Arkham Knight up for Pre-Order on Nuuvem (Steam Key, $28) no region lock

Can't believe titles like this and GTA V are available day 1 for less than 30 dollars. And The Witcher 3 was available for pre-purchase for freaking $16, day one. PC gaming is a godsend. Anyone who says PC gaming is too expensive hasn't taken a look at the game prices.

This is thanks to regional pricing though. But yeah, praise regardless.

I can't add to my cart. Tells me it's not available in my region? This is my first time trying this method so maybe I'm missing something? Was able to make a sign in though...

Who's saying that? Even outside of Nuuvem, PC gaming is almost always cheaper than console gaming on the software side of things.

Well this is odd. When this thread first popper up, I was able to add it to my cart with no problems. I didn't buy it then because I wanted to wait until I got paid.

Now I'm trying it, and I see that same "not available in your region" message and the cart is empty.

So...what now?

Seems they've clocked the increased orders and limited it to the region? Just use the Hola method listed in the OP and it should be fine.

But you need to upgrade your hardware for 1500$ every 6 Months.

Oh come on. I'm not sure you could be any more hyperbolic. It would be desirable to buy a new videocard maybe once every 1 to 3 years or so, depending on how aggressive you are with your upgrading. Modern processors frankly don't need to be upgraded more than once every 2-4 years. Hard drives, disc drives, RAM, motherboards, etc... need to be upgraded even less than that.

Where was Witcher $16?

The game was completely region-free on Steam initially, so it was possible to buy it on the cheap from a Russian who had the 20% loyalty discount.

Edit: And I think GOG also supports RUB these days, too.

Hmm interested at this price, but I'd miss out on the PS4 exclusive content and I'm not even sure how well this would run on my laptop.
i7-4700QM,GTX 780M,8GB RAM
Could anyone say what I should expect setting wise with this?

May wait closer to launch anyway incase they end up being region locked or something.

If WB changes its mind and decides to give Nuuvem region-locked keys, international purchasers will be taken care of. This has already happened once with Saints Row 4: Deep Silver told Nuuvem the keys would be region-free only to change its mind at the eleventh hour, but since the game was open to international users, said users were given region-free keys. Also, if you do decide to wait and Nuuvem locks down purchases to Brazilian users in the interim, then you're out of luck unless you know someone in Brazil whom you trust.

its telling me its not available in my region. Do i need to VPN now?

apparently yes

I just bought it with my local paypal, tho

PViIJaD.png

which means it's not a GTAV situation where you now have to have a brazilian paypal to buy it

so, if anyone wants it now that it IS region locked to latin america; I can help, shoot me a pm

Wait... Now I'm confused. I'm from the US and I haven't been able to get anything on Nuveem for a few months because everything comes up as "Not available in my region"

I saw on IGN they were linking to cdkeys website and it looks like that site is sketchy at best. I came here to this thread and saw I don't need to use a VPN or whatever, and so I bought it. It is in my account and says the key will be released when it's out. Is it now region locked to a brazil copy or something? Is there a way to check what region it will be?

I'd like to know about cdkeys too. On another board, some people were defending cdkeys as a legitimate site that offers buyer protection/paypal refunds and that it advertised with Gamestop and IGN. With Nuvem, it is a legitimate Brazilian site that wont offer refund protection when games are bought via VPN, so the low region pricing makes sense. Something like CDKeys seems too good to be true/valid for international buyers.

Not God sent to those who suffer when other people misutilize through these services and cheap prices are stopped. Everyone has stopped here (India) with cheap prices of their games ever since people from other countries started misutilizing

Is this the best way to support developers? Seems like PC gaming is the one that can kill AAA developers easily with dirt cheap deals for games that not yet launched. People sharing these kind of deals are taking away more money that go to developers and also making them to look for these deals to buy future games instead at full price. These deals are great for those who can't afford but its misused mostly by everyone who knew this deal even though they can pay $60. If more people start to think about paying $60 for a game is too much due to deals then its going to end this AAA business model by affecting sales (mostly poorly or avg reviewed games) and we might see F2P or budget games/Indies more (We are slowly seeing these kind of games more now and its consoles who are pushing AAA games but they are changing too considering F2P exclusives games from first party) instead, so then everyone going to miss old $60 AAA games.

Purely anecdotal evidence, but I would not have bought GTA V at all if it wasn't for the Nuuvem deal, at least not until it hit bargain bin prices. So in my case, the developers definitely did make money.

And the percentage of people taking advantage of these deals is fairly small, so I don't see it killing of anything, really.

There's a thread about that. Salsa will help you with that too
Couldn't find a thread, and posting here seemed appropriate :p
Also no need since I already bought it :)

Has anyone managed to cancel a pre order from nuuvem? Got this for free from my gpu purchase, and submitted a request to cancel my order with nuuvem, but haven't heard anything for several days.

For me, I see it as the consumer voting with their wallet and showing publishers what they believe is the right price. I would assume that there's a sweet spot between price point and revenue (for example, setting it at $40 generates the most revenue overall, $25 might sell more copies but doesn't generate as much, etc).

It would be dumb as hell to price games according to what PC gamers want. Because then GMG and Nuveem would still cut the price in half and the publishers would make even less money. So knowing that sites will give the game an aggressive cut regardless of the price it makes no sense to price them any lower than $60 MSRP.

Most consumers are always going to go for the cheapest option regardless of what they feel the game deserves to cost. A good recent example would be the dying light price mistake on gamestop where people were getting the whole game and season pass when just buying the season pass for 20 dollars online due to an error. There was a whole large thread on here of people taking advantage of that. There are plenty of games worth 60 dollars or even beyond that and theres some not remotely worth that. Lets not pretend like 40 dollars should be the selling point for all new games though. For as long as batman AK has been in development even with its 40 dollar season pass its probably not one of those 30 dollar games.

So wait, how long will the console exclusive stuff be exclusive? Cuz as much as I don't care about Red Hood, it's lame that they'd keep it as a console exclusive, but then again, it is this silly industry.

red hoods not the console exclusive. Its gotten by preordering at gamestop...Harley quinn is gotten by preordering everywhere. The scarecrow missions seem to be exclusive to PS4 though

hope they pull a ubisoft and just put all preorder dlc in the season pass

Digital retailers don't have control over pricing as they don't buy stock -- the cost involved with generating and sending keys is effectively zero. The quasi-exception is when they lower their own cut in order to have a price advantage, which you see on GMG in the form of discount codes and on Nuuvem in the form of pre-release discounts that are slightly higher than elsewhere.

If a bunch of publishers start making a stink Nuuvem might just start requiring a CPF (Brazilian tax number) to make purchases.

If that happens I hope at least that they are bros and don't exclude the rest of Latin America :(

If only the Mercosur actually worked lol

Well i have issue when publishers think like that. Most people who are using these methods to purchase games probably can't afford them at full price. Process of getting games cheap is already complicated enough so most potential customers who have enough money for full price won't bother with it.

Worst case scenario for publishers could be that they will get same amount of money. How? Instead of 100 sales at full price they can get 200 sales at half price. Those are digital goods so there is not additional distribution cost and even Steam cut (because they are selling keys that they can generate for free).
