PS+ July 2015: Rocket League, Styx, rain, Mousecraft, Geometry Wars 3, Entwined

Why are people even responding to Vibrant? He's obviously nothing but a troll with nothing to say.

He's using "They probably pre-order games." like it invalidates someone's opinion. You all should just be laughing internally and ignoring him.

I had only caught the tail end of his comments, but I know better now lol.

There are two types of people in this thread:

  • Those who are excited about Rocket League
  • Those who have not played Rocket League

Again that is subjective and you don't decide if people should feel fine or not about the value they get on the products and services they expend their own money. Each and everyone of us gets their own money and each has its own scale into how much they appreciate each dollar we earn. If people see poor value then it is their perception and it isn't any better than yours that perceive good value.

If you can't find anything worthy with what PS+ is offering, then send your message to sony by stop paying for it while most people find it worthy before they're not even halfway through they're subcription.

Speaking for myself, it only took 3 months ( maybe 4 ) to justify a year subscription. Thats 8 fucking month left. sooooo awesomeeee.

I am very open minded and like to try game even if they don't look good to me but end up enjoying most of them ( hokohum, Apotheon, never alone, rogue legacy, the unfinished swan, transistor and i am missing a few going by memory, all enjoyed playing them )

Yes, i had a 1 year sub for free with my ps4, but i'll be on the fence to renew for another years and so as long as the service stay awesome like it is.

Who says I will not complain to sony about this? This thread is terrible in understanding that people value different things and that every paying consumer is ENTITLED (yes that word) to receive the best service they think possible, that is the whole reason they are paying customers.

Bottom line is that it seems a sin in this threads to say "I don't like the offerings of PS+" and even worse to not like indie games or to want old AAA games above new indies. It is great if people like indies more than AAA games or retail games or whatever but complaining about why people complain about the perceptive lack of value on the service they are paying for, is acting like a borderline corporate apologist .

The issue here is that people are misjudging things they haven't yet played.

PS+ this month is worth it solely for Rocket League.

If it isn't, then you aren't a fan of anything fun, and I question why you pay for PS+

I am not interested in Rocket League. People get their fun from different things. Is why there are different kind of approaches to the same genre. And like most people that have a PS4 I pay it for online mostly, but since the services is an entire package I would want the games that I am paying for to sometimes be of my interest. Otherwise I will suggest Sony to make a lower tier of PS+ so I can only pay for online and miss on all the great indie titles they give currently on PS+.

I can not believe that Rocket League is going to be free... After the beta I said that this would be my GOTY. Now to hear it's coming free of charge? I'm freaking out.

Then how on Earth can you possibly expect every single month of PS+ to satisfy every single type of person?

Mind you that at this point it doesn't even seem like a genre people want, rather than a specific game. Which leaves the question, "why don't you just buy that one game, rather than paying for an annual service for the slim chance to get it for free?"

I don't. I never say that. PS+ current state has been bad for over a year (since the release of PS4 actually) I clearly said "sometimes". I am mostly against the mentality in this thread that PS+ is a sent gift from heavens and everyone that doesn't see the value of it is wrong and that no one should complain because we are paying only 13 cents per day for the service.

Again the main issue is that I am oblige to pay for the current games when I am not interested and haven't been interested for almost 2 years. I would rather pay for online only and be done with it. If Sony pushed the games on a $60 tier and let online-discounts-cloud saving on a $40-50 tier I would be OK with it and most likely take advantage of it. And I could see a lot of people coming with me and the bitching on PS+ thread from the last 2 years will diminish a lot because there are going to be less people oblige to pay for a part of a service they aren't using or care.

I have no idea what game are you talking about, if is Knack or Assassins Creed BF, my guess is as good as yours. I know I would rather have BF than any other current PS+ game but that is my personal preference.

It currently costs $50, and you are okay with that price if you don't get games? You want them to raise the price of PS+ for people that want the games? You make zero sense.

Wait, there are people who pay for PS+ at full price rather than waiting for it to go on sale?

The Xbox Live Gold I paid for this year was $30. That's the value I place on it.

Rocket League is good.
GeoWars 3 on Vita is good. (shame no cross buy though.. Or cross save???)

Decent showing. it has games I will actually play. Cant say the same for the last few months.

Yes I was implying that. I would rather the online only to be between $25-30 personally but I know how business works and I know that the only way for a subscription fee to go down is if another of "increased value" goes up.

Yeah that would be cool. Not gonna happen, but yeah. I can't remember the last PS+ game I bothered downloading.

So really, because you don't like the games offered in the past two years even though they cover all genres, you want people that like them to pay more money. You are okay with continuing to pay $50, and get no games, while the subscription cost of others increases. You gain nothing because you pay the same amount, except you lose any games that you might like. This is hilarious.

If you look out for sales, it's pretty easy to get a year of PS+ for $30.

Yes, how is that hard to believe? I want a cheaper online only tier for PS+ if the games offered for PS4 are going to keep being what it has been for the past 20 months. My consumer part wants that tier to be priced $25-30, that will never happpen, the best is a $40 tier but that will never happen either, why? Because subscriptions fees never go down.

So when (not if, when) PS+ services goes up, I would want a separate tier for those of us that are currently not interested in the games offered by PS+ for PS4. And we all win, everyone in this threads will be more happy since less people will bitch about lack of value on PS+ and we that don't like indie games stop subsidizing those who do.

How would we all win? You want the price of PS+ to go up. I think many would be unhappy if that happened. How is it guaranteed the price will go up? I don't recall the price of Xbox Live going up. In the end, you want to pay what you are currently paying but get less, which is just ridiculous. You seem to be jealous of the people that have an open mind to actually try out the games being offered.

The people that are defending this month are probably the same people that pre order and wonder why games are released broken.

I never pre-order and I tend to buy games when they first drop in price to about $30. I defend these games as interesting and varied. They seem to be good games. The vile hate that goes on in these threads when games that aren't AAA shootbangs (or Knack) are announced is horrible and people should be ashamed.

Xbox live was $50 once upon a time. There is a thing called inflation you know and products and services usually face price adjustments every few years to match that. Also I said WHEN, I am not asking sony to raise the price now. Meanwhile I am entitled to ask my money's worth of Sony based on the previous performance of PS+ on the years before online was behind the paywall. Is like people forget that on 2014 we got Tomb Raider of PS3 and Bioshock Infinite on PS+ and those were retail games with less than a year in the market, meanwhile the only retail games we got on PS4 were Injustice and MGS GZ a 7th gen port and a paid demo.

Fuck this service. It's spoiled gamers too much and it was a terrible mistake.

PS+ was a mistake, its nothing but trash.

Ps+ had injustice, a newer game than black and a retail game already. If anything, it's black flag that's competing with that from 6 months ago.

Pretty much. GwG is finally catching up. How about MS is finally catching by offering GwG at all.

The people that are defending this month are probably the same people that pre order and wonder why games are released broken.

Last game I pre ordered was The Old Blood. Before that......some attempts to pre order at Gamestop a few years ago that I wound up not doing, I thought I did at the time. In my lifetime of gaming I have probably pre ordered.....once. The Old Blood.

So where do I fit in?

I like some of the offerings, I would like more if I didnt already have them. I wanna defend this month like the last few months.....but some have defended it better than I could, or I dont need to say whats already been said. Entitlement complexes these days....

No one is forcing anyone to download, look at, play, install these games. I didnt take advantage of PS+ discounts until a few years after it started. I probably use the discounts alot more now in the past year than I have since being a subscriber...and I joined when the IGC service started.

Those that dont like the service, dont buy it? Or dont download the games if you dont like them? Again, like most PS+ threads lately.....I am glad its there because I would have never played Knytt Underground, Guacamele, Terraria (one of my fav games right now) I probably woulda passed up on Demons Souls too. And Spec Ops The Line. And PES. And Remember Me. And Vanquish.

But hey.....it can go back to when there was no IGC....and that somehow will make some happy...instead of just ignoring the games....

Yo Led, what kind of games do you like? What are some of your best recent game or some of your best game ever? You seem very limited into genres considering the good variety even if mostly indies. What current gen platform do you own man?

I'm not saying you're THAT specific guy, but i can imagine a casual Call of duty player having to pay 13 cent per day to play is only master race game online, not caring about anyting else, hoping for 6 new AAA+10/10 call of duty game every month for free to justify their subscription, but they rather paying less to only play online.

Yes i am over exagerating. Again i'm not saying you're that guy, but do you even try any game? indies games are not for everyone of course, they're mostly aimed at old skool gamer i think, but even if its not aimed at you, give them a try at least.

Makes you wonder how some play games when they appear to exhibit the memory and attention span less than a goldfish.

You do know you pay PS+ as a whole and not just to get your so called "indies" and online:

The $50 you pay for a year of PS+ gets you:

- Games across all 3 platforms
- Discounts of to 75% off
- Game trials (PS3 and coming soon to PS4)
- Exclusive Betas
- PlayStation Originals Series
- Online on PS4

if you don't like to pay a year of PS+ for that value you can pay monthly $10 for when you feel like playing online and not bitch about it.

Just stop. They didn't charge more cause of inflation, because my ISP or cell phone doesn't inflate, in fact they always been giving MORE bandwidth for the same price.

MSFT charges that because they think/know they can. Just like when the 360 came out it was $50 for first party, and $60 for third party. They only changed first party to $60 when the flagship Halo 3 was announced. Why?

Cause they think/knew they could. Then Sony followed soon after. They didn't need to up it, they don't pay themselves the $10 licensing fee per game (hence why 3rd parties were $60 to begin with). But announce it with Halo, and people will not blink an eye.

If anything they should not have gone up any more than cell phones or ISP's do. They should be adding more features for the same price over time.

But they knew they could. It's not inflation, or the games would have followed suit.

My favorite game is between MGS2 and SotC. My favorite recent game would be MGS GZ (which I pay $30 on release and though it was a paid demo, but I am guilty of buying ZoE and never play it and only got it to play the demo of MGS2, so I though that GZ was better value at least I didn't bought a $50-60 game I don't care about), but I enjoyed Bloodborne, The Witcher 3 to great degrees.

I have a PC and a PS4, I also have a PS3 but I am preparing that for my nephew who already got my old Vita and PS2 back in the day.

And like I said I play indies and mostly don't like them, I think I played all the games on PS+ since the release of PS4 and the only indie game I liked out of the bunch was transistor and never alone, Valiant Hearts and Resogun aren't exactly indies. I think that I get better value out of my time by doing other things rather than playing indie games.

It's only $50 and you can get cheaper than that at various points through the year. I don't think I've paid more than $30 per year. You're splitting hairs on price when the cost is already the $50 that you're requesting, not to mention that it can be found cheaper anyhow.

I agree that it's definitely a bummer that these threads are always so negative.

Enjoy Rocket League. I'm sure you will have a blast. One of the biggest surprises for me in a long time. Totally expected this to be some mediocre game that would bore me in minutes. A certain someone tells me that a GAF Tournament will happen so I am really excited to see that happen.

For any who haven't checked out Styx, I had a blast with the PC version. Haven't tried the PS4 one, but if you're a fan of games like the original Thiefs, it's definitely worth a play IMO.

Yes and I say as much on previous post. That doesn't mean I can't complain about part of a service I am currently paying for and think it is lacking.

You want to discuss if the effects of inflation aren't real? What?

So you get your most favorite recent game on the service and still feel the urge to complain?

I bought on release and mentioned as a plus on the current state of the game, but I am partial as hell because I know the game is basically a rip off that takes advantage of the fanaticism of MGS fans. Like I said only us will think that paying $30 for MGS GZ is good value. As a PS+ game I find incredible that it is on the service but I don't full myself I know well that it is a paid demo and that the actual value is very little for the non MGS fan.

So expressing an opinion about a gaming service on a discussion forum specific to gaming is "bitching" now? Lovely.

if you keep repeating the same statements multiple times in a thread, yes I would classify it as bitching.

If you express your opinion and move on with the thread discussion then it is a valid opinion.

Of course this is just my opinion ;)

No you can't have it both ways. PS+ has been amazing for your tastes. You should let people who enjoy other games make the same call.

Looking back at line up, I'm still not too enthralled with it, but at least all of the games, apart from Rocket League, are something I would at very least like to try out. So I guess I can't complain too much.

Edit: Styx in particular is one I really need to try. I've seen as many people say it's total shit as I have people say it's amazing. So I'm really curious to see which side I fall into.
