I'd say that featuring Asian actors as extras and side characters is arguably worse than just not having any roles for them at all. It reeks of them not wanting to give an Asian actor a lead role for this film, but also wanting to hopefully skirt accusations of racism.

Film scores aren't really mainstream themselves except a handful of composers that are famous either way. Without looking it up I have no idea who composed the score of The Revenant or Ex Machina.

What is awful? They're just set pictures, you can't tell how the final movie will look like from these, especially when all we're seeing is her in costume and some extras.

And I really don't see how wearing a wig is the same as the above.
