Giant Bombcast - | 09-09-2014 |

To continue with the anime theme and his talk about college, Dan is Haruhi. Manipulative, blissfully ignorant, and can apparently just will things into existence.

Man, I find myself trying to find ways to side with Dan or see his point of view, but No, sir, on the Cooking the Chicken, freezing it in tinfoil, than heating it in the microwave. I died a little on the inside when I heard that...

You can say the same thing about Borderlands and Diablo, yet Jeff still managed to like those.

Here are the MMOs that Jeff has played just to fuck around, all of this off of the top of my head:

Star Trek Online (bought a life-time membership for this)
Phantasy Star Online 2 (played Japanese version with english patch because he wanted in that bad)
Marvel Heroes
The Old Republic
WOW when it launched
Elder Scrolls online (didn't like it all that much)

So the man plays and occasionally enjoys MMOs, the man plays and occasionally enjoys FPSes, the man plays and occasionally enjoys bungie games, the man plays and occasionally enjoys coop games.

People kinda needs to accept that his review is going to come from a honest, experienced place. No one is going to require that you agree with his review, but going out of your way to try and claim that his opinion is meritless is just being plain old foolish.

Of course there's a lot of anime out there that is unwatchable trash, but if you're in the I-only-watch-Miyazaki camp you'll miss out on similarly great anime movies like Wolf Children and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.

miyazaki is pretty anime. he invented moe after all.

plus he wasn't even the best director at ghibli, no need to put him on a pedestal.

If you guys want to know the site Brad said, then its rosecoloredgaames.com I think...
If this isn't allowed then let me know.
Edit: For the gba stuff, modded with cool stuff.

Brad and I agree that Miyazaki isn't anime.

I dont understand Dan's sitcom ass life. Everytime he explains something like getting through school or getting a dreamcast it sounds so unreal.

They're good. I'm on the 10 snacks a month deal for $30 and I'm snacking less than they're sending. I have been with them for about 5 months now and I'm finding myself inundated with snacks. But they're all delicious.

Watch out for the chick peas, they're dryyyyyyyyyy.

Oh, and any snack with "Nom Nom" in the name is fucking awesome.

And try 1 of every granola they have. They're all amazeballs.

Serious question - why not just buy equivalent snacks at the grocery store for presumably less money?...

Last Exile is a work of fucking art. Samurai Champloo is also pretty great.

Jeff's my favorite Bomber. Even though I completely disagree with him on Destiny (I find it extremely fun, even playing by myself basically), I can see where he's coming from.

I like to think that joining GB will extend Dan's life tremendously. They're really saving him from himself every podcast.

Drew made the perfect observation: Dan would be a really successful salesmen. He's obviously got a charm that makes him compelling to people and he is unfazed when people disagree with him or call him names.

I think it's more that he just believes everything he says, even if he knows he was wrong.

Imagine if he was Moon Truther or some other kind of conspiracy nut? lol

I don't really find equivalent snacks at the store. I sometimes find them at local farmers markets, but not the grocery store. From naturebox, I've gotten dried chickpeas with wonderful flavorings, mango fruit chews, about a 10 different types of granolas, and some nut clusters that have been 0 effect for my snacking habits.

I think there are two main draws for naturebox: first, it presents new snacks to try in an easy shopping experience. Second, once you've filled your pantry for a couple months, it's an awesome surprise on your doorstep around the 11th of each month.

I'm swinging down to the 5 or 3 pack going forward, but I've really enjoyed the customer experience and the snacks themselves from naturebox over the last few months.

The thing is that the "X of the month" club isn't really new. Flowers of the month, fruit of the month, etc. It's just that for some reason it's exploding again... I guess because people are used to getting stuff from the mail.

I think the most cynical new one is Loot Crate:
http://www.lootcrate.com/

Which is basically "Geek and Gamer" type stuff mailed to you every month. It plays into the nerd OCD of collecting and also of opening random stuff... which is basically like every CCG game now or Dota2 with the crates.
