Still you saying the LU team is great is you drinking the Kool-Aid a bit too much. They are not that great. Adequate would be a word I'd use.

I just said they're the best out there today.

Better than...

-Josh and Tazz
-Cole, JBL, and Booker
-Kelly and Corino

Like avengers23 said the NJ on AXS commentary is way better.

How? Define 'way'. Josh repeating the same 6th grade/middle schoolers joke about the Bucks that anyone else would give King a ton of shit for if he repeated a joke that many times? Like who the fuck cares that Josh Barnett knows some indie guys in NJPW? Who has he ever beat in pro wrestling? Or Mauro getting half the move names wrong and ALL the pronunciations wrong?

I question the AXS commentary being 'great' as people drinking Meltzer's kool-aid.

Mauro Ranallo is my favourite commentator now that Regal isn't doing it anymore. I have a soft spot for the NJPW announcers even thoug I speak no Japanese. Enthusiasm goes past language.

All the current commentary is completely superficial and adds nothing to the matches or storylines. It is in such a useless state that no one is better than anyone else because none of them add to matches. It's just noise at this point. There is no JR making a moment seem bigger than it is or Ventura prodding holes in babyface logic or Gorilla and Heenan reminding you who's bad and who's good without blatantly saying it. Purely noise. Like playing music over a movie.

Funny thing is the Japanese ISEC if you weel hates the NJPW announcers

There's a rough patch due to the March Takeover show getting moved up a month to February, so all the angles got rushed to a finish and they then had to tape two or three months worth of TV without any angles in the space of a week, right after Takeover Rival. The whole month of March really screwed with the scheduling between the touring shows and Mania week..

So it messed up the whole creative for the past few months. Expect it to pick up after next week's set of tapings (the first TV tapings since February) when it starts building to the May Takeover show.

Yeah WM and the last set of tapings really put some brakes on the show sadly.

Next week should be great, 3 way between Charlotte, Becky and Bayley with Becky coming out on top then crushing the False Queen at the next special. Guess Charlotte is spared the indignity of the main roster for another few weeks at least. Then we have another Owens Riley match which should be some good schadenfreude for most people in this thread.

Don't know why they are still doing Corbin squash matches, seriously prove to us that the guy can actually go. We get it, he's dominant, he's got a "look" and "presence" even if they are both thift shop biker and unsure if he is in the right place respectively. I felt incredibly pandered to by Dana Brooke, ugh her mannerisms are fucking awful, overbearing and seem so out of place in the NXT women's division. Although they are using the "Diva" terminology so much now :(

On the couple of Yano DVDs I've got subtitles for there's a few matches with the commentary translated - Nogami's got great enthusiasm and is fine when he's doing play-by-play, but when he's talking with his co-commentators they go off-match and babble about meaningless shit just as much as Cole & co. In some ways, we're better off not being able to understand the commentary.

Baaaaasically ignorance is bliss. But it drives me nuts sometimes. Still, the tradeoff? No thanks.

Dana Brooke looks rough, very rough.

They shouldn't have put her on TV just yet if this match is anything to go by.

Keep in mind we all felt the same about Kaitlyn and she got competent, even decent. There's always growing pains, but we'll see.

The tag title booking has been questionable as fuck this year, firstly for having Meiyu Tag drop the belts back to Doc & Eggman on their first defence, then for having The Kingdom win the belts just because the fans love "Dynamite-o body-des" Maria Kanellis. I'm not sure what the pay-off is or what this does for the tag division. It's just weird.

Maybe they're trying to rebalance the scales that have been tipped in favor of Ibushi-style twinks.

So they can do title changes at the ROH shows. Briscoe taking the straps!

For better or worse New Japan is built around the heavyweight singles and they needed Goto to be available to challenge Nakamura. Taking the belts of him and Shibata freed them up and does provide a reason to bring back Maria and her backup dancers.

MK's story mode was pretty good

I'd buy DmC Remastered if it came with an option to disable all story stuff. The gameplay modifications they made are legit.

What do you mean "story stuff"? Cutscenes? All are skippable...

There's also the in-game segments where you walk around while characters dump exposition on you. Pretty sure those couldn't be skipped. Shit like that annoys me massively. At least Revengeance let you fast forward through codec conversations.

Anyways, maybe I'll pick it up at a discounted price in the future. DMC4 Special Edition is on the way and it looks even more legit.

Ugh DMC4. Did they fix the part where they doubled the length of the game by making you do it twice?

That was so good. So good. The actual characters in DmC were pretty great. I expected to cringe a lot, and cringed none. I mean for fuck's sake, Virgil has a fedora. But everyone was wonderful.

In a random episode of LU in Spanish (was it on Telemundo or Unimas?), Vampiro and Hugo are not bad. It got my dad excited at least!

Unfortunately no. But now Vergil, Trish, and Lady are playable and have their own small storyline stuff. So at least some of the retread parts will be a little easier to swallow with some new move sets to fuck around with. It's sad DMC4 got rushed out a little early by Capcom, the gameplay in 4 is probably the best in the series. Honestly though I'm pretty sure DMC4-SE is just a primer to get people hyped for a yet to be announced Devil May Cry 5. DMC4-SE comes out in Japan during E3, which I don't think is a coincidence. Plus the DMC4 team haven't been working on an announced project since Dragon's Dogma wrapped.

My god, DMC4 is looking amazing.

Itsuno's team doesn't look like they've missed a beat. Also, visually DMC4 has aged surprisingly well.

LOL. Is that real?

Ugh, DmC's story was embarrassingly bad IMO

This, the lighting is always good. I've never missed a thing because of it.

The only episode that sort of disappointed was last weeks and if anything I would rate that as a B episode. Yesterday's episode was so good though and it definitely deserves an A+.

Btw, why are people mentioning that Pentagon Jr was in yesterday's episode? I didn't see him so I'm wondering where he could've showed up. Any info on this?

This has to be my favorite gif of Lucha, love how Puma is contemplating getting in that ring with Cage after he got hit lol.

I give it to Lucha. Wrestlers can sell their asses off. Puma having a quiet moment after being hit with a trashcan lid though....

... Wow. Starrcade 1993 was overall terrible. Which is bizarre, giving how absolutely fantastic the main event was. I love how slow it was. The finish was a little weird (and IMO, not very believable), with no Figure-Four from Flair to outright beat Vader. But it was nonetheless an amazing match.
