J. Cole might actually skim the top of the gangster rap barrel sometimes. He's a pretty good rapper, I like his stuff, but he talks about the same things in damn near every song - "yo, gotta get out the 'Ville before it kills me." "Damn, a n*gga gotta blow up and get out of here". It gets old fast. The mixtape that the above really stood out to me on was Friday Night Lights.
