A case can be made for Martin.

Someone suggested to me Russell is being chased primarily for his shot blocking which would strangely make sense as there is no one on our defense that does it. I haven't looked into it, though.

Edit: he is 2nd in NHL behind Beauchemin

Martin and Russell aren't the kind of signings a board would be in on - by name or by type of player.

With Martin seems like Lou is thinking about having all three of Marner, Matthews and Nylander this season.

Watching the Panthers/Islanders series to understand Ekblad's game, and I'm almost paying more attention to Matheson. I'd put money on a breakout next year for him, his skating and puck-handling is fantastic.

The Panthers swapped Kulikov, Gudbranson, and Campbell for Pysyk, Demers, and Yandle, add in Ekblad and Mathewson and that's a great defense.

Campbell is huge loss, you can't understate that, but the new guys they've brought in on the back end are fantastic. Pysyk is very underrated too.
