Alex coming to SF V on March / PS3 sticks compatible.

Loooool, 2000 wins for a DLC character. Looks like I'm waiting for the game to hit $30 so I can pay another $30 to play as characters I want.

Defeating higher ranked fighters online should get you a lot more FM. Also playing through character storys should net you a lot of money as well.
As veteran Blazblue scrub i laugh how lazy people get when a free option is presented to get characters.

How dare you make me play more than 5 minutes to unlock stuff you pay for in other games

So relieved to hear ps3 stick support is in.

Time to bring this beautiful beast back out.

So damn pissed that I didn't have money when they were selling those for $20 on Black Friday that year

Edit: Probably mentioned earlier in the thread, but I wonder if the backwards compatibility news was the final straw that made the Mad Catz execs step down.

I imagine the idea behind the "earn fighters in game" is that you can work towards the one you want, rather than unlocking all of them as they come out

I'm sure you can but whatever. I have no problem paying for the season pass, it's Street Fighter and the base $60 gets you a Street Fighter-ass Street Fighter game.

Although I haven't checked, I can guess Amazon PS3 sticks are going to sell out/go up in price now that this is confirmed.

Poor Mike, getting his announcements spoiled. It would of been great announcement.

We dont know if the FM values for winning/losing have been finalized from the last beta. It could have changed.

And you're not taking into account SP content and daily challenges.

lol. Madcatz has been selling out of TE2s since launch. Even with multiple fighters supporting legacy devices, they'll continue to sell well.

This is what I do in the games I mentioned like Marvel Heroes. There's way too many characters that get released on that, and they release frequently enough that I don't have to grab them all out of boredom, but I get to cherry pick the ones that interest me. That said, I still have pretty much all characters in that game, but you don't need them all. The same will go for SFV I'm sure, unless you play offline, then you would probably want them all for sure.

If I still played offline it would be worth getting the season pass. I don't so I get to play favorites since it's just me playing. In Heroes of the Storm I only have a few characters unlocked, which include Witch Doctor, and the Starcraft Zerg Queen because I like the "throw pets and ai stuff at them" gameplay. Looking forward to Necromancer! All the other characters can be invisible to me, though I might get Gazlowe because he has turrets and is fun.

How? It shows up full price in my cart.

The only way Sony allowed that driver previously was because it was sandboxed in-game as a security thing. So, unless they changed their policy, it will likely be the same.

Yes, please elaborate. I checked previously but no discount.

Add it in your cart and the price gets discounted on checkout. But remember, Prime members only.

Great. Now will wait for release to confirm ps3 stick support just in case. Will buy as soon as confirmed by real customers

I'm a Prime member but it shows "Order total: $66.14" above the "place your Pre-order" button. Did you actually purchase it with the discount?

There won't be anything requiring the touchpad, will there?

Having to switch controllers to press one button in USFIV PS4 was kinda annoying.

As far as I've read, the touchpad function will only be applied to training mode as a shortcut when you want to reset. Other than that it shouldn't be a requirement.

The TE2 and TE2 Chun Li Mad Catz sticks for the ps4 do not have a touchpad implemented in them.

Just in terms of single player content, this is how much you'll have to do to earn enough Fight Money to buy a single character

That seems reasonable to me.

Thank you! It does seem reasonable.

I actually think this fight money system is awesome if Capcom does what they say they will do. It will keep people learning the game in various non-grindy ways:

1) It will teach them different characters (fight money for finishing the story and leveling characters)
2) It will teach them different concepts in the game (daily goals).
3) Fighting games are about...fighting! Ranked play sounds intimidating, but later on, leagues should help everyone get some wins by matching them up with people of comparable skill. It might be rough at first until the better players move up and away from scrubs like me! Haha!

So there's no Sagat in this game? What happened to him in the story?

He's as integral to SF as Ryu or Ken.

He's never been anywhere near as integral as either. There's a reason he doesn't show up in spin-off games and didn't make the cut in SF3.

In SF4, he got over his grudge against Ryu and returned to Thailand. Doesn't mean he won't show up eventually.

Where the hell are people getting 2000 wins from?

Are people just making up numbers now to prove a point?

No we are going off up the beta's currency of giving you 50 FP per victory, and 0 FP per loss. Not counting anything else it would take 2000 wins to reach 100,000 FP. Obviously we have no idea if Capcom will change it (I doubt it though). I think we will most likely get a healthy amount from SP content though and daily bonuses though. My guess would be everyone will most likely be able to get at least 1 character relatively easy. No way to really know until release or Capcom spills the beans on everything

Capcom have said that if you beat arcade mode with every character at release you should have enough FM to buy the first dlc character.

How long will getting to player level 200 take for the trophy? Were there player levels in the beta?

50 for victory (0 upon loss lol) means 2000 wins to afford a character. You get one character by clearing all the single player content, and I don't know how much doing your MMO dailies would give you to offset the hilarious amount of playtime it would take to get another, especially if you're a newbie or trash.
