September: Halo 3/360 boost
October: New 360 bundles/SKUs, PS3 40 GB

And then in come the holidays, where the the shit really hits the fan.

Today's the day! :D

Updates for next month's prediction threads:

1. Both the hardware and software prediction threads will require using the parser format to be counted. Sometimes people discuss predictions without using the parser format, and it can accidentally overwrite their real predictions. That's why we would want to go strictly to the formatted method. Also, as Cheesemeister earlier said, almost everyone used the format this month, already.

2. Next month's prediction thread will start on the last Friday of the NPD reporting period and run for one week. The prediction threads had been starting on the Thursday after the NPD period ended and running for one week, but to better facilitate discussion of the predictions themselves, it was suggested that we start earlier.

October NPD period: Oct 7 - Nov 3
October prediction threads begin: Nov 2 (previous start date would've been Nov 8)



As we are moving up the prediction threads, this, of course, means that NPD will be delayed for October.
:p I'm only half-joking. Veteran's Day is observed the Monday of the expected NPD release week. :lol

I'm hoping for a Pachter style 360 win this month. We know the Wii is going to be very big, I'd like to know it will have some competition somewhere.

That sounds terrible...but I can somewhat agree. :p NPD days are always fun. This one should be as good as I am sure 2004's November NPD was...

Yeah, that's what I meant by the holidays after that. Hardware shuffles and then BOOM - holiday spikes and killer titles released left and right. Speaking of which, NPD is out now. The wait for cryptic hints begins.

Much higher on Wii, lower on DS, lower on 360, higher on PSP, higher on PS2, lower on PS3, higher on GBA. Interesting. After seeing Canada I'm even more sure than I was before (as I said) that I'm going to get murdered on 360, though.


Anyway, popcorn's bought--and yes, I literally eat it while reading the NPD threads. :D

we only got a couple shipments, but of course, they sold out always within the first four or 5 hours of being open.

That's the minimum I expect. After all, the BIGGEST game for the X360 in its entire life span (because no other game will reach these sales) came out during this month. So, if this hasn't skyrocketed hardware's sales, next choices can become difficults...
