The Witcher 3 has the same random moments that Dan/Brad said didn't exist. I've witnessed people praying at idols, guards fighting off Nekkers etc. It's not a Bethesda only thing.

Also, The Witcher 3 is my ideal of breadth and depth.

They're not saying it's Besthda only, but that they do it to a much larger degree and at a larger scale than anyone else. Agree or disagree with that of course.

I think that Dan even talked about it before.

Lets not forget Witcher 3 had its issues, but the issues there kept getting patch after patch. Also vanilla had a liveable amount of jank. Nothing like FO4, where game where the frame rate is tied to simulation speed and other such nonsense.

Dave Lang dropping the truth bombs about the "organic growth" of DOTA2 & LoL.

It is definitely weird to see games come out of the gate proclaiming that it's an e-sport but I also understand what devs & publishers are trying to do.

What exactly did Iron Galaxy do on the Batman port?

As massively widespread as Batman:AK's problems supposedly were, it seems a little weird to me that Dave Lang claims it was a surprise when he started getting Twitter-bombed shortly after the game's launch. Someone who worked on the game would have to know that it was borked, right? I suppose it's possible they just worked on something like art assets or audio, and had no idea that the clunky builds they got were actually going to be the shipping version of the game.

Sober Lang is as great Drunk Lang. Informative rather than hilarious.

Yup. This is why companies go the white label route. He's history's greatest monster, but even he doesn't deserve that garbage. :p

Lang's comments on the Batman shitfest is a perfect example of why greed and corruption runs rampant in this world.

"You don't fuck over your partners even though you are wrong"

get fucked asshole.

Yeah, ruining his business and screwing over all the people he employs so he could make some comments on a podcast about videogames would be such a great move. That'd bring justice to the world.

Yeah well there are people that choose to do the right thing and those that dont because contracts. Like i said, perfect example of why greed and corruption survive so well.

What's the right thing? Telling people exactly why the PC version is fucked while ruining a big business relationship he has with Warner Bros, which hurts his own company and all the people who work for him?

Even if the truth comes out it's not like anything will change the current Batman PC situation. All it would do is hurt Iron Galaxy.

Warner Bros is offering a full refund for anyone who bought the game on PC. People in the future will be extremely sceptical of buying a Warner Bros PC game before hearing whether it's busted.

At this point what outcome would there be from Dave Lang breaking a contract and spelling out why Arkham Knights port was fucked that would make it the right thing to do?

Spoken like someone who's never worked for a large multimedia company before.

And what would be solved by Lang talking about what went wrong, solve? Nothing at all. It'd be an interesting discussion, but it's not worth it to him, his life hood, the people he employs, and his potential partners.

Jeff's sentiment about Bethesda games seeming so impressive and impossible on consoles last gen is spot on. I remember thinking a game like Oblivion on 360 was too good to be true.

Fast forward a decade later and some of that jank just doesn't fly anymore. I guess part of that too is because PC tech is so far ahead right now versus when Oblivion launched and it was hard to buy a PC that could do console settings.

I beat the Witcher 3 and I'm 7 hours in FO4 and I've already encountered bugs in FO4 that I have never and probably would never in the Witcher. Like, there have been entire areas in Fallout where no textures loaded at all, so I was falling through non-existing objects.

Because each podcast has its own discussion to get into rather than fanfiction about who secretly hates who and who'd you want to be your daddy.

I believe the audience for the podcast is much bigger than the audience for the site itself, and the podcast has enough listeners on this site to warrant its own discussion separate from the OT itself.

Dave would be in breach of contract and would probably lose his company.

No doubt about that. If not "lose his company" it would be professional suicide to talk on record about something like that. You can bet on WB having some really draconian clauses in their contracts.

"The game was tailor-made for consoles. The PC version was an afterthought with an insufficient budget. Warner Bros. decided to cut the chord at some point." - completely made up quote

It's not exactly difficult to imagine what he would've said. There's only so many ways a game can end up like that.
