photographs, and exclusive interviews with some of the last living witnesses to that era, when the musical strands of a diverse nation first emerged, sparking a cultural revolution whose reverberations are felt to this day.

Chicago Med - NBC

Executive producer Dick Wolf delivers the newest installment of the compelling Chicago franchise, an emotional ride through the day-to-day chaos of the city's most explosive hospital and the courageous team of doctors that holds it together. The Art of More - Crackle

"The Art of More" exposes crime and intrigue behind the glamorous facade of New York auction houses. Dennis Quaid, Kate Bosworth, Christian Cooke and Cary Elwes spar over auction items worth millions of dollars, but beneath the glitz, it’s a ruthless story of money, sex, greed, and desperation.

It also will feature key critics of the CIA who voice claims of ineffectiveness, overreaching authority and poor image.

The Wiz Live! - NBC

NBC embarks on its latest musical holiday tradition with a live television production of the groundbreaking Broadway show that brought the vivid world of Oz to life in a fresh, funky sing-along journey down the yellow brick road.

Winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, the original show was a massive hit on Broadway and even spawned a feature film starring Diana Ross and Michael Jackson. Now, a Tony-winning creative team, the hugely imaginative Cirque du Soleil Theatrical, and a diverse cast of showstopping performers will come together to create an eye-popping new take unlike anything seen before.

Dolly Parton’s Coat Of Many Colors - NBC

"Dolly Parton's Coat of Many Colors" is based on the inspiring true story of living legend Dolly Parton's remarkable upbringing. This once-in-a-lifetime movie special takes place inside the tight-knit Parton family as they struggle to overcome devastating tragedy and discover the healing power of love, faith and a raggedy patchwork coat that helped make Parton who she is today.

The film is set in the Tennessee Great Smoky Mountains in 1955. It is neither a biopic nor a musical about Dolly's whole life and performing career, but rather a family-oriented faith-based story about the incidents in her and her family's life around the time she was nine years old.

ib70VrF.jpg

"Saints & Strangers" is a story that goes beyond the familiar historical account of Thanksgiving, revealing the trials and tribulations of the first settlers at Plymouth: 101 men, women and children who sailed on a chartered ship for a place they had ever seen. Of this group, half were those we know as “Pilgrims,” religious separatists who abandoned their prior lives for a single cause: religious freedom. The other, the “adventurers,” were motivated by real-world material objectives as opposed to spiritual ideas. This clash of values created complex inner struggles for the group as they sought to establish new individual identities and a new colony, compounded by a complicated relationship with the Native Americans. The settlers’ willingness to take risks, adapt and persevere despite the odds continues to define the American spirit to this day.

There doesn't seem to be a lot on my radar this season unfortunately. Quite a bit returning but a lot of them are mainstays at this point. And new shows are not making me interested nearly as much as they have in years past. Hopefully something big will pop up and command attention but I'm not holding my breath.

Here's my list:

Returning
-The League (FXX)
-You're the Worst (FXX)
-The Mindy Project (Hulu)
-Fresh Off the Boat (ABC)
-The Middle (ABC)
-Modern Family (ABC)
-Black-ish (ABC)

-Bob's Burgers (Fox)
-Brooklyn Nine-Nine (Fox)
-The Last Man on Earth (Fox)
-The Flash (The CW)
-Arrow (The CW)
-Nathan for You (Comedy Central)
-Mom (CBS)

New
-The Muppets (ABC)

That's it? I guess a lot of shows got moved to midseason. Here's hoping something new will be good.

Not too much. Definitely Fargo and South Park. Maybe The Muppets and Ash vs the Evil Dead.
Is Eric Andre fall? If so, him too. I didn't see him on the list though.

January/February definitely has the much better line up, though (It's Always Sunny, Archer, Better Call Saul, House of Cards). I miss when NBC had The Office, Parks and Rec and 30 Rock.

new:

Man in the high castle, yes
Childhoods end, maybe
the expanse, maybe
Ash versus the evil dead, probably
The Muppets, probably
Beast of no nation, absolutely.

old:

South Park
(doctor who? :\ )

everything else sounds kind of awful. Occupied gives me 'what?' vibes too. Maybe amusing on 'so bad' grounds, but I'm not going to make time for that. And I'm not even touching Heroes.

I'm also looking forward to Legends of Tomorrow, which should start up early next year. I'm currently watching Rick and Morty, Whose Line is it Anyway?, and Fear the Walking Dead.

There are some other shows I would have put up on that list (like Modern Family and The Walking Dead), but I'm way behind on them.

Empire. Scandal. How To Get Away With Murder, maybe.

Arrow. Flash. Agents of SHIELD.

I will watch a tiny bit of Sleepy Hollow, get sad at how bad the show has gotten, and abandon it.
