Cars.com, the automotive classifieds site, said Wednesday that it’s pulling its advertisements from Sean Hannity’s Fox News show.

“The fact that we advertise on a particular program doesn’t mean that we agree or disagree, or support or oppose, the content. We don’t have the ability to influence content at the time we make out advertising purchase. In this case, we’ve been watching closely and have recently made the decision to pull our advertising from Hannity.”

Yeah, dude has been flying pretty close to the sun over the last few weeks for sure.

How hard is it to just... act normal. (At least "normal" by Fox News standards.) Is this part of some brand strategy to appeal to hardcore conspiracy people, or is Sean Hannity having a genuine personal and professional breakdown right now?

That's the thing, he's been crying wolf for so long I can't tell.

Maybe he finally drank his own Kool-Aid?

People keep saying he's trying to get fired, but I feel like it's more likely that he's coming out as what he really is: an unstable, irrational Trump cultist, just like his other rabid followers.

"Freedom of speech"

Did I get them all?

Edi: I forgot "SOROS!!"

The corporate undermining of Fox News gives me hope that at least some of the elite in this country understand how dangerous the direction we've been heading in is. They're taking action to change things and I congratulate them for it.

Why now? Did I miss something?

Google Seth Rich.

tl;dr: DNC staffer that was murdered last year in Washington, DC, in what authorities believe to be a robbery attempt. Hannity has spent the past week promoting a conspiracy theory that he was the source of the Wikileaks emails -- therefore, it was not Russia and there could obviously be no collusion with Trump -- despite no evidence supporting that theory and despite pleas from the family to stop peddling false information.

The family of Seth Rich have been pleading for people to stop politicizing their son's murder as presumably the result of a botched robbery but nothing more.

Sean Hannity however, is going on about it anyway even when Fox News is already pulling the brakes, and now advertisers are seeing a PR disaster for what it is.

So, he'll be gone by the end of the week. Enjoy.

People want to believe the former, but when you actually look at the past of Sean Hannity, I think it's very possible that he's just cracked and gone full Alex Jones, because he can't handle that his Network is going through some big changes and that with the right in so much power so many things are still going wrong. Dude really is, I think, legitimately unstable.

He's only been harassing the family of a murder victim to push a nonsense conspiracy theory supported by Kim dot com the national inquirer and 4chan... nothing major :/

Well, that is certainly something.

Last week was a massacre for Trump with major revelation after major revelation. Conservative outlets, especially Fox News, decided the best course of action was to deflect and simply talk about something else. For Hannity, his topic of choice was to perpetuate Seth Rich conspiracy theories, the kind of thing you'd find at Breitbart, if that.

edit: beaten by being a slow typer. :(

I want him out as much as the next guy but lets not get ahead of ourselves.

A similar thing happened at youtube and it caused a significant shift in how they handle videos at the platform. I doubt it would be any different for fox. Either adapt or die. I hope the latter happens here lol.

Who would have thought that the election of Trump would be the downfall of many Fox reporters/hosts!

It seems to have awoken a lot of people from their stupor. If you have an education and live in the real world you can't witness what is happening with Trump and just ignore it.

I dunno, once the advertisers started going, O'Reilly was gone pretty quick, and he was way bigger than Hannity.

Also, anyone have a list of Hannity advertisers? Because since this is obviously happening now, I'm going to be sending some e-mails out to anyone who applies to me and tell them I'll be canceling or not buy whatever.
