I haven't watched Neo Yokio.
I probably won't, unless I get really bored.

I wouldn't be surprised, heck maybe that's where I heard it.
It just makes me think of those shows & comics that only tried to replicate the art style back when anime/manga was becoming more main stream but put more effort into capturing the look instead of the story/characters.

i mean, not necessarily EVERYTHING just like...i dunno, it'd be interesting if the good ones got some press as opposed to a stray mention in a review here and there and some Ghibli stuff.

I remember him beating Lt. Surge, Koga, and Blaine fair and square., but every other gym in the first season had some type of fuckery.
He put out a fire at the Erika's Gym that he was indirectly responsible for starting and got a badge for that lol. Haunter made Sabrina laugh so hard she couldn't continue the match so he was given that badge.
The last gym was a clusterfuck because Team Rocket was made the leaders but when they got sent blasting off they dropped the badge and that was how Ash "earned" it.
Yeah, Giovanni left Viridian City after the Mewtwo clusterfuck and gave Team Rocket the job.
Oh yeah I forgot about Koga. They hyped up that Haunter fight too lol.
Rocket even interrupt that fight.
That sounds like asking for trouble considering the "amazing" skills they have
