Tyrunt reminds me of a Gen 4 Pokemon, especially the subdued colors (Compare to Gen 5).

But it has all the best aspects of that gen and none of the worst.

It's such a shame this is coming out around the time as the Playstation 4, GTAV and Beyond: Two Souls.

I would love to upgrade to a 3DS/2DS and grab this game, it looks amazing so far.

Braixen is just too awesome. Using the stick as a wand is a really cool feature. I agree that Quilladin isn't that bad, but still it's the worse starter...

The new changes on the types are really interesting, especially paralysis and spores. Oh and Furfrou has a really interesting concept, I thonk I'll catch a ton of them. I'm a little disappointed with the decreasebof Megarchomp's speed, but I guess it would really 1HKO everything on a sandstorm...Strongest Pokemon ever.

How can Furfrou be the "Poodle Pokemon," if actual poodles aren't also a separate thing in the Pokemon world? Weird.

Anyway I'll probably get one and name it after my poodle! I hope the shiny version is black.

See this just makes me afraid that the final typings will be:

Fire/Fairy
Grass/Steel
Water/Poison
They wouldn't end up that way. The Steel typing would mean that Chespin3 would murder the fire/fairy type and be half-immune to the water/poison type.

It's Fire/Psychic, Grass/Dark and Water/Fighting.

There are numerous classifications like that. Mouse Pokémon, Rat Pokémon, Ball Whale Pokémon etc.

That doesn't work but Grass/Steel, Fire/Fairy and Water/Fighting does. The PokeBeach types are very, very likely to be true but the way Chespin and Quilladin are going Grass/Dark doesn't really fit.

There's not really much else that's shaped like that you would find on a theropod dinosaur.

Actually as I linked before, I think it's based on the Amargasaurus' spines, which have been speculated to be a sail rather than spines.

It makes sense for a few reasons - it's probably where its' name comes from (Amargasaurus + Aurora) and it's an excuse to give it a huge, frilly back that looks like the northern lights for its final evolution. :3

EDIT: Also it's revived from the Sail Fossil. That's a bit of a giveaway. :p

Oh man this game is looking sooo good. Can't wait to see the all the starter's final form. The character customization looks decent too.

Just for fun I was trying to draw some parallel for the Flareette's names.

I noticed:
Celosia= Ce= Cerium
A silvery metal

Bryony= Br= Bromine
A red brown liquid

Aliana= Al=Aluminum
A silvery metal

Mable=Ma=Masurium, the original name of Technetium
A silvery metal

I'm no science whiz but I find it funny that 3 out of the 4 are silvery metals (and Team Flare likes money/wants to make Kalos beautiful. Silver can be tied to beauty, etc)

Byrony confirmed for betraying Team Flare and helping you out.
EDIT: Byronia is the name of a flowering plant. Confirmed for undercover professor.

those aren't the final evo of the starters, right? They don't look like final evolutions, to be honest.
anyhow Mega Garchomp looks glorious, I guess he's going to be even more broken.

They aren't. I just realized that we haven't got new fish pokemon.

I hope that new fossil pokemon would have stage 2 evolutions.

Depends on how much of a boost it'll get, but probably less broken due to the Speed being lower and not being able to hold Choice Scarf. Garchomp doesn't have the best of Defences either, and being a Dragon-type it'll now be vulnerable to an additional type, Fairy.

Heh, Mega Evolutions sure change the metagame as far as held items are concerned. I'd like to say that a team without a Mega may actually be able to still play well.

Conkeldurr is probably the worst.

It's supposed to be pronounced "Conk-elder". It instead rolls of the tongue as "Conk-el-durrrrr."

The only difficult Generation 1 name was Gyarados. That Y makes no sense.

I didn't know Conkeldurr was pronounced the first way. Now I'm holding in my laughter on the bus

I would assume that teams without Megas would be able to function similarly to those with them. The mega stone can only be used once per battle, and we don't know if the pokemon will revert upon being withdrawn (I assume it won't, but who knows). Also, if mega evolutions do become the new metagame then a lot of pokemon who don't have megas (the majority) will probably become useless. I'm kind of hoping that a pokemon can hold a mega stone and some other item, but that probably won't happen

Edit: Do you guys think there will be a new rule saying that you can only use a certain number of mega evolutions per battle in competitive battles? Like you can only mega evolve one or two pokemon per battle?

Mega Kangaskhan is pretty badass.

Seen a bit of speculation involving Diantha being the Champion, please don't be true.

Qulliadin has massively grown on me, I really like all of the starter evolutions now, in fact I like pretty much all the Pokemon revealed for this generation as a whole. Game Freak's Pokemon design team deserves a raise after this!

What other things he did he say besides this?

Meowstic, riding pokemon, Fairy type specifics, Malamar and how you get it, Panchum, Pangoro, Gogoat, the types for the gyms and elite 4, etc...

There's a damn good reason why Nintendo came down hard on those leakers. They were spilling the beans half a year before the game's release. People trying to discredit these rock solid leaks are just engaged in a bit of wishful thinking.

I know it's ridiculous to pretend those rumors won't be true anymore, but playing devil's advocate here, they said Gogoat would be the only rideable pokemon (which has been confirmed wrong), and the fairy type match-up they said is not 100% accurate (they said Fairy would be resisted by psychic, while it's resisted instead by steel and poison)

They also said that Kalos' professor is called Patrice and that Sycamore is "other" professor... Also, so far, only one of the leaked gyms has been confirmed.

I still want to believe the starter's typings will be different, but my realistic side knows those rumors are most likely true.

It can be found here http://pokebeach.com/2013/06/pokebeach-x-y-rumor-roundup-and-clarifications

So far the only incorrect bits of information are Psychic resisting Fairy, Patrice giving the starters, the second Mewtwo form looking like Mew and there being two rivals.

Do we know who gives the starters? In the official website, it says "In Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, it's not Professor Sycamore who gives you your first Pokémon."

There being two rivals I'd say could be argued to be right, since it's very likely that 2 of your friends will get the other 2 starters, and be your rivals, while the rest have some sort of secondary functions or different goals.

And I'd say Mewtwo Y looks a bit like Mew, but maybe he said that after Mewtwo Y was revealed, so he was referring to Mewtwo X?

The starters are given to you by one of your friends, just like the pokedex. If I remember properly, they're sent by Sycamore tho. Also, they leaked that after MewtwoY and they specifically said "the previously revealed form" when referring to the one similar to old Mewtwo

Wait, it's pretty cool that electric Pokemon can not be paralyzed, but does that mean that stun spore won't affect them? It doesn't make sense, IMO, shouldn't that only work if they a re hit by electric type attacks?
