Obama doing a super-long version of the "fired up, ready to go" story now.

You can sense the sentimentality there. It's kinda sad. But at the same time, the audience is once again feeding off of him; his back-and-forth with them is so damn good.

30 minutes until Dixville Notch, NH!

It is interesting, but I had been thinking about a 538-type site for a long time. I am a stats and numbers junkie and always thought it would be cool to do, but I am no follow-througher.

I am glad Nate does it, as I enjoy all of the numbers gaming, but proclaiming him as anything more than a malleable calculator is giving him too much credit.
I feel like this is the consensus among informed parties.

One of the early baseball prospectus guys in the 90s does modeling for my buddy's firm. He says they were all fiddling around with side stats products like that, and Nate had fantastic timing with 538. But that it was no reason to take anything away from him.

It would be interesting to see if the Republicans ever get a rock star like Barack Obama.

I have never seen a group of grown men get all giddy at any politician like you guys do over President Obama.

If he wins the popular vote by only 1% or 2%, think of what a charismatic GOP candidate could do to shift public opinion. and no, Rubio, Ryan, Christie, or any other current GOP national politician qualifies as of yet.

Man, sitting back listening to Obama talk about four years ago makes me remember that at this point four years ago I was extremely pessimistic that my candidate John McCain was going to pull it off. I was so concerned that this commie socialist Obama would screw up our nation so terribly. Four years truly is a long time.

You're better off here, Comrade.
