Basically it shoots lasers at investors who ask about Nintendo putting games on mobile phones.

There is a bunch of amazing photoshopped pictures in this thread; but this one post made my stomach hurt

Damn, I never expected any of this when I clicked the thread; tears, man, tears

I don't hope this is the very interesting Wii U-related news coming tomorrow. I had hope for some game annouments.

I dont get why people are complaining about this. It looks like a unique litle app that would only be possible on the Wii U. It took litle time and resources to develop and it paves the way for future Google/Nintendo collaborations. With this and the comments by Gabe Newell Patcher is getting more and more ammo for his upcoming show.

I've just scrolled through this whole thread and that picture is now burnt into my retinas.

Ha ha, for the same reason someone made a furious topic about how Nintendo of America posting a cartoon on Nintendo Video is responsible for delaying the release of Animal Crossing in North America.

Everyone is so strung up and strung out at Nintendo right now. If every public action from them isn't directly related to announcing a AAA Wii U game with new IP and sophisticated graphics, someone loses their shit.

Anyway, on with the photoshops.

Am I the only one that lost it at this?
Kawai
When you came to present it in America, the Google staff had the exact same response. Suzuki-san came for two days.
The rest of the quote also sounds suspicious
The people who saw it on the first day were like, "That's amazing!" Their excitement spread around the company, so on the second day, the meeting room was so full of people that you couldn't get in!

Suzuki
That's right. So many people came that the room filled up.

Eventually I'll come to it, but would anyone mind giving me a complete archive of Iwata Asks? Thanks in advance!

Iwata looks so happy in that picture. Its so adorable. :)

because they're wasting resources on a game game feature that NOBODY asked for.

I don't know what's funnier, people saying this kind of shit or the photoshops.

like omni-directional images of Carnaval do Rio de Janeiro

I would think Nintendo would need to edit the hell out of this to release this as Wii U Panorama View. I just imagine all the Brazilian Booty

The Panorama view E3 demo already had Carnaval. There was booty, but not as much as you'd expect. When you finish the "ride" it shows the placed you looked at the most and everyone spent way too long looking at the same girl.

Because drift is three dimensional and simply knowing you're pointed in the general direction of the TV wouldn't be enough to fix it. Not to mention these are geomagnetic sensors. Any devices that generate magnetic fields, pretty much most electronic devices, can affect them slightly

Drift is three-dimensional? The gyro is only necessary for determining yaw; pitch and roll you can get from the accelerometers, and those don't drift. And the gamepad doesn't keep track of its actual position in 3D space, does it? So the drifting should really just be one-dimensional (around the vertical axis), and again, I don't see why the geomagnetic sensor couldn't be used to keep that from happening.

You might have a point with electronics affecting the sensor though, although I doubt it would be significant enough to completely throw the "compass" off. You're not standing right next to your TV or speakers when playing.

Love this thread, it's amazing how something so inocous causes so much vitriol, but with Nintendo all bets are really off. It's some neat tiny app people, get over it. This is borderline "they took our gamz" nonsense.

Lol at all the photoshops of course.

I hate to say it, but this is essentially IGN/youtube commenting levels of preposterous backlash against a perfectly harmless app. "GAMING IS DEAD BECAUSE OF CASUAL GAMERS" only counts when we're actually talking about a game.

Serious question though? Is it possible to purchase the Google Maps device that Iwata is wearing and do your own navigation and recording, then upload the data to some software and see a street view of where you walked?

You really look at that and think it's a consumer-level product? One of those backpacks probably costs upwards of $20,000 to manufacture and there's maybe a couple dozen of them out there.

In all this insanity that is gaf and all the recent news, reading an iwata asks is like coming home from a long visit in the psychiatry. Feels good man.

Edit: Nevermind. Should have read the thread first. xD
