Senran Kagura Community Thread: Cuteness Is Justice, Ninjas Are Life

I know, I made some posts in there and saw some other people banned. Just don't see why Vylash was. Oh well.

What should we expect from a thread conflating SK, pornography and pedopholia, I wonder...

Such a nice community thread and nice people in it. I don't post that much in GAF, but I always like reading through threads like these. This thread alone has produced hours of enjoyment. Thanks a bunch!

Murasaki is the best girl.

You are going to like the last Nw cards :)

So i wake up and see the casualities...

*Sigh*

I guess i'll slowly go back and play some more SK : EV in the meantime.

Edit : Read the entire "other" thread. i can only facepalm by how the discussing turned out.
Having played and finish All 3 original version of toushin toshi, omega - something look like a silly thing that doesn't matter in my eyes.

And it's not because my attention is focused on valkyrie drive.

About the NewWave game, just to make sure. There are no sounds or am I doing something wrong?

Thank you for the welcomes.

But apparently the 15€ shipping weren't for something like FedEx but normal Royal Mail, so I don't expect it to arrive before the end of next week.. Probably won't order there directly again unless it's an exclusive LE

My Shinobi edition should be shipping soon!

Welcome. You've got good taste.

Finishing every mission is possible without too much problem yeah (apart maybe from the epilogue/unlock mission). 100% / best rank? Doubt it.

Well no biggie, thanks for telling me lol. Im excited to finally try out this game though since the 3DS lacks action games.

You could get pretty close if you played nothing but the game. It's about how long I spent on Burst and I did everything.

It was for the best edition btw.

Edit: Lol, just seen that Takaki voted for Marie Rose, Honoka and Ayane for DOAX3. Last two aren't surprising due to the DOA5/SK collaboration (Honoka has Hibari's costume and Ayane is now playable in SK).

Since our lucky european buddies will be able to enjoy the amazing game that Deep Crimson is this week, here are the things you guys must know before playing it:

- Putting aside the story missions, you have all the Hanzo girls available since the start of the game, so you're free to repeat any cleared mission with them as soon you get at the hub level.

- The story mode is a continuous affair with no real break until the end of the first chapter, so if you wanna return to the hub and change stuff around, save or grind some levels for your characters, just abandon your current mission via the pause menu.

- Is strongly recommended that you turn off the clothe-breaking cutscenes on the configuration menu. It does wonders to improve the game experience.

- The homing kunai (A button) is your best friend. A light tap will prompt your character to throw a Kunai at the nearest enemy and then she will teleport towards them (similar to Vergil's sword trick on DMC4:SE), with the proper rythm you can go between every enemy on screen without stopping. This will make short work of airborne enemies and even works with offscreen enemies.

- Unlike Burst or Versus, Deep Crimson lacks a proper "limit break". Its combo breaking tool is simply press the X button (hard attack) on the air. This will make your character to do a ground pund that will send any enemies in its range, flying. Leaving them at your mercy. It can be spammed so you can cheese the game difficulty with it. Not recommended though.

- Frantic mode has been reworked into a special mode similar to DMC's DT. To access it you just need to be in shinobi mode with your scroll bar filled and press down on the D-pad. This will buff your character stats and give you infinite scrolls. In this mode your health will decrease over time but it can be filled by landing hits on the enemy.

-Deep Crimson also does away with the Yin/Yang/Flash mechanic present on previous games. The perks found on those modes have been relocated on the new stance system and are character specific.

-All the girls have been overhauled from their previous iterations, stats have been rebalanced and now you have at your disposal a mechanic very similar to BB's drives or Injustice's special attacks. X has gone from strong attack to have different functions depending of the character. There are three variants: Some characters like Asuka or Homura just get the breach art introduced on Versus, other characters like Daidouji or Hikage activate a stance -By pressing X and spending one scroll they will let go a burst of damaging energy and will get a tweaked moveset and character specific perks. The last variant adds a new gameplay mechanic and is exclusive to Mirai and Haruka. Haruka has a robot at her disposal now and by using it to attack it will get red over time, you have to press x regularly to cool it otherwise it will explode and leave Haruka vulnerable for a few seconds (The steam released by the robot is damaging to the enemies). Pressing X while playing with Mirai will make her shuffle betwen three different weapons: gumbrella, grenade launcher, gatling gun. Each weapon has its own moveset and propierties.

- The game counts with a pretty handy tutorial and training mode accesible via the "Mission" menu. Take advantage of it!

-Oh right, I forgot. You can also set on the options menu if you want the in-game cutscenes to carry over clothing damage and the customization you've done to the characters.

I need a refresher on the physical edition of Senran Kagura: Deep Crimson in Europe.

It's only available from the official publisher's site with insane shipping costs to the mainland, right? So if I want the game for a reasonable price I have to go digital or wait for some stock to go up on amazon later on?

Exactly.

It's been a while since I looked up gameplay of this game, but I remember the clothing break animation being very common, very interruptive and always the same in this game, so it should really slow the gameplay down in theory. That said, I wouldn't turn it off until you actually get annoyed by the uselessness of the particular cutscene.

To be fair, it's always the same in the other games as well (not counting the special endings in EV).
Yeah, but it does seem to get a bit crazy in this game. I'm not sure since I haven't played it myself yet, but it looks like clothing breaks super quick and is triggered by using particular supers that either break top half or bottom half. So assume you're fighting two girls and you use the super hitting both, you'll get the super animation, the game pauses to zoom in on one girls clothe break animation, zooms out, zooms back in on the other girl's break, zooms back out again to finally resume the gameplay. Now imagine doing that twice to completely destroy that part of the clothing. Now imagine doing that twice to destroy both halves of the clothing. Now imagine doing that twice because they transformed to shinobi form with a new set of clothing. That's sixteen possible pauses of gameplay right there and then you have the potential clothe breaks on your characters. That's some crazy amount of downtime right there, and since clothing breaks so fast it's not even uncommon that the game will pause four times on you within fifteen seconds or so. I'm sure even if you like the animation you'll turn it off eventually.

All this is based on vids though, so if someone who played the game can correct or confirm this it's appreciated. It does seem more intrusive than most SK games judging from the vids.

This is exactly what happens. And to boot, you can't follow their falling animation with a combo so your enemy gets another free combo breaker when the cutscenes are activated.

Gives all the fucks
I won't lie, after seeing it once for the heck of it, I usually skip the damage animations just so I could get back to the gameplay. It does kind of break the flow of the gameplay a bit, & MrPanic explains why rather well.

Thankfully, you can skip them by pressing a button, so there's that at the very least. If it was unskippable, I think it'd be really annoying, especially in SV where you could fight 3 girls at the same time. All those transformations & damage cutscenes taking up time.

Should I be alarmed? Sounds like it went back to Heathrow for some reason.

Nah, that appears to be normal:

There's also this thread at an unofficial Royal Mail forum (yes, that's a thing), which clears things up a bit.

And lastly, it's the same for me, so if it isn't supposed to happen, I guess we'd both be fucked:

Oh, and if you enter your tracking code at the Royal Mail's own tracking site, it reverses the order of events to something more logical:

So you should be fine, really. I hope. I'm also a bit pissed that I pay >18€ for getting a 250g 3DS box shipped to Germany and the tracking doesn't even work. Or, let's say, I hope it doesn't work because it shouldn't take that long to arrive here, so I guess it isn't going to be tracked here.

Ah, whatever, I won't care once the game arrives. It just has to arrive soon, since I will be on holiday for a few weeks and I don't really want it to be sent back again.

Senran Kagura 2 arrived today (NL).

Is it supposed to come with creepy postcards? Because it came with creepy postcards
