Wish I could go to SCR; would be my first fighting game tournament to be at. I'm in walking distance of the place and I just happen to be away during SCR. :[

Are you not familiar with Jago or something? Dude is basically a fighting game heel, and he's awesome at it. It was only "expected" that he fight Combo after since he destroyed Mike Ross. If Mike had won the crowd would not have been begging for a Jago/Combo match. Our boy lost and we wanted his tougher big brother to come and pound on the dude that beat him.

Sorry to inform you, but I knew wrestling was "fake" the moment my mother saw me get hyped from it, because she told me what was up.

Sucks to see our players calling each other "frauds," when they're all fraudulent. Good shit!

I would question how is "fake hype" better than "skill & gameplay," but I'm just going to leave it alone.

At the end of the day, I'm mad disappointed (especially since Marvel 3, a terrible game, is already hype enough) and there's nothing I can do about it, besides look at Marvel vs. Capcom 3 players a tad different now.

Meanwhile, I hope Jago and Mike Ross play each other in AE2012 before he leaves...

lol right, and other fighting game players are so much more sophisticated and wouldn't belittle themselves with such petty things like calling each other frauds and having a good time. SRS BZNS all the time.

At least, other fighting game players don't actually run their mouth, trying to build up dat Mahvel 2 hype, just to give people a tasteless ending to an exhibition, because they got scared. lol

Talk is cheap, yo and it has nothing to do with "SRS BZNS."

At the end of the day, we were all denied Justin vs CF for very petty reasons, and that's what pisses me off. Would have been the perfect ending to an otherwise great night.

Yes and neither was Knives vs Jago, so what's your point? Justin vs Combofiend was one of the proposed bonus matches and if the entire room wasn't hating on Jago, that's the match that we would have gotten.

I thought Jago vs Knives was just fine. Knives is relatively unknown but has been doing surprisingly well recently against some of the best. After his performance against Noel Brown, I was curious to see how he'd stack up against Jago.

Because all this occurred on stream when Gootecks was calling for the to crowd vote on the matches? And I'm pretty sure if cooler heads prevailed, the crowd would have gone for Justin vs CF, but hey gotta get that revenge on Jago.

Yeah when Knives was starting to make a comeback it made the matches worthwhile. I still would have preferred to see the two titans in the room go at it though.

For JW vs CF i could see a match with old champ vs new champ per say (Justin was dominant early on but now its basically Combo).


Gootecks asking for the CF vs Jago match due to the crowd hype.


Sounds like Jago just wasn't ready for CF yet.

if this was still vanilla, it could be a battle of the she-hulks. they were both dominant in early mvc3 and fought in the grand finals at which i believe was final round? combofiend won that, so i guess justin wong could want revenge. but that was long ago, and of course they've since moved on to other characters.

Gootecks is pretty much exemplifying right now the problem with the ambiguity in the term "eSports" in the context of the FGC.

But I do sorta agree with him, BarFights is the best marriage of so called "eSports" and the FGC so far and it's a great look for everyone.
