Never understood the appeal of collecting these. You're just purchasing a bunch of plastic and junk that a console sits in. Also one of the least comfortable ways to play something so you're just left with a big hulk of shit taking up space.
It's 1993, time to learn how to sell the SNES and explain why there's no CD ROM drive! (ATTITUDE WARNING)

This video fucking sucks, and it's amazing.
The 2nd Virtual Boy one with the twin stick controls is amazing.
Some of those images really bring back memories. Spent a lot of time playing them in Target and Sears.
Been coveting one for years.
Oh man I wish I could get some of those classic Nintendo ones!!
I do have a Virtual Boy store display I got at Blockbuster Video ages ago for $30!
Also, it's not a store display but I got a 'Super Famicom Box' hotel unit back when I lived in Japan:
*not my pic

Thinking about how greasy those gamepads would be makes me nauseous...Anyone remember the Gamecube kiosks at McDonalds? I got my first exposure to Wind Waker there.
It was an early LCD TV with awful awful ghosting. But at the time maybe that registered as a unique look instead of a flaw.I remember thinking the monitor quality on this one was INCREDIBLE.
While we are on the subject of kiosks for businesses and facilities, check out these units for children's hospitals:
Damn. Vividly remember the GameCube and Xbox and Dreamcast ones. Xbox especially. Halo CE demo of silent cartographer.
I'm pretty sure that i'm the only person in history that has ever had one of these fall on them, so i've got that going for me.
If I remember correctly (it's been awhile) we had different looking kiosks in Europe. It's still very cool and nostalgic though.
Oh and those videos you shared are crazy cool.
I think they're cool from a historical perspective, but as a modest collector I can't imagine having one. They'd look really garish, take up a lot of space, and fail to serve a utilitarian purpose other than just being a cool collection piece.
Welcome Japan to Vectrex.
