Killzone Shadow Fall is the best looking next gen launch game

I've been more impressed by Ryse, to be honest.

But Shadow Fall looks great, yes. The absurd amount of lens flare contribute to that, I guess. And Shadow Fall also took the Orange/Blue rule of the video game box-art covers and put it into the game. Loads of Orange/Blue lights everywhere. the end result is, of course, very pleasing.

Looks very crisp and nice, but I don't see any improvement in physics. Still has those typical canned killzone death animations I hate. The gameplay looks fun, but also nothing new. Crysis multiplayer is leagues ahead of this based on what i've seen.

Just looks like a KZ3 with better textures and better IQ.

Just joking but now you see how PC players feel when people say their versions of a game is only a high res version with better textures.

What am I supposed to be looking at?

To be honest, this looks pretty much like almost every game on PS3/360.

If this is what next-gen is offering, I'm glad I'm skipping it.

Lol watch the 6 minute video he posted. No PS3 game including The Last Of Us touches it visually

Shall we post some of those TitanFall gifs just to kicks?

This is as far as I will go so you be the judge....

Could I have chosen a better KZS gif? Yes.

It's very pretty. GG are very capable developers on a tech level. The gameplay just looked ok to me. Like a slower cod.

If would say its actually the best looking game we know of as of yet.
Even better than Battlefield4 on PC. Battlefield may have bigger maps and stuff and because of the destructable environments you can say that it technically superior, but in terms of effects and things going on in the frame and just the graphics you see... Killzone is superior.

KZSF is 1080P and this is the MP. the SP will be even better than this.
IMHO graphically, Ryse is inferior and by quite a margin

Have to agree. The GC Footage does Ryse no favorors. Can't put my finger on it but it just looks so bland and uninspired.

This game is insane for a launch title. That first party magic. Games are going to be utterly ridiculous 5 years from now.

Technically Ryse is superior. 1080p with most settings set to high or very high. Very impressive imo

Right

Really hope that every game doesn't do that "super slowed down so blurry you can't see anything with giant particles flying everywhere" effect...
That would get old really fast.

That's when a player gets stunned by the owl. If you watch the 6 minute video, you'll see it happening to other players from a different perspective.

I fucking adore this stupid goddamned trend of discounting any game completely and utterly, simply for not being 60 fps.

The ridiculous rejection of reality can be astounding sometimes.

So much this

I agree on DC but with Ryse it's weird. When I first saw it at E3 I thought it looked amazing, but the new GC footage has made it look so bland and underwhelming. Is that just me?

I haven't watched the Gamescom because the game looks bland to me aside from visuals, I'll give the new stuff a look later.

kill zone looks average compared to battlefield. the scale of that game look incredible.

tough look kill zone really. with battlefield and COD out aroun the same time it will get over looked.

Not everyone can buy everything and I would miss kill zone over the other 2, because I know what my friend will be playing

If you compare battefield next gen consoles version vs KZSF on PS4, sorry but KZSF smokes BF4 (which at the moment is not a native 1080P game btw)

BTW, can somebody give me the link to the mega-big version of the Killzone Shadowfall MP gameplay trailer? I think I've seen a 1GB version somewhere

At least to me, it looked incredibly boring. I think unibspired is the right word to use here. Even the graphics aren't as good as they seemed

Ryse is a strong competitor imo.

I'll wait until both of them are released

Ryse is starting to sound like a better game since they apparently changed the combat to not feel like a QTE fest that we saw at E3. The fact that it was described as feeling like the Arkham games in a sense makes me want to play it a lot more than any shooter. But alas, that exclusivity prevents me.

Nothing! I said nothing!
Ryse for me but I've never liked KZ at all so maybe clouding my judgement.

Infamous looks better than both of them to me but that's not a launch game.

I haven't seen BF4 next gen directfeed footage, don't think there is one yet. All footage so far seem to be pc version.

To me, next gen games look like current gen games with particles and PC level IQ. I don't know how other PC gamers out there feel but personally I haven't seen any actual gameplay of any game that really shows me something I haven't seen before.

Tech demos are a separate matter entirely but that's not gameplay.

Dat confirmation bias.

It's OK wanting to skip the next generation of consoles, but the mental gymnastics you're using to justify skipping it is pretty damn laughable.

This so hard.

Too bad the game is going to be as boring as a sack of rocks

I'll wait for a price drop. Not paying 60 bucks for that.

No. This is all opinionated. Now I have always liked realistic visuals, SF does not look at all as realistic as BF4 on pc. If you like the fantasy look, fine but at least BF4 as a whole is 60fps, 60fps already makes a game visual better.

To me KZ SF looks more impressive on a 55'' tv than BF3 on my 1440p monitor.

Doesn't bode well for next gen.

I take it this is your first generation transition.

Launch titles always look significantly worse than games released later in, and honestly if you think this looks bad I think you might be clinically blind.

Can't wait to see this thing on my VT60 plasma. Still think the most impressive Shadow Fall demo was the city fly over they showed at the unveil.
