I don't think it will be that high. I can't think of any superhero films that dropped 70% or more. Even ones with really shitty legs like Watchmen. My guess is mid to high 60s with another 60% drop in weekend #3.

Ya, I guess it rounded up to 70% (69.7%).

I suppose 65-70% is a good guess for Fantastic Four. Its Saturday and Sunday drops weren't big enough to suggest 75%. We will know more as the week progresses.

It may need to be that they have to include Fantastic Four in the title for it to count (which iirc is why the first Wolverine movie was titled "X-Men Origins: Wolverine"; didn't need to do that for the second one because it was already sandwiched between two X-Men movies).

Captain America: First Avenger - $7.2M (-42%) - $157M total
The Incredible Hulk - $4.9M (49%) - $125M total

Thor's 4th weekend was Memorial Day weekend, so Ant-Man is actually holding better than all of these films.

I think Ant-man will hit $165M and $170M could happen.

Seeing the way doom is treated makes me sad as he is one of marvels GOAT's.

Thinking of doom I would love if Marvel ever got the rights back give him the "Beasts of no nation" Treatment, Limited release, to not fuck with their phase 3 plans. And then release it on Netflix soon after.

Because they're boring as shit and 1950's. Boom, done. It's not that hard to see from asking people to name comic characters. Same with Green Lantern years back. Nobody outside of like 1% of comic fans can name them.

To be fair, not many people would've named Ironman either until Robert Downey Junior played him and played him well. The major problem with F4 is that Fox has tried to tell their origin story and nobody cares. They need "character" to actually get them off the ground.

This is false. They are hard to write though. Most comic writers can figure out Spider-man or Batman and put out some decent stories. The Fantastic Four get a good writer match like once a decade. When it happens, the book tends to be excellent (as in one of the best monthlies Marvel puts out). The rest of the time it isn't really worth reading.

It doesn't help that Hickman recently wrapped up (or is wrapping up depending on how you count New Avengers/Secret Wars) a top 3 run of all time for the Fantastic Four, and probably a top 20 Marvel run of all time. Everything will seem shitty in comparison for awhile.

However, China's take could be upwards of $200M if the series remains popular there, so the film should still end up being the highest grossing entry in the series worldwide.

Yeah wow. 1983 was a pretty awful year for movies in general. RotJ and War Games are good, but the only movie I've seen of those that I'd consider great is Trading Places.
