Wait...
Haven't you see the milliards of awful green advertising across all the cities in Spain?
The shops promotes what they think it's going to be more profitable, but Xbone has one of the biggest marketing campaigns I remember, pretty bigger than the PS4's one
Sony's domination in UE was not that obvious when you look at the media campaign for both consoles, for example in France.
I'd say Microsoft ruins Sony in that department. That's a chance (from my pov) that it doesn't compensate the bad words and price of the xbone.
I mean, honestly, what do we have on french tv ? ONE PS4 commercial that is, in my opinion, a calamity, telling NOTHING about anything new the PS4 would bring and showing Zero games!
Now, you have commercials for Battlefied 4 and Call of Duty, which are maybe the biggest games of this chistmas, and they basically don't mention the PS4 at all, and act like they are xbone exclusive. It's pretty crazy. Honestly, looking only at tv, it's like Microsoft censored the very existence of its rival.
I guess for now, core gamers and aware people are buying the console, but Sony should level up their media plan at some point.
you dont spend money on advertising product thats out of stock... makes no sense.
I firmly believe that Sony already passed 3m mark comfortably. I'm guessing 3.6 by end of Dec.
Remember that 2.1m figure was in Dec 1st, and it only included US sales + 1 dau EU sales. now that Sony launched in Asia/ME and restocked US/EU, I really believe that they are inching closer to 4m by now.
According to a famous and reliable industry insider, thuway, who has been spot on with many of his claims, has assured that PlayStation 4 is selling around 240k-250k units weekly. It is possible that he may have gotten hold or might have seen the weekly number from Sony as the information has not been disclosed yet. Whats more surprising is that these numbers are for US only.
I really hope someone comes forth with the weekly Xbox One number, because I can assure the PS4 is 240-250 k . People are buying it.

It'll be portrayed the same as last gen. I look at someone like Mark Rubin, co-founder of Naughty Dog and all-around pretty intelligent guy: He said on the Bonus Round last month that PS3 came in last place last gen., with Pachter nodding along. If PS4 dominates outside of the US, but Xbox one does well there - how will it be portrayed, considering most of the gaming media is US-based?

Both these guys SHOULD know better, but even they don't, so I suspect the average gamer in the US believes whoever wins NA, wins the world.
Annoying.
NPD numbers are roughly 25-30% of total WW numbers. I still cannot wrap my head around the idea of ignoring 75% of sales for no apparent reason.
According to some websites, Sony is selling 240-250K consoles per week; so, i guess that restock was really big. Also, with that record, i really think i will reach the 3.5m by the end of december.
To be honest I don't think Microsoft gives two shits about countries like Spain. I mean the userbase makes up a negligible portion of their total userbase. I don't think anyone from MS is losing any sleep about this.
Another attempt at downplaying a market where Xbox One is getting beat?
Spain is the 7th most important market for Sony behind USA, Japan, UK, Germany, France and Canada. <------- Relevance right there, senor.
how come Thuway stopped posting on Gaf? was he banned?
I mean damn he dropped two bombs recently. Titanfall struggling at 720p and PS4 selling 250k a week (for US only!).
Behind even Japan? How pathetic. These numbers are useless for the most part. The PS4 is getting beat in the most important territories. Spain is hardly important as far as significant sales are concerned.

Only single source. Not corroborated.
So you know for sure Sony is getting beat in the UK and NA? If anything Sony is being very competitive in those markets. Disregard sales is other regions all you want, but this will pay huge dividends for Sony in the long run.
This is amazing.Behind even Japan? How pathetic. These numbers are useless for the most part. The PS4 is getting beat in the most important territories. Spain is hardly important as far as significant sales are concerned.

Well, yes. Sony severely underestimated the demand for the PS4 and supply has been lackluster to say the least. Microsoft did a great job anticipating demand for The One and it's been paying big dividends. Sales in countries like Spain isn't as important.

imagine if Sony properly measured PS4 demand, sales records will break even more !
Possibly, but the proof is in the pudding. I agree, the PS4 demand is strong, maybe the strongest we've seen, but Sony was grossly unprepared for it and they'll trail in major territories as a result. You'll see come January when NPD is released; The One will be ahead of the game, pun intended.

Ah, ok. It's just fanfiction. I can ignore you then.

am i missing here?
USA: Sony is winning
Canada: Sony is winning
Mexico: We dont know but i bet Sony is winning
UK: Sony is winning
Spain: Sony is winning
France: Sony is winning
Germany: Sony is winning
Portugal: Sony is winning
Netherlands: Sony is winning
What the fuck are you talking about?
I like the way you roll, TM. Thanks to the custom xbone upscaler + sound chip combo, you can bet that the xbone will come victorious in all major territories.Possibly, but the proof is in the pudding. well, honestly you cannot blame Sony on this. WiiU sales were bad. also PS4 launch is the biggest in history.
So Sony was prepared to achieve record breaking sales (which they did) BUT PS4 demand was unbelievable and unprecedented .
Australia!
Australia!
Maybe. Don't get me wrong I'd have enjoyed if the PS4 launch was even bigger than it was. I wish Sony would have gauged the hype a little better though especially after E3's win. It's just amazing to me that The One has been able to keep up like it has given where it came from as far as PR. I just wish it could've maintained its original iteration. It'd probably sell even more.
Australia!
It wasn't hard, all MS had to do was exactly what they did, get rid of the whole DRM stuff.
Nice job on claiming proof is everything but being unable to provide some/awaiting for next year's number for proof. It's better to keep a low profile and just wait for numbers, then maybe your arguments would be more relevant.
And Brazil too.
0Do we have ps4 or xbone numbers for us yet? Or even ps3 or 360?
I wouldn't be surprised even if PS4 sold more than Xbone in Brazil. heard that Brazilian flooded neighbor countries just to get PS4.
