Wow what was that line of bullshit you lot fed me about TTGL Movie 2

They didn't happy end that at all! You bastards.

Actually that whole movie was kind of 'eh' except for maybe the last half-hour or so and a few scenes here and there. It looked god damn gorgeous but with no space to breath (and knowing almost all the plot points ahead of time) nothing made half as much impact as it did the first time I watched the anime.

Jesus christ that last battle though. Incredibly high definition Nia-nipples bouncing around too. Bloody oath that was weird.

I mean, it was cool... but defs didn't live up to the hype

As soon as all the episodes are out I'll buy it. Super excited to play, but fuck episodic releases

See, I think playing all the episodes of this back-to-back would impact your enjoyment. With everything that happens this episode, the last thing I want is more game- I want time to process what the fuck just happened

Actually, new people should be afraid. We get SAO 2. That's horrifying.
That is true. Who ever thought that would make us lose members.

SAO II begins next week you guys...buckle up, it is going to be a bumpy ride.

not that i'd want to post in the cesspool that is OT and Gaming *shudders*
So NeoGAF.

Is SAO good?
If you want to see 1000 years worth of fiction get spit and pissed on, sure, watch it.

Nothing Berserk inspired can be boring.
Victorian horror makes you think of that?

Also, Catherine? Yeah or Nay?
Yay.

Yay, quad-million after last week's double.

.....now to see how long SAO2 will bring in the millions.
;_______________;

Konami's purge of Kojima & Co. continues.

Y'all REALLY should play Life is Strange episode 2.

Loved the 2nd episode more than the 1st, even though it seems the whole game runs like shit and tends to look that way as well.

That ending too. Then again, we got a few really fantastic endings this week already.

Yep, getting the game to boot on PC is a fucking nightmare. I need to uninstall a bunch of drivers and re-install them each time I want to boot the game, and even then there is a high chance the game just hangs at the Unreal Engine logo.

Ep 2 spoilers
Were you able to save Katie?

Major spoilers:
Yes I was. Holy hell that whole sequence was rough on me. Saving her at the end was like a massive burden being lifted, followed by a way of joyfulness that she didn't jump. I was also fucking pumped that Nathan got suspended. I actually yelled "Fuck you!" several times while flipping off my TV just because he's getting in trouble for at least one of the shitty things he had done.

Fucking poorly optimized Unreal Engine though. Was hoping to hear that things were smoother with the PC release. Hopefully there will be a patch to clear things up. I didn't have near as many issues with Ep. 1 from a technical standpoint.

I didn't have the balls to rat on Nathan, after what happened in ep 1 if you tried to rat on him to the Principle. First I ratted on Mr Jefferson, and that didn't go well, and then I tried again on the cop.

Also, I wasn't able to save her the first time and was shocked that it was an option to save her.

My guess with Kate is they take her out of the story almost permanently as a character you can interact with outside of maybe visiting her at the hospital if she lived or going to her funeral if she died. As with Nathan, even if my life is in some danger from him, building up stuff against him and his seemingly shit family seems like a better option than piling on someone else. David, the security guard, is clearly messed up.

I'm also interested in the Jefferson angle with him trying to hook up with Rachel and then trying the same with Kate later. That bit about Kate being a prude seems really suspect in retrospect.

Here's hope the rest of the episodes can keep up the level of both insanity and intrigue surrounding the characters and town.

Whoa, I must have missed that whole thing with Jefferson trying to hook up with Rachel and Kate

More Life is Strange spoilers:
I missed it my first time through, but it was mentioned in the spoiler thread and makes sense in context of a few things. The fact that there was a rumor going around that Rachel and Jefferson were seeing each other. There's also the way he talked to Max about Kate after Kate stormed off crying near the end of the episode. The wording is a bit off for the situation at hand. "The lady doth protest too much" is really creepy, after Kate's issues surrounding the viral video.

There's also that weird section at the end in which it looks like Jefferson drives off angry after the Principal talked to him. Lots of side stuff going on everywhere.

PS4 version it is!

PS4 version is borked too, at least from my experience. It might be patched in the next week and the final version might have all the bugs fixed. Release day though seems like a mess.
Are all versions borked? I played the demo and it seemed functional.

Episode 1 was fine for me, but Episode 2 was messed up. I didn't get around to playing the first episode until a week or two after it had come out. I think they patch all the bugs out within the first few days of each episode coming out, so playing new episodes on release day means it might be a bit buggy.

Sci-fi reviewer SF Debris has started reviewing Gurren Lagann. Note that he spreads out series reviews over several months, interspersing it with other episode reviews, and that he does not consider himself to be an anime fan.

To explain, SF Debris is paid through donations to review things, and usually only reviews particular episodes of series, but one day, someone actually went through the effort of paying him to do an episode by episode review of Madoka Magica. This opened the floodgates for anime fans to pay him large sums of money to review the entirety of certain series, including a 104-episode series that he's still only covered up to the single digits of so far.

STOP SHITTING ON MY MOTHER'S HEADSTONE
Sword Art Online Episode 8: The Sword Dance of Black and White

In which Kirito repeatedly squeezes a boob in confusion

So it's been two years since the game started, which makes me wonder: do people actually age in this game world, or is everyone perpetually the same age they were when the game started?

Kirito kills a rare rabbit and then gets Asuna to cook a high quality meal. Then when they go try to hang out and fight monsters some bodyguard of hers decides to challenge Kirito to a duel and it looks like a really awesome fight is about to start but Kirito just breaks his sword in one hit and the bodyguard guy gets fired by Asuna. Asuna and Kirito then go and fight monsters and Kirito after two damn years finally realizes that teaming up with a competent partner makes going through a dungeon easier?

Oh also there's a bunch of dumb love interest groundwork throughout where there's blushing and the girl being friendly and the guy pretending not to care and WHATEVER. Big ass boss monster is here, let's hope the next episode gives us some actual action in this show that is theoretically about fighting monsters in a virtual world.

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
I like it when SFDebris reviews anime. He doesn't try to review it as an anime, but as just another one of the many series he already reviews. Star Trek, X-Files, Doctor Who.
You won't see him complain about "subs vs dubs" or anything like that. Just a look at a series that could be good or bad.

They even have Beserk blades/movesets in previous games. Speaking of Berserk has there been a good anime adaptation so far? I remember the old OVA's being ok but stopping right before the series got really good.

Noooope.
The movies were ass, and still haven't gotten past The Eclipse.

STOP SHITTING ON MY MOTHER'S HEADSTONE
Sword Art Online Episode 9: The Blue-Eyed Demon

In which there is actual action

So the episode starts where the end of the last episode left off, except it completely changes the tone of the scene and adds dialogue and the animation doesn't look as cool. Okay. The big demon from the last episode roars and the main characters just go "NOPE FUCK THIS I'M OUT".

Asuna and Kirito then run into that guy whose name I forgot who is the lighthearted friend character. Then some low level guild comes in and tries to take on the boss. It doesn't go well. Then Asuna runs in to save them and Kirito runs in to save her and there is an actual fight scene omg. Kirito pulls out his super cool sword and surprise! He can dual wield swords, which is apparently a thing no one else can do. He does his special attack which we later learn was a 50 hit combo and kills the boss basically on his own.

Then Asuna says she wants to leave her guild temporarily and travel with him and he's like cool. Then the leader of the knights or whatever decides that he and Kirito are gonna fight over Asuna like she's property, and not like she's a high ranking guild officer who can make her own decisions. So apparently that's gonna happen next episode.
