Ugh. There should be a mandatory rule on GAF that if you're going to post videos with WubWub, you need to put some kind of disclaimer so people can auto-mute on load. Ugh.
:lol
Agreed.

How much will optimizing the game help the performance, realistically speaking, do you guys think?
/Local is pretty much the same thing, the chat really only spreads as far as the region you're in.

Nah, the common /say just goes a few feet, mostly with an npc-like speech bubble. It's great for roleplaying issues and doesn't go over the whole /local area.

And yes to turning off the chat chirp. I thought it was just some repetitive ambient bird sound until someone in GChat pointed it out. Then I could not unhear it.
They definitely have some elven overtones, but to call them "Night Elf"-esque is somewhat of a disservice. Kristen Perry did a great job with their redesign;
I would like to see them add a crosshair option, similar to Tera I guess and other third person games.
The added precision plus not having to constantly hold down M2 to look around would be great.
I could rebind Mouse2 to something else if they added it in.
When I mentioned the chat beep sound it seemed like I baffled so many people in guild chat, it was hilarious how many people didn't notice it until I pointed it out. lol
I got lost in the entire chat of GAF guild. Do we want to split the base between the PvP base versus the PvE folks?
It's just nearly impossible to really do anything with anyone due to like 50 voices speaking at the same time.
I wish alliance chat was back or something.
The main reason I didn't bother joining the GAF guild. I will gladly form up/join a PvP/WvW squad on release.
I mean eventually people will do dungeons and just form up for whatever. Since I know some other GAF folks tend to work all day and don't have much time to play, I often want to consider scheduling at time for doing these dungeons.
I've been thinking about the guild splitting into timezones, but that may be a bad idea.
NeoGAF EST, CST, MST, PST, so folks can be split a bit better. Again I'm not sure how this would function and it seems like a terrible idea.
It don't know how hard it would be to implement, but there really wouldn't be many functional changes at all. The only real difference would be setting your current target as what's under the crosshairs, which is how Star Trek Online does it.
Looks like they're doing some hiring over at ANet.

If you're not in the guild, you don't get benefits and splitting people up would leave other timezones or even other groups in general out of benefits that the less active group of the two or three or four would not get.
For me it would make a big difference just because of a few things;
1. Hard to use AOE abilities because you don't know where your mouse is while using mouse look, this also disables your ability to turn effectively (have to use A or D while aiming).
2. Easier to target enemies in groups, currently you have to either TAB, click, or hope that the right mob is in the center (many times I end up hitting the wrong enemy this way). With a crosshair you could aim at exactly who you want to shoot. Perhaps add an option to turn on enemy highlighting when you place an enemy under your crosshair.
3. Right hand won't hurt anymore from constantly holding down mouse2.
4. Can rebind Mouse1 and Mouse2 for different things like abilities since you don't need them to target things or look around anymore.
5. More actiony, I think this would work very well with Guild Wars 2's highly mobile combat, as opposed to say something less so like Guild Wars 1.
Yeah, I didn't even get to try PVP or WvW! So mad ... but that's OK, probably would have soured me on the whole experience playing as a melee. Can't wait for more though!
I would say that is impressive if I had any idea what was going on lol
... I missed the beta didn't I.
AOE is the only one of those that might be a problem, since those skills are ground targeted rather than being projectiles that travel in a straight line.

Cooking is considered our advanced craft. It will cost you more money, karma, and time traveling the world than any other crafting discipline.
Pro Tip: Every cooking recipe in Guild Wars 2 is a real recipe for real food in real life (or a basic approximation). If you think you are close to figuring out one of the combinations, google a recipe for the food you suspect it might be, and odds are, you can find a bunch of recipes for things like that to try out.
Damn...
Damn...
Damn...
Did Europe GAF get going? I'd be up for joining next time.
Btw here is a really good PVP ele video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afcZ20bbfkY&feature=player_embedded
He uses almost the same build that I found the best for PVP ele (I had a different elite though), except he just plays it much better than I did.
If possible, weapons and armor will fill this bag before other empty spaces.
Items in this box will never appear in a sell-to-vendor list and will not move when inventory is sorted.
If possible, crafting material will fill this bag before other empty spaces.
If possible, junk items will fill this bag before other empty spaces.
Yeah, if anyone didn't see the different types of bags here they are:
sogood.gifNever forgot. Watching that mortar destroy that trebuchet instantly was the highlight of my
beta experience.

Hmmm. Except for the crosshair physically showing up on screen, this is more or less how combat works for me with a gamepad, unless you "promote" a target to primary by tabbing or clicking onto it. Since there is no crosshair it's just whoever is in the path of your skill which is essentially the center of your screen/window. There's an item in the options you need to definitely not have checked (promote skill targets to full targets). You could tape a crosshair to your monitorFor me it would make a big difference just because of a few things;

Im actually seriously considering getting us our own mumble server so we can have different rooms and it be easily manageable. Let me look up some prices and i'll work it out.I agree. This is why I suggested that my idea was horrible already. I wish the mumble server had a few separate rooms where I could talk to others in peace and not be interrupted by someone else talking.
Do you have to find these bags or is it an option that you set?
That Ele PvP is really good, but the guy is downright retarded for ignoring his downed enemies.

I really liked the tradepost format... when it worked.
Listing how many items of each were being sold, which were most popular, etc was really neat. Being able to put specific bids as a buyer was neat too.

Honestly man I ran a Sword/Shield & Hammer for 8 hours in WvW and didn't have any issues. Having that S/Shield combo saved my ass more times than I can count in only one day of playing. Yeah I switched up to range when on top of a tower, but that's when we were outnumbered 6:1 and it's not like we could take them on toe to toe.
We actually have this, it just didnt make it in time for the Beta build.

So there WILL be a sell all junk button on vendors:
Kinda wish they didn't even include junk.. was sad when i realized there were grey items.
